THE TRUMPET HAS SOUNDED

By

Bishop M.L. Maughmer, Jr.

EZEKIEL 33:1-5: “Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword (judgment) upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman (pastor) If when he seeth the sword (judgment) come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword (judgment) come, and take him (the people) away, his blood shall be upon his own head He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul. But if the watchman (pastor) see the sword (judgment) come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword (judgment) come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman (pastor) unto the house of Israel (AGC); therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Therefore, O thou son of man (Mel), speak unto the house of Israel (People of AGC); Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? ”.

Joel 2:1 “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand”.

“The Trumpet has Sounded”

OPENING:- The trumpet is a symbol of considerable consequence in the Old and New Testaments. Every time the trumpet sounded something happened. The trumpet can signify an alarm of war, a call to assemble, a command to march or a warning that judgment was on the way.

Various end-time prophecies show that a trumpet precedes the Day of the Lord (Joel 2:1; Zechariah 9:14-16), when Jesus Christ returns as King of kings and overthrows the nations of this world, establishing the Kingdom of God on earth.

The trumpet proceeds the resurrection from the dead (I Corinthians 15:52; I Thessalonians 4:16).

The book of Revelation tells of seven trumpet judgments (Revelation 8:2—11:15) that when each one is blown another part of God’s wrath is poured out on the people. When the last one sounds, "the kingdoms of this world now have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!" (Revelation 11:15), indicating He has returned.

Today I want to talk about a trumpet of warning a warning of judgment that is about to come from the Lord on High not on the world but on the House of God. 1 Peter 4:17 says “For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God”.

Joel 2:1 “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand”.

What is mount Zion, or God's "Holy Mountain"?

Psalms 74:1-2 "O God, why hast thou cast [us] off for ever? [why] doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? Remember thy congregation, [which] thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, [which] thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt."

So from this verse we see that the Bible says "thy congregation", which God has "purchased of old" or has "redeemed", is "mount zion, wherein thou hast dwelt".

So mount Zion, or God's Holy Mountain symbolically refers to God's people, where He dwells.

In Isaiah 57:15 God says "I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit..".

So let us again read. Joel 2:1 “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand”.

The message here is to sound an alarm among God's people. Not an unclear sound, but a 'certain sound' that will arouse you and cause you to take action!

Isaiah 58:1 "Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins."

All we have to do is just look around and see what is going on in the world today. Wrong is being called right, right is being called wrong. Homosexualism is running rampant. Preachers are more concerned about fame and fortune than about the souls of people. God is being made a mockery of by people who are so-called children of God. We have fake Bishops standing in the pulpit talking about I’m gay and I was born this way. We have the abomination of a lesbian and her so-called first lady celebrating their pastoral anniversary. We have preachers of L.A. and that’s all I need to say on that. We have scoffers walking after their own lust saying where is the promise of his coming?

The love of many has waxed cold. People feel they are good just the way they are. They say they don’t need that church stuff and that God is to loving to send them to Hell and this isn’t the world this is so-called church folk.

We got churches letting down the standard of Holiness trying to please people saying its o.k. to do what thou wilt as long as you just pay your tithes. They say its o.k. to sleep around just come and sing on my praise team. It’s o.k. to give God excuses because He understands - no He doesn’t. We got people saying its o.k. to live any way you want just be a member of my church and everything will be all right because Jesus just wants you to have your best life now.

Jack legged preachers talking about there’s many pathways to God all he wants is for you to do is be happy, I’m sorry but his name is not Bobby McFarren but Jesus Christ, He’s not worried about you being happy he wants your soul saved and that will make you happy for all eternity.

It’s time to stop playing church, it’s to get right with God. If you are mad at the Pastor and you have said I’m not going back to church again get over it and get right with God.

You might be saying someone hurt my feelings in church get over it and get right with God. I don’t like the way so-n-so talked to me shake it off and get right with God your soul depends on it.

Somebody might even be saying I don’t think it takes all of that Bishop I don’t care what you think what does the Word say.

There are a lot of people in the world today that think I am o.k. just the way I am. I got saved years ago, I shock the pastors hand, I said the sinners prayer, but they haven’t darkened the doors of the church since, they haven’t searched the scriptures for these are they that testify of Him, they can’t stand anything when the Bible says having done all to stand stand having on the full armor of God. Every time the wind blows they tossed to and fro unstable battered by the angry sea but they think they are on their way to heaven simply because they stood up the one Sunday they came to church and said giving honor to God who is the head of my life, yet they live anyway they please and don’t give God a thought until the next Sunday morning they decide that they feel like they have nothing better to do and show up for church.

We got people that can’t pray away a headache, can’t correctly quote 5 scriptures, don’t know the 3 phases of salvation, don’t understand the 3 types of law, don’t understand the work of the spirit, haven’t presented themselves as a living sacrifice holy and acceptable unto God which is their reasonable service and they think that they are all right, but the Bible says in 1 Peter 4:18 “And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

EZEKIEL 33:1-5: “Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that taketh warning shall deliver his soul”.

In other words, set a watchman on the city and let him be responsible to warn the people. My job as pastor, the watchman on the wall is not to be your friend if a friendship develops awesome but that is not my job, it’s not to pray that you get to sleep tonight, it’s not to pray that your electric stays on, it’s not even to pray that you find a job but my job is to warn you of judgment that is about to come. I can’t be worried about your feelings, I can’t baby every emotion that you have, why because the sword is upon the land and your job is to hear the trumpet sound and take heed.

Hosea 8:1 says “Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law”. That’s my job to blow the trumpet.

Bishop I don’t hear a trumpet Ezekiel 33:7 says “So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me”. The words coming out of my mouth is the trumpet blast.

If I can borrow T.D. Jakes saying “Get Ready Get Ready Get Ready!!!!!!!! Something is about to happen.

If we know that Christ is soon to come, and that only the "pure in heart" shall see God, then "And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself". In others words you need to get yourself together, get right with God for judgment is about to come.

Jeremiah 4 says:-

Blow the trumpet in the land; cry aloud and say, 'Assemble yourselves:- Assemble means come together, fitly joined, many members yet one body. Fail not the assembling yourselves together. No man is and Island and no one stands alone. You need to get connected up with someone and say I’ll pray for you and you pray for me I love you and I need you to survive.

Lift up a standard in Zion! It’s time to say for God I live and for God I’ll die. I’ll let nothing separate me from the love of God. I have to be Holy for He is Holy for holiness without no man shall see the Lord.

because she (you) has rebelled against Me,' declares the Lord. 'Your ways and your deeds have brought these things to you. Because you have failed to repent, because you have failed to obey, because have failed to be Holy, because you have failed to be committed, because you have failed to do the Lord commandments all this is coming on you - This is your evil. You can’t blame nobody else it’s all your fault.

You wondering way it seems like the devil is running rampant in your life it’s because the standard has been let down. You haven’t broken up your fallow ground. Iniquity has been found in you. You still holding animosity in our heart against someone. You haven’t forgiven. You haven’t been obedient. You have put other gods before Him. You’ve tried to gain the whole world and left God out. You haven’t hearkened diligently unto the voice of God. You have taken the name of the Lord in vain and that is not a cruse word. You have committed spiritual adultery. You have robbed God in your tithes and offerings.

Your deeds have gone up in the nostrils of God as a stinking mess and He has said Watchman Blow the Trumpet.
