Vs. 18 “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness…” (NIV)
1) The Wrath of God!
Godlessness—means living as if God does not exist!
Wickedness—means living without any rules!
If you are not right with God, you’re not going to be right with others!
2) Man is Guilty of Godlessness!
Vs. 19 “Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.” (NIV)
God has Revealed Himself to Man:
His Revelation is Unmistakable! Psalm 19:1
His Revelation is Universal! Vs. 20
His Revelation is Undeniable! Vs. 20b
But Man has:
Repressed the truth about God! Vs. 18
Rejected the truth about God! Vs. 21
We refuse to give God His Glory.
We refuse to give thanks to God.
Replace the truth about God! Vs. 22 &25
Psalm 14:1 “The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” (NIV)
3) Man is Guilty of Wickedness!
Vs. 24 “Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts…” (NIV)
Question: What does it mean God gives people over?
Three Counts of Wickedness:
God gave them over to Immoral Passions! Vs. 25
God gave them over to Indecent Perversions! Vs. 26
God gave them over to Irrational Practices! Vs. 28
Vs. 32 “Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” (NIV)
