Summary: Why are people so stuck on the keeping of the commandments and the Sabbath. Did they not see the verses!

The following verse explains worship in heaven - after the second coming:

Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

Jesus, while ministering to others healed people on the Sabbath to demonstrate that:...Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? Matt 12:1 and Jesus called Himself the Lord of the Sabbath mark 2:28. Why did He say that?

Does this make sense: God is the Lord of the Sabbath because He created the Sabbath, blessed it, hallowed it and rested on it Himself. only to give it to us as a "memorial day" He did say For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. (meaning He created and instituted it) Matt12:8 did He not?

Here is a verse to remember - This is part of the ten commandment law which was supposedly taken away, but don't just assume, think again, read (Matt 5:17-19)

Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Sometimes, I just want to ask, what part of remember don't we

understand; and what part of: (For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and

earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all

be fulfilled) don't we understand? (Matt 5:18)

BY the time Jesus came to earth, the Pharisees became the "Rulers of the temple" they were full of pride and arrogance and they took the Laws as written by Moses (The ceremonial laws) and observed them in order to be saved. Jesus came and showed them a better way. He showed them by example that the Sabbath was created for man. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath, and it is Lawful to do good on the Sabbath. Matt 12:12. So, if you refuse to heal your neighbor but you go out of your way to rescue an animal, what does that make you? a hypocrite of course. and this is why Jesus called them hypocrites in Luke 13:15

How was the Sabbath created for man, what does this mean. It means what it says, what does it say: It is saying: The priests of that time have taken the Sabbath and they worshipped it as if they (the people) were created for the Sabbath. Not so, it is impossible! Man was created first and then the Sabbath. The Sabbath was created, for us and after creation. When God rested on the seventh day, He showed us by His example how to take it slow for at least one day out of each week (resting is not a burden) By resting on the Sabbath, He created a space in time in which we should come together and worship Him. This period of time called the Sabbath) It is a symbol of Gods creation and in Matt 15:17-19 we read.

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

So, I have one question, are you teaching that the Law is done away with. Don't risk it! the Bible clearly says that those who go to heaven will talk negatively about those who rejected the Law. Do you really think that the Sabbath (which is a part of the Law) is a burden, bad, and null and void: Do you want to set yourself up for this kind of ridicule?

look at these verses:

The Law is Holy, Just, and Good

Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

It's good and therefore not done away with:

Rom 7:13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid.

The Law and the commandment point to the seriousness of sin:

But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

The Law is spiritual:

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Rom 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.

Again, paul acknowleges and accept the goodness of the Law He serve God with the Law. and he delights in the Law:

Rom 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

Rom 7:22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:

Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Sabbath is a symbol of God's creation and a day to remember. If The Bible Says remember, why do we want to forget it so desperately. God rested on the Sabbath day and by doing this He made it holy and set it apart for a holy use. Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

What does Sabbath say about my faith and my worship towards God: It says, I respect God and I honor Him. By keeping Gods Law I vow to obey and to do what He wants me to do. More than that I will worship Him on the day He asked me to. I am not a rebel against God. When God told Adam not to eat of the fruit, He meant it and disobeying had serious consequences. Just think what happened? (a small sin in our eyes. to us it was nothing more than eating from the wrong tree) Furthermore, the Law is a transcript of Gods character and it gives us clear guidelines. It shows us how to live and how to behave in a love relationship towards God and others.

Now what about the covenant dispute

In Jer 31:31-34 we were promised a new covenant and the content of the new covenant was explained:

“..., But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts.....

Take a closer look at the essence of the new covenant, look real close: the New covenant is Gods 10 commandment laws written on our hearts. (I am sorry, we can't hide behind this excuse anymore)

Heb 8:13 says: he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

but exactly what is it that vanished? lets read Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

What is it that was against us? let's ask the Bible?

Deut 31:26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

Who wrote this Law Deut 31:24 ...Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

So, we notice that the handwritten Law of Moses, was written as a testimony against us.

We have noticed that the handwriting and ordinances written by Moses was against us. It can never be the 10 commandments (the moral Law of God). why not? the two tables of testimony were tables of stone and written with the finger of God. Exo 31:18 besides Mal 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not.. If you say the law was done away with then you are saying God has changed and His character is not love anymore - For His laws is love!

What is the purpose of this new covenant? Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

We saw that the Old Covenant is the same as the new covenant except for the fact that the New Covenant is written on our hearts. How then is the New covenant different than the Old covenant

he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Heb 8:6 But as it is, Christ has obtained a ministry that is as much more excellent than the old as the covenant he mediates is better, since it is enacted on better promises.

2Cor 3:6 He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. and now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Rom 7:6

Notice a few things: the letter is not the ten commandments Rom 7:7 asks. What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. So this new covenant is concerned with the cerimonial laws only (mosses' law) and it is not sin!

In short? Mar 14:24 And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many Rom 11:27 “and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins." Rom 6:14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

Just remember, we will be judged by the Law, James 2:12 so keep that in mind when you want to throw it out. However, We will not be saved by the law. Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Eph 2:8 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. Gal 3:11

How does this work?

We are saved by grace (meaning unmerited favor) after salvation we use the Law (our schoolmaster to draw closer and closer to God by observing His law of love)

Jesus came to fulfill the Law, Which Law? Luke 24:44 Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled." Matt 5:147 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

So then, What is happening here in Matthew 5

Jesus is reiterating the meaning of the Law and He is trying to tell us that Pharisees has it all wrong:. The Law is not a list of do's and don'ts it's all about love and it must come from within. for instance.

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire. Matt 5:21-22

This is the purpose of the Law and the entire Law pivots on two principles Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Again Matt 5:18

For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

where did we first encounter this law? Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

Mar 12:30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Mar 12:31 And the second is like it namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

These guidelines came from the ten commandments. The ten commandments is a guide to love God (first 4 commandments of Law shows us how to love God and the last 6 shows us how to love each other)

In Heb 12:24 we read "And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant"

You might want to ask yourself: What is the new covenant exactly?

I think it was well demonstrated that the ten commandment Law of God is eternal; this includes the Sabbath which God asked us to remember. The ceremonial law (or the law of ordinances) was done away with.

I guess, for those who are chasing the mighty dollar, we would be prone to say: I have no place for the Sabbath and the Sabbath has no place with us. SAD BUT TRUE!!

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. 1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1Jn 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1Jn 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

1Jn 2:7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Conclusion

So, exactly when did the Sabbath come to an end. Sorry to tell you - never have never will! don't fool yourself, you aren't fooling anyone else! Isaiah 66:23. Matt 5:17-19.

The law that was nailed to the cross is the Law of ordinances and not Gods Moral Ten Commandment Law of liberty
