14:21 But truly as I live and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord,

14:22 Because all those men who have seen My glory and My [miraculous] signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness, yet have tested and proved Me these ten times and have not heeded My voice,

14:23 Surely they shall not see the land which I swore to give to their fathers; nor shall any who provoked (spurned, despised) Me see it.

It's a rare and blessed thing for your family to be included in the bible, there are some great, great men of GOD included such as Abraham, Moses and JESUS.

JESUS:

Mark 6:3 (Amplified Bible)

6:3 Is not this the Carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not His sisters here among us? And they took offense at Him and were hurt [that is, they disapproved of Him, and it hindered them from acknowledging His authority] and they were caused to stumble and fall.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. The meaning of their names taken from the Hebrew

1. Amram means "high people" - father of Moses

2. Joshebed or "yokebed" means Jehovah-gloried. - mother of Moses

3. Levi or "leviy" means "attached" - father of Joshebed, grandfather of Moses

4. Aaron - uncertain derivation, but before the name of Aaron there's the signature of Aleph-Tav (JESUS CHRIST) - elder brother of Moses

5. Moses or "mosheh" means "drawing out, rescued, the Israelite lawgiver

6. Miriam or "miryam" means "rebelliously" - sister of Moses

Moses only draws out or pulls his strength from the LORD, and he is known as a humble man in his times because of this. He always glorifies the LORD and degrades himself. Miriam's name was lived in her life as well for she rebelled against Moses' authority.

Numbers 12:3 (Amplified Bible)

12:3 Now the man Moses was very meek (gentle, kind, and humble) or above all the men on the face of the earth.

Numbers 12:1-2 (Amplified Bible)

12:1 NOW MIRIAM and Aaron talked against Moses [their brother] because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite woman.

12:2 And they said, Has the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? Has He not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.

Proverbs 18:12 (Amplified Bible)

18:12 Haughtiness comes before disaster, but humility before honor.

Proverbs 3:34 (Amplified Bible)

3:34 Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, yet He gives His undeserved favor to the low [in rank], the humble, and the afflicted.

James 4:6 (Amplified Bible)

4:6 But He gives us more and more grace (power of the Holy Spirit, to meet this evil tendency and all others fully). That is why He says, God sets Himself against the proud and haughty, but gives grace [continually] to the lowly (those who are humble enough to receive it).

Proverbs 3:34 (Amplified Bible)

3:34 Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, yet He gives His undeserved favor to the low [in rank], the humble, and the afflicted.

1 Peter 5:5 (Amplified Bible)

5:5 Likewise, you who are younger and of lesser rank, be subject to the elders (the ministers and spiritual guides of the church)—[giving them due respect and yielding to their counsel]. Clothe (apron) yourselves, all of you, with humility [as the garb of a servant, so that its covering cannot possibly be stripped from you, with freedom from pride and arrogance] toward one another. For God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful)—[and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats them], but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble.

Aaron somehow at first got the touch of GOD in his life, because of the signature of the LORD JESUS upon his life, but later was surpassed by his younger brother as in the case and situation of the Israelites.

Younger surpassing the elder:

1. Jacob and Esau

Genesis 25:22-23 (Amplified Bible)

25:22 [Two] children struggled together within her; and she said, If it is so [that the Lord has heard our prayer], why am I like this? And she went to inquire of the Lord.

25:23 The Lord said to her, [The founders of] two nations are in your womb, and the separation of two peoples has begun in your body; the one people shall be stronger than the other, and the elder shall serve the younger.

2. Moses and Aaron

Exodus 7:7 (Amplified Bible)

7:7 Now Moses was 80 years old and Aaron 83 years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.

3. Manasseh and Ephraim

Genesis 48:17-19 (Amplified Bible)

48:17 When Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on Ephraim’s head, it displeased him; and he held up his father’s hand to move it to Manasseh’s head.

48:18 And Joseph said, Not so, my father, for this is the firstborn; put your right hand upon his head.

48:19 But his father refused and said, I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people and shall be great; but his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his offspring shall become a multitude of nations.

4. JESUS and His brothers

Luke 19:10 (Amplified Bible)

19:10 For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.

John 13:13-16 (Amplified Bible)

13:13 You call Me the Teacher (Master) and the Lord, and you are right in doing so, for that is what I am.

13:14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher (Master), have washed your feet, you ought [it is your duty, you are under obligation, you owe it] to wash one another’s feet.

13:15 For I have given you this as an example, so that you should do [in your turn] what I have done to you.

13:16 I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, A servant is not greater than his master, and no one who is sent is superior to the one who sent him.

B. We can learn humility from Moses

2 Corinthians 12:9 (Amplified Bible)

12:9 But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!

Although the Israelites saw clearly from the mountain that it was Moses hands that gave them victory over Amalekites, Moses clearly explained to them that it was the LORD, so the LORD will take all the glory. Moses has a clear concept of his stature and position before the LORD.

Exodus 17:15-16 (Amplified Bible)

17:15 And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord is my Banner;

17:16 And he said, Because [theirs] is a hand against the throne of the Lord, the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

Exodus 17:11-12 (Amplified Bible)

17:11 When Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed; and when he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.

17:12 But Moses’ hands were heavy and grew weary. So [the other men] took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Then Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side and one on the other side; so his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

Inspite of the reputation and high family profile of Moses, he thought of himself as nothing before GOD and before GOD's people.

Exodus 16:7-8 (Amplified Bible)

16:7 And in the morning you shall see the glory of the Lord, for He hears your murmurings against the Lord. For what are we, that you murmur against us?

16:8 And Moses said, [This will happen] when the Lord gives you in the evening flesh to eat and in the morning bread to the full, because the Lord has heard your grumblings which you murmur against Him; what are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against the Lord.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You are Strong and we are weak, You are Everything and we are nothing, You are Someone and we are nobodies, and yet in Your loving-kindness, Grace, mercy and pity over us, You made us Your brethren.
