AM I MAKING THE CHOICE TO GO CAMPING NEXT TO THE PROMISE?

Trappped by the negative?
Have you heard about the negative man that went SKYDIVING?
The instructions were simple:
1. Jump out of the plane when we tell you. 2. Count to 10, Pull the rip cord. 3. If that fails
pull the EMERGENCY RIP CORD. 4. The truck will be waiting for you on the ground.
So the man jumps when they told him. He counts to 10 and pulls the cord and it does not work.
He pulls the BACK UP cord and it fails...
THE MAN THEN SAYS: WITH MY LUCK THE TRUCK WILL NOT EVEN BE THERE TO PICK
ME UP...
I. BIBLICALLY SPEAKING THERE IS A DIRECT CORRELATION TO THE BRAIN AND TO
THE MOUTH AND TO HOW YOU FEEL...
A. CAN WE FORGET THE POWER OF OUR THINKING AND THE POWER OF THE TONGUE?
CORRELATION: CONNECTION, relationship existing, the state or relation of being... kinship, attachment
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
B. There is a correlation between smoking and lung cancer?
Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his
heart is not with thee.
Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the
abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and
an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance
of the heart his mouth speaketh.
C. WE ARE IN GOD'S IMAGE... WHY SHOULD WE NOT SAKE OUR CLAIM TO BE MORE LIKE
JESUS?
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth,
and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. [27] So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
D. WE HAVE JUST STUDIED 50 PROMISES OF GOD...
It might be easy to know we are in God's image and act like the devil...
WHY SHOULD WE CAMP OUT NEAR THE PROMISES OF GOD...
WHY NOT MOVE INTO THE PROMISE LAND...
II. WHAT ARE WE AS GOD'S PEOPLE PROJECTING? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO HEAR?
THERE ARE 2 MILLION PEOPLE CAMPED ON THE EDGE OF RECEIVING GOD'S PLANS
AND STEPPING INTO GOD'S PROMISES...
THEIR LISTENING AND THINKING MESSED THEM UP!
A. PROJECT: a plan, design in the mind,
Never under-estimate the power of the negative tongue...
B. Out of 12 men, seems the majority will SPEAK NEGATIVE... 10 to 2...
C. SEEMS THE CROWD WILL LISTEN TO THE 10 NEGATIVE and ignore the 2 THAT SAY:
LET'S GO...
Numbers 13:30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and
possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
D. PEOPLE WILL LISTEN TO WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR...
Numbers 13:31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people;
for they are stronger than we.
[32] And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel,
saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof;
and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
[33] And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own
sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
E. WHY DO WE ALLOW OR GIVE OTHER PEOPLE PERMISSION TO MESS UP GOD'S
PLAN AND PURPOSE AND ESTABLISH DARK THINKING PATTERNS?
III. HABITUALLY FOCUSING ON THE NEGATIVE?
CONSIDER THE COMPUTER? WHAT KIND OF SOFT-WARE DO WE INSTALL? CONSIDER
A COMPUTER VIRUS... THE COMPUTER CAN BE A GOOD, HIGH SPEED MACHINE BUT A VIRUS
CAN SLOW IT DOWN, CONTAMINATE AND CRASH THE WHOLE SYSTEM...
CALEB AND JOSHUA HAD RE-PROGRAMMED THEIR THINKING PROCESS...
A. 2 MILLION PEOPLE HAD SEEN MIRACLE AFTER MIRACLE...
They had seen the 10 plagues? The had walked on DRY-GROUND through the Red Sea?
They saw the #1 ARMY of the world destroyed? YET THEIR MIND'S WERE PROGRAMMED TO
FOCUS OF THE NEGATIVE...
Numbers 14:24 But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me
fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.
B. THE PEOPLE WERE NOT HAPPY...
C. THE PEOPLE REFUSED TO PROGRAM THEIR COMPUTER TO BELEIVE GOD...
Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
D. OUR ENEMY KNOWS WHEN GOD'S PEOPLE ARE CAMPING NEXT DOOR TO GOD'S PROMISE...
He will hold you back! He will make a fool out of God's promises...
IV. WE MUST THINK ABOUT WHAT WE ARE THINKING ABOUT! WE MUST EVALUATE OUR
THINKING, OUR WORDS SPOKEN, AND OUR BEHAVIORIAL PATTERNS...
A. NEGATIVE PEOPLE DRAW NEGATIVE PEOPLE...
THERE IS A SNOW BALL EFFECT TO NEGATIVE THINKING...
B. THE MORE ONE FIGHTS THE QUICKSAND, THE DEEPER ONE SINKS...
Col. 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
C. Sometimes we have to LET GO and then REACH FORWARD...
Philip. 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting
those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
D. WE TRAIN HORSES AND ELEPHANTS BUT WE WILL NOT TRAIN OUR MOUTHS AND OUR
MINDS?
Philip. 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever
things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of
good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
E. Will we RE-PROGRAM OUT THINKING PATTERNS?
F. Don't MAGNIFY THE PROBLEMS, MAGNIFY THE GOD we serve.
Can we identify the NEGATIVE---BITTER TRAPS WE FACE that we need to RE-PROGRAM?
V. GOD HELP US TO UNDERSTAND WE ARE LIKE A COMPUTER, WE ARE WHAT INFORMATION
WE PROCESS... OUR BRAINS GET CONTAMINATED, CORRUPTED... UNFIT FOR PROPER USE.
A. Have we established BOUNDARY LINES JUST OUTSIDE THE PERRIMETER OF GOD'S
PROMISES?
Zech. 9:12 Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will
render double unto thee;
B. BARRACUDA'S ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE. They are the pit bull dog of fish... <*(((((><
MACKEREL ARE SMALLER FISH, VERY PASSIVE and important food fish.
One day some students were doing a study and set up a HUGE AQUARIUM...
They placed a large aggressive BARRACUDA and later introduced the MACKEREL...
They placed a SHEET OF GLASS BEWTEEN THE BARRACUDA and the MACKEREL...
The barracuda would attack the mackerel and hit his head on the glass. ><)))))*>
Time after time the barracuda would attack and send a panic in the mackerel.
Soon the mackerel got braver and braver. After several months of the BARRACUDA'S
attacks the baracuda knew he was going to hurt his nose on the glass so he quit attacking.
The taunting of the mackerel did seem to bother the baracuda.
AFTER MANY MONTHS THE STUDENTS REMOVED THE GLASS DIVIDER, AND THE BARRACUDA
NEVER EVEN TRIED AGAIN TO ATTACK THE MACKEREL...

ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS TRY ONE MORE TIME... HE WOULD HAVE HAD A FISH DINNER...
MAY ONE MORE TRY WOULD RE-PROGRAM THE NEGATIVE?
VI. JOSHUA RE-PROGRAMMED HIS HOUSE... HE RE-PROGRAMMED HIS THINKING TO STAND
AND THINK ON GOD'S WORD...
A. JOSHUA MADE A CHOICE THAT GOD CAN WOULD BE HIS PROGRAM...
Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve;
whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of
the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
B. JOSHUA KNEW THE SECRET TO SUCCESS IS THINKING ON GOD'S WORD...

VII. THIS IS GOD'S DAY: WE MUST ARISE ABOVE CONTAMINATED THOUGHT PATTERNS
AND RE-PROGRAM OUR MOUTHS, OUR THINKING AND OUR BEHAVIOR...
WE NEED GOD TO HELP US UNDERSTAND THE POWER OF OUR THOUGHT PATTERNS...
Joel 3:10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say,
I am strong.
Philip. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
