Summary: At one time or the other we all come to a place of Marah (bitter).but then bitter or better, is really our choice. We cannot choose what comes to us, but we can choose how we respond to it, and that is what determines whether we become bitter or better.

MARAH IS NOT THE END OF LIFE’S JOURNEY.

“And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they [were] bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, [which] when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them.”(Ex.15:23-25).

Beloved people at one time or the other we all come to a place of Marah (bitter).but then bitter or better, is really our choice. We cannot choose what comes to us, but we can choose how we respond to it, and that is what determines whether we become better or bitter. Have you seen when the bridal couple walk up the isle before the Pastor, they make the vows, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse. that is better or bitter. See that? we will stick together. In this world we will have tribulations, and these come to prove us, of what metal we are made of. Life just has some bitterness built in to it. Everyone comes to bitter waters at some point in their lives. Death of a loved one. Sickness, bankruptcy, divorce, false accusations, rejection. Misconception. We all will face Marah's in our lives, whether we are Christians or not. but it all depends on our response, you don’t have to drink bitter waters. see they all grumbled, had not Moses prayed, they would have drunk the bitter waters. never grumble and gripe, for if you are a child of God,you have God for you, to change your bitterness in to sweetness. He has promised never to leave us nor forsake us.The waters were bitter and they could not drink of it.

This means there was no pleasure no joy, no strength, no refreshment, from or in that circumstance. there were two possible responses to this, either murmur and complain or being to resent and blame God. or then Praise God,worship him, not because of the situation but in spite of it. If you begin to worship God,and understand the plan of God,everything will be changed God will bring you finally to Elim. Be like Habakkuk who said. Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation. (Hab.3:17, 18).Let us not be like Naomi who hastily blamed God, and had to repent leisurely. Here is the danger we all face, blaming God for our bitter waters, When we begin to blame God for our bitter waters, then bitterness begins to set into our own lives, Naomi had identified herself with her bitter waters. When you blame God, then you separate yourself from his comfort and grace to sustain you through your bitter waters. Let us learn from Job who responded correctly when he was brought before the bitter waters of Marah, how his end was greater than his former. Let us be like Joseph, he said (the devil meant if for evil but the lord meant it for good, to save much people alive as it is this day).Joseph went through bitter waters, but he didn’t allow them to make him bitter, but instead they actually served to make him better. Bitter waters teach us more about ourselves than anything else in life, When we are under the pressure then the deepest parts of the self nature come to the surface, this is very painful. (Like Peter we think we know ourselves and how strong we are) but when the pressure is on we see how weak and undependable and unstable and fearful we really are. These are truly bitter waters but they bring us back to Jesus because only he can deliver from the self life, Any one who has been through the process will thank God for even the bitter waters because it was there we learned to put no confidence in the flesh and lean completely on the Lord. And this is How our God makes even bitter things sweet, and we become better When God is our Travel Agent. Is it wrong to meet bitter waters? No.is it wrong to be disappointed? Yes. for God himself had led them there, as part of his developmental and testing program. Bitter circumstances doesn’t mean we have to complain bitterly. Look to God. Some think they should never come across Marah. if that be your goal in life, then the best thing for you to do, is don’t take a journey with God. for traveling with God includes responsibilities and testings. That is why the Jews have it written …"And they journeyed three days in the desert, empty of instruction, and found no water.” So let us rejoice and praise God. But don’t look down upon Israel too hard too. for it took them three days to turn in to bitterness. for some it takes only 3 hours in the wilderness to find bitterness, for others they lose their praise and forget their God by the time they reach church. So keeping all this mind shall we get a few insights from this passage for our learning?

1).THE REASON FOR THE TROUBLES.

“So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.”(Ex.15:23).Did you see how the sweet celebration of triumph of deliverance turned in to the bitterness of disappointment. "Then" we read "Moses led Israel from the Red Sea ... they travelled in the desert without finding water." No one could survive long without water in that hot climate, especially in a desert. What was God doing to them, they thought? Had he suddenly abandoned them, so soon after releasing them from slavery? Why? Did you see that it was already named “Marah(bitter) and they named it Marah.it says. did you see that the perils and trials in the wilderness take place very early in our pilgrim life? The wilderness journey starts the day they were washed by the blood of the lamb and received their deliverance, and it stayed with them till the forty yrs journey, that speaks of generation. In this world you will have tribulation. In this world which son is he whom his father chasteneth not? Three days they journeyed, in the wilderness ,and found no water, and when they did find water, it was sour. We can imagine their relief when in the distance they spotted an oasis or a well - their hopes rose high as they hurried to this potential life-giving water. They plunged their faces in the water to quench their thirst, but to their great disappointment, it wasn’t to their liking. They experienced the minor inconvenience of finding that the water supply had a bitter, but not poisonous, taste. This wasn’t at all uncommon in the desert. The songs they sang of God, overthrowing their enemies were turned in to a sad song. O each one comes to his Marah. Now that doesn’t mean they would not drink ordinary water, that they craved for Aquaguard,or bottled water? .No they were used to drink Nile water. If you drink Nile water, it has a peculiar taste, unlike any other water. Like we say,Pune water is the sweetest water. Look at what happened, the day they accepted the lamb and the blood, they came across bitter waters. O how people grumble even today, was it not better in the days when we lived in darkness? it is better to live in bondage of Egypt where there was abundance of water, that to live in liberty in the wilderness with the bitterness of Marah. Has not the devil tempted some of us,saying.did you see what you got after you received Christ? Things have not changed for the best, but for the worst. Let me tell you, it is better to die with thirst at Marah than to drink of Nile waters, and live, because the water that Nile river gives is temporary, but what God gives is eternal spring waters. troubles and evils come in various shapes and sizes. did you notice that the first three days they found no water, and on the next day ,they found water, so they thought their trial was over, but it had only changed the shape. for they found water but it was too bitter. Once a sister told me, Before I didn’t need a house, but then God put a man before us, and he showed us a house which was a good deal, so we thought we will enter it provided God gives us a loan, and God brought a bank man who was ready to give us the loan, and when we booked the flat, the loan amount was not sanctioned. Now we are stranded. I told that person. don’t worry. it is Marah you have come across. don’t grumble, don’t gripe, the devil wants you to give up, but don’t. He will do it for you. You need to pray, and when she and her family prayed, God showed them the branch which they cast in their case, and it became sweet. In other words the loan was passed miraculously, and they go the flat, and today they don’t stop witnessing to whosoever comes in their home, how It was almost gone and how they received it. Look at Rachel before she had a child, she was pestering. and her cry was loud and clear even to God.”Give me children ,or else I die.” before long she had children who proved to be far worse than none. Better no son than an Absalom. Look at Hezekiah, who cried when God told him to set his house in order, He did not listen to what God was saying. he was thinking of himself. He wanted a heir to sit on the throne after him. so he asked God to heal him. and God healed him and blessed him with a son, Manasseh, and he never believed that he was creating history by bringing in to the world, the worst child the world had ever seen. Never curse Marah.it is bitter, but a bitter medicine is better for your health, than a sweet medicine, which injures more than cures. Have you not seen people who were once in good health, but envied those who had wealth, and a good scooter or a car? O God this is Marah for me. why do you do that to me? bless me with wealth. and then when wealth came, their health was lost. because they had no power to enjoy that wealth.Yes,one pastor told me, it was good when I had my cycle, I was healthy, now I have a scooter, but no health. Yes people blamed Solomon for being too harsh, he made our burdens too heavy, Rehoboam the son of Solomon said My little finger shall be thicker than my fathers waist. Instead of begging with the people they could have waited for God to do something for them. God sends the trials with a purpose, not to trouble us,but to know what is there in the heart.” What shall we drink",(v.24). they cried. Their agonizing cry tells us of their disappointment and disillusionment. Such an experience is not unknown in the Christian life. Life is made up of "highs" and "lows”. For some days we sing Moses song of the lamb, then we sing Babylon’s sad song.

Difficulties and setbacks come with amazing regularity after blessing. We’re caught off our guard and a moment of gladness changes to gloom. We feel disappointed and discouraged when life’s broad highway suddenly leads out into a stony pathway. These experiences bring us back to the basics of life - what are our real foundations? When the time of testing comes, what do we cling to for support? The external factors of life’s circumstances are changeable and there’s no guarantee that they’ll continue to our liking. But they are not the essentials to real happiness and fulfillment. Many of life’s set backs are lessons for us, if we take it seriously. In one word “it is discipline”. Gods discipline. it is part of our souls education. a training time. It is time to see whether we still trust on Gd.When a house is build on the rock it doesn’t mean the storms wont come, they come on houses that are built on rock as well as sand. so it is an eye opener to us whether we have built on the rock, by seeing it stand. if it falls, we better move over and build our life and house on the rock. Now listen when it was said they found no water, it didn’t say they found no new wine.No.that would have been a small trial for some, and for others no trial at all. But no water, a child if it was denied milk that would still be a trial, but what if it be denied water, that would be a severe trial, for it is an essential thing. it is not “wants” it is “needs” basic needs. Did you see that? Many people grumble because they didn’t get a “want”fulfilled, they could live without it,but status demands it. and they become too touchy, but here it was a basic need. it was not luxury they asked for, it is an essential need. but they found no drinkable water. see that? at times God even denies our basic needs. Be ready for it, and there should be a purpose behind it all. They were not walking in the shade it was hot sand they walked on. To take away your luxuries is a loss, but skin for skin, if it touches the bones,? We need to know the purposes of God. How can it be, that God says I will take you to a land flowing with milk and honey and here he denies you ordinary water? it is not possible there should be something behind it all. We should learn a lesson from it. when Israel received water out of the rock, it was not bitter, but the water that came out of the sand was bitter. Even till today the water that oozes out of the sand is brackish and dirty, even camels despise drinking it. earth always taints it. when the flavor of the earth gets in to our blessing, it becomes tainted. Let me tell you, when you come to your Marah, you need to trust in God to do a miracle for you.” Let us then come fearlessly and confidently and boldly to the throne of grace.”(Heb.4:16).God has plenty of grace, but he will not waste on gripers and grumblers. I tell you a Christian with all the scorpions, and fiery serpents, and giants is much better off than the world which doesn’t come across such things. and even if it does, it proves them nothing it gains them nothing, but for us every trial is a process in the great redemption.

2).THE REACTION.

“What shall we drink?”That is human tendency that is the spirit coming under the dominion of the soul. They murmured, complained, and found fault. “And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree.”(Ex.15:24, 25).Wasn’t it that simple? He prayed to God. You need to trust Gd. Paul says “we glory in tribulations, also knowing that tribulation worketh patience, and patience, experience, and experience hope.”(Rom.5:3,4).How many times we have got frustrated and got upset needlessly over these kinds of situations. Some have spent the best part of their years, in frustration, while all they could have done is pray. If you tell them there is a remedy to your troubles, they will awaken, please tell me, and when we say, pray, they so Oh,I think that is the last think left to do. as though it has no place at all. While still others do say I trust in God, when in reality all that they do is worry, and talk negative and grumble, and try to figure out on their own. they think they are trusting Adjust because they kept saying I trust God I look to God. but inside they are anxious. they are like the duck which on the outside seems to glide, but inside the waters it beats its feet vigorously. It is our old nature to murmur. Can we not say like Job.tho he slay me yet will I trust on him? How can we complain after having received so much from Gd.?How can he save us by dying for us on the cross, and then after saving us he kills us. Some deny they complain against Gd,bt they will surely murmur against Moses. to complain of the second cause is the conduct of the dog. which bites the stick with which it is beaten. it owes no anger to the stick,bt to the person who uses it.What shall we drink? As though Moses drank of the fountains, and he kept them thirsty. He too was thirsty,bt he never complained. why so? was he not minnows he not tired. He should have been more tired than them, He was leading them all together. That is the thing, when men are angry with Gd,they show their anger with men of God. But how can they forget, Had not God divided the red sea for them? what is water then. Did they not read about God supplying water to an Egyptian woman Hagar? that too in the wilderness for Ishmael, the one who was against Gds people. if God can give water in the desert for a gentile. will he not give for his own children? Many times we need to ask ourselves many questions. God wants to strengthen us in the inner man.(Eph.3:16).Many times we only think of one thing that the sooner God removes those hurdles we may set off doing our own thing. at times these are not hurdles, these may be to test us, to try us to make us. Many times we pray, lord remove this person form my life, bring this man in my life. throw that one out, break this ones teeth. but doing those things will never change us, we may become more stubborn than right. Trials are for our learning. There are some who think when trials come, God is punishing me, he is angry with me. trials may not always be chastening. God may have divine purposes for us. He may not send it, but he may permit it, Every trial that came to me, and saw me trust and lean on him, gave me a greater promotion and responsibility in the kingdom of Gd. How can you make a prayer to God to be an overcomer if you he sends trials to you, and you hasten with God to remove it? How can you say I can do all things thru CJ who strengthens me, if there is no trial coming your way? If things are not against yu,how will you know God is with yu.The apostle Peter says in 1Pe 4:12 Beloved, do not be amazed and bewildered at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test your quality, as though something strange (unusual and alien to you and your position) were befalling you.” Be glad for the trials, for it makes you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have a wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it will be revealed to all. When life gets difficult don’t jump to the conclusion that God isn’t on the joy. Instead rejoice that you are in the thick of what Jesus himself experienced. This is the spiritual refining process, with glory just round the corner. and don’t give up, look to Christ.wht did Moses do. He cut off a branch and cast it in to the bitter water, and it became sweet.

Let me tell you, when we complain,Gd takes it personally, he has raised us up, to share his goodness not to grumble. when we grumble and gripe we show a poor estimate of Gd.when we don’t complain we reveal to God and others of our maturity. even during the times when we are angry under pressure, tired or confused, we should be quick to listen but slow to speak.(Jms.1:19).When tragedy came upon Job, it was unexpected. his wife, in her anger and confusion, questioned Jobs loyalty, tht he still maintained towards Gd.she told him to “curse God and die.” Her words teach us how our reasoning can be impaired when grief, disappointment and love are combined. I believe. her words made Jobs suffering even greater. However Job did not respond to her in anger, nor did he side with her and grumble against Gd.In fact his response was clear, direct and full of wisdom. Did he attack her character? No.He didn’t directly speak of her weakness, for he understood thru what pain she was going thru, and how under pressure she had burst out. Some preach that he called her “foolish.” No. he didn’t call his wife foolish. He said you talk like a foolish woman. In other words,yu are a wise woman, but now in your grief you talk like a foolish woman, but don’t do that. Are you getting me. What was the reaction of the Israelities, they were slow to hear, and quick to speak. we have to be quick to hear and slow to speak. Moses did not complain. Instead of complaining, let us know God must have a purpose in everything that happens with us. we need wait upon Gd.waiting does not include grumbling and griping. It includes thanking him that he is working on our behalf. David said. waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.”(Ps.40:1,2).I waited patiently means. I waited, and waited and waited, upon Gd. At last he looked; finally he listened.”Waiting: here means “expecting.” Waiting here is not of those people who have no other alternative but to wait, tht is not true waiting.tho they can do many things, they wait upon Gd.tht is imp, and while they wait they don’t complain.and God will bless them. Jesus told his disciples. “Murmur not among yourselves.’(Jn.6:43).Murmuring is sin, it is corrupt conversation. it will open many doors for the enemy. Death and life [are] in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”(Prov.18:21).The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit--you choose.didnt they die in the wilderness? yes all of them except Caleb and Joshua.Murmuring,is poison, it is pollution. we can poison our future by complaining about what is going on right now. Paul says “do all things w/t grumbling and faultfinding and complaining (against God) and questioning and doubting (among yourselves). There are so many thigns that we can thank God for. “Thank God in everything (no matter what the circumstances maybe,be thankful and given thanks) for this is the will of God for you(who are ) in Christ Jesus .”(1Thes.5:18).Thank God for no matter what happens. we need to offer continuous thanksgiving at all times, always thanking and being mindful of all the blessings that God has blessed us with, and the favor he ahs shown us. If you start making a list of all the blessings he had blessed us with, we would be quickly enlightened concerning just good we really had it. when others suffered. The prob.with most of us, is we take many things for granted becos we have an abundance of them, when other people would think they were wealthy if they only had them, and how much they would thank God for even 1/4th of what you have.

3). THE REMEDY.

And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, [which] when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet:”(v.25).If you have Marah in your life, and want to be healed, then take the case to God in prayer. The people complained to Moses, Moses took the complaint to His Master. It is like the people at the wedding at Cana complained about the lack of wine, Mary took their complaint to Jesus. Prayer is the key. As you have prayer God has a remedy. The remedy is close by,but you will never perceive it till God shows it to you, and he will show it to you when you pray to him.” The lord showed him a tree.” Did you see that? They were standing close to the tree, it had been growing there for years, on purpose by God to be used at the right time. God has a remedy for all our troubles before they happen to us. Look at Hagar, she saw her son almost dying,bt when the lad cried God heard. Bible says “And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.”(Gen.21:19).That which she saw not before, she saw after her heart cry to God was heard, she was not really blind, but it was restrained by the providence of Gd. O happy are those whose eyes are opened by the spirit of Gd.Tho for every trouble there is a remedy. yet you will not discern it unless you go to him. Secondly that remedy for the healing of Marah’s water was a very strange one. why should a tree sweeten the waters? I don’t think so there was any natural power in the tree, tho some may say that there are trees which if cast in the waters can be made sweet. but whatever I know in this case it was supernatural, for there are no trees till today in the wilderness of Shur that would have the effect of sweetening the brackish waters. So I believe. it is teaching us a very vital lesson. You know the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil were eaten by our first parents. and that embittered their lives and ours.bt there is the tree of life, the leaves of which are for the healing of the nations. Blessed is he that partakes of the tree of life. A tree is living, and when the tree is cut, added it sweetens the waters. It was not that the branch was cut, it says the tree was cut off, and cast in to the waters. some say it was rod, Yes call it rod, or staff, or carpenter it is the same word call it the tree. It is my lord and my savior. You call it branch. and the word says.Isa.11:1.there shall come forth a rod, and a branch. He is the tree of life. he is the rod and the staff of Ps.23. The apostle Peter confirms when writing to the Christians of his day - and to us too. Jesus himself, he writes, "bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins, and live for righteousness; for by his wounds you have been healed" (1 Peter 2:24).Unless Jesus comes in you, unless you partake of the word, your bitterness will not leave you. The cross of Christ is the most effective sweetener of life. Taste and see that the lord is good. Look to the cross, and you will be humble, yur hurts will not more hurt you. In your pain, in your hurts look to the cross,by his stripes you are healed, look to him if you have sinned, and you will see that he was wounded for your transgressions and bruised for your iniquites.Beloved what if Marah had not come their way, would they have prayed to Gd?would they have seen the tree of life? would they have tasted of it? If it was not of Adams fall who would have know the mercy of God, and the grace of our lord Jesus Christ? Only in the darkness you can praise the stars in heaven. if there was no darkness, how will the larks sing in the morning?” We glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience.” If Christ had not died, wouldn’t death sting be painful? if Christ had not died for you, would you not die than sleep in the lord?O Marahs’waters have turned sweet, becos of the tree that was cut. Did you come here this morning as Naomi when she returned to her city repenting for the decision she took, and said call me not Naomi but call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.bt she had to eat her own words very soon, for when she dandled on her knee and held in her fond bosom the child of Ruth and Boaz, the joy of her old age, she was glad that the neighbors did not change her name to Mara, and she loved it much, when they addressed her Naomi. Beloved don’t call your self Mara,bt remember the name God has given you.what is your name? My name is Peter, that means God says you rock,my rock.wht is my wife’s name.Jayshree.she has got victory.

4).THE RESULT.

There is always a blessing when we oby Gods word.

The story ends on a high note. "Then they came to Elim" (27). It wasn’t the Promised Land, but it was a place of rest and refreshment. There were springs of water for the people to quench their thirst; there were palm trees to provide nourishment and shade. When the Israelites had their minor crisis at Marah they little but knew that the oasis at Elim was only some 7 miles away. If only they’d known it was but a couple of hours walking distance, they perhaps wouldn’t have made so much fuss. This is usually the case with God’s dealings with us. Yes, there are difficulties, but times of comfort and peace are seldom far away.Wht God did for Marah he can do for your souls and bodies. The Jehovah Rhapha of the O.T.is the Lord Jesus Christ of the N.T.He can meet our needs today and can sweeten the bitter experience of our lives. So do not look at the circumstances but at the Lord Jesus Christ. See what a change from the desert of Marah to the next stop at Elim where they found twelve wells of water, and seventy palm trees. twelve wells each for one tribe leader, and 70 speaks of them who went two by two to serve Gd.wht refreshment for us.70 speaks of mans yrs on earth, tht means for the full life that you live on this earth, you will be refreshed. all 365 days.Elim has two meanings.a).strengths (plural form).b).Gods strong angels.Yu know how Paul lived a life of strength?he had a thorn in the flesh, and he prayed to the lord and the lord said My grce is suffiecnet for thee, for in yur weakness lies my strength.praise Gd.God has a purpose for our lives. He has chosen us to fellowship with him in his kingdom, which will be for eternity. What a prospect! But for the time being we are still treading this earthly pilgrimage in preparation for the hereafter. Life’s journey may at times be a difficult one; there may be experiences of disillusionment and disappointment. But there is One who has trodden the path before us - and his name is Jesus. It was Jesus who faced the ultimate "Marah" of life, for it was at the Cross that all the bitterness of sin was heaped upon him. We can take the story we’ve been considering as but a faint picture, a mere illustration of what Jesus did in coming to Earth. God the Father, the heavenly Moses, allowed his Son to go to the tree of the Cross and there was hurled into the bitter water. The pureness of his life, his shed blood as a sacrifice, was and is the means by which cleansing was made possible for you and for me. Hallelujah, what a Saviour! The "Marahs" we face becomes so insignificant when we compare it with the Marah that Jesus faced for the whole world.wht is your Marah than the Mara of gethsamane?he shed blood for you and for me.bt becos he faced it we can be confident to face our tomorrows.. Joni Eareckson, the Christian lady crippled by a diving accident in her youth, tells how she found strength to cope with her grievous disability by relating to Jesus who was paralyzed on the Cross and realizing that he knew exactly how she felt. That as Hebrews tell us: "He can sympathize with our weakness ... one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are" (4:15).

All of us, in one way or another, will, or may already have, come to our own particular "Marah". We may grumble like the Israelites against our circumstances, but really we’re offended at God as we say, "What are we to drink?" I can only answer in the words of my text that if, like Moses you cry out to the Lord, he will show you the Cross that can make the bitter waters sweet. Jesus spoke of a "water that I shall give" and he who drinks "shall never thirst" and "shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life" (John 4:14).Beloved changes happen in all of our lives. One day the sun is shining and things seem to be all going in our favor and yet the very next day something happens that rocks our world. The question is, how do we handle these experiences when they come? Sometime they are brief and sometimes they last for extended periods. The bottom line is that they will come. We are all affected by the changes that happen in our lives. Recognition of and yielding to God’s will is the one thing that enables us to recognize God’s hand in every circumstance of life. The deciding factor is are you bitter,or are you better. You and I must accept the fact that the Marah experiences of life will come to us all. Proverbs 14:10 states that, “Each heart knows its own bitterness.” The question can be asked. Why has God brought me here? What is His object in this? Did this just happen? In the case of this story the children of Israel were being led and guided by God. He was proving and testing them. “That the place where God set up the rules and procedures; that’s where he started testing them.”It may make you a little uncomfortable but I have to give you the whole Bible and the big picture. Deuteronomy 8:2 “Remember how the Lord you God led you all the way in the desert forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.”We must come to expect that there will be things that happen in our lives which will test us beyond our own strength. In fact, we may learn the ultimate lesson of life and that is that God made this world and He controls it.Tht everything finally will work out together for our good.Marahs will be there,bt never forget there is Christ in the journey in the form of a tree, tht will make yur way sweet, and he will bring you to Elim, and give you rest.I hope and pray that we may learn and apply this area of truth as well.Praise Gd!!!
