Isaiah 6:1-8-In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!”
And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.
So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.”
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”
Isaiah was no stranger to the presence of royalty. But nothing he had seen in Uzziah's court prepared him for a glimpse of the heavenly court.

Three times, they say, Holy, Holy, Holy
Holy is God, Holy is the Son, Holy is the Spirit!
This is not God speaking, we know that when He speaks, people and things begin to shake, but this the seraphim speaking and their words carry so much power, so much weight, so much intensity that it begins to shake the door post!
Seraphim words, shook the walls of the temple, do you think that our praises to God could do that?
Our praises could shake the walls of hell!
Smoke in the Old Testament always represented…God’s presence!
Isaiah’s Confession:
So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.”
The more clearly he saw the Lord, the more clearly he saw himself!
Isaiah came to the conclusion, “I'm not like the Lord, I'm not even like these angels!”
He is basically saying, “I am not worthy to be in the presence of God, I not even worthy to worship God like these angels!”
Now he sees himself in a different light, before he had been looking though dim light of this world, and in that light, he may have looked around at others and all their faults and all their sins and he looked pretty good! (Just like we can do, when we compare ourselves to others, but when we compare our self to God, there is no comparison!)
It’s like looking in a mirror and there is not much light, you might look pretty good, but if you look in a mirror that has those lights all around it, you will see every flaw, every pimple, every line, every wrinkle.
But when he came in the presence of God, his perception of himself changed!
Anytime that we allow ourselves to be in the presences of God, and begin to focus on Him, we will be changed!!
Sometimes, we begin to believe that just because we sang a few songs and heard preaching that we have worshipped God, but the truth is, that if we are not careful, those actives’ can distract us from truly worshipping God!
Yes, those actives’ are important, but more important is focusing in on Who you are worshipping!
Remembering, whether in song (The words of a song, to many times we sing them and not think about what we are singing) or in the sermon, or the Sunday school lesson, or morning devotional….God is speaking to you!!
All those are important, because that gives God a opportunity to speak directly to us!
Maybe to encourage you, maybe to convict you, maybe to instruct you, maybe to guide you!
Because a lot of time, when we are praying, we are talking to God but we are not waiting for Him to speak to us!
So God uses these avenues to speak to us, but we must recognize it, and have our hearts ready to receive it!
A lot of times it is not till we have a tragedy, or circumstance or a situation (King Uzziah died) that we begin to hear God speak, it is not that He is not willing to speak before that, but it is because, we are more receptive during those times in our lives!
Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips
Now, Isaiah realizes that he is sinful, but he also realizes how that sinful nature is exhibited!
Matthew 12:34-Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
What is in our heart, sooner or later comes out of our mouth!
Pride-Psalm 12:3-May the Lord cut off all flattering lips, And the tongue that speaks proud things,
Dishonesty-Psalm 34:13-Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit.
Hurtful Words-Psalm 52:2-Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
Lying-Psalm 102:2-Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, And from a deceitful tongue.
Read My Lips!
We have to be careful what comes out of our mouth!
What about your speech?
Does it help or hurt people?
Does it encourage or discourage people?
The same tongue that can build up, can also tear down!
Our tongue can make or break, our relationships!
Our tongue can create or destroy, our opportunities!
