Summary: Do not justify your sinful life and disobedience, simply accept your mistakes and change your life.

Unfaithful!

Nehemiah 1:8”Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, 'If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations…..”

I read these words somewhere: “I can’t promise you forever, but I can promise you today”: these words aptly reveals the present scenario of this world. We live in the midst of an unruly, crude and unfaithful generation. If a married man has a sordid affair outside marriage and claims to love his girl deeper than his wife, the movie world would call this ‘greatest love on earth.’ Movies with adultery and extra-marital affairs as themes, sell like hot cakes. Simply put, people embrace wickedness and seem to enjoy it!

The above scripture is the prayer of Nehemiah, where he confesses to God the unfaithfulness of the people of God and pleads for God’s mercy. Nehemiah clearly states that the people were scattered, and the walls were burnt because of the unfaithfulness of the people and quotes God’s warning found in Leviticus chapter 26:

14 ' But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments,’

33 ‘I will scatter you among the nations and draw out a sword after you; your land shall be desolate and your cities waste.’ Let us be warned today!

What does it mean to be unfaithful to God? When you disobey God and His commandments…. when you live your life based on your convictions, when you ignore strong teachings, instructions and go your way, when you forget to pray and fast, when you ignore the Bible, when you fail to give your tithes(offerings) to God, when you fail to serve Him, when you love your job more than Him, when you fail to forgive others and walk in love, when you fail to walk in truth and integrity…..

Do not justify your sinful life and disobedience, simply accept your mistakes and change your life. A young Christian girl was seriously involved with a hindu boy, when I quoted scriptures and warned her that she was going against the Word of God, she looked straight into my eyes and said: ”I will get him changed after marriage.” With that, she stopped coming to our meetings.

Friends, hear me out today, you are called to be faithful and not successful! Did you get that? Where you work, what you do for a living, how you treat your work, how you behave at the work spot, how you treat your boss, what you do with your money is of paramount importance to God! Are you listening? Even if you are ignored, rejected and side-tracked; yet, you give your best shot at your work spot. Colossians 3: 23 ‘And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.’

When we meet Him, let our Lord give us an appreciate-pat and say: 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
