THERE IS A TERRIBLE SADNESS IN BROKEN COMMUNICATION

INTODUCTION:
IT IS OUR ENEMY'S GOAL TO BREAK EVERY LINE OF COMMUNION, COMMUNICATION
BY ANY MEANS: REAL OR IMAGINARY... TO ROB EACH PERSON OF THEIR DIVINE
PROMISES & RIGHTS.
COMMUNION: TO BE OF ONE MIND... To share feelings and understandings,
sharing of oneself, to share thoughts, fellowship, from here we get the EUCHARIST...
To transmit by speaking, writing, body language... THE ART OF LISTENING AND COMMICATING...
To transmit, pass on, impart, give,
BROKEN: REDUCED TO DESPAIR, worn out, out of order, divorced, shattered,
nothing to give, to have nothing, to be poor or needy,
RELATIONSHIPS THAT WERE ONCE UNIFIED BY LOVE ARE NOW BROKEN BY SIN,
THERE IS A GREAT GAP AND VOID SEPERATED BY NO COMMUNION, HATRED, BITTERNESS,
AND HOSTILITY.
COMMUNION IS BROKEN DOWN 5 LINES:
1. WITH GOD
2. WITH FELLOW MAN
3. WITH THE FAMILY, MAN AND WOMAN...
4. WITHIN SELF...
5. WITH CREATION...
TEXT:
Hosea 14:5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as
Lebanon.
I. COMMUNION IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL... WE LOOSE SIGHT OF THE GOAL WHILE
BURIED IN THE TRENCHES IN HAND TO HAND COMBAT.
A. SOMETIMES WE DO NOT CATCH THE FULL UNDERSTANDING OF THE SCRIPTURE, AS THE
HISTORY OF THE TIME IS NOT KNOWN TO US.
THE DEW IS IS A SYMBOL OF: 1. REFRESHING; 2. BROTHERLY LOVE; 3. HARMONY
Psalm 133:1 A Song of degrees of David.
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
[2] It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's
beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
[3] As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the
Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
B. Mount Hermon inhabited by the Ephraimites, Linda & I got to stand and see Mount Herman
in the distance. Mount Herman is in northern Israel and southern Lebanon.
One of 3 Mountain peaks near Lebanon, snow melts and provides summer water...
C. THE HEAT IS INTENSE from May to October.
The heat makes the ground hard and the vegetation dries up and perishes unless the MOIST
NORTH-WEST COME IN EACH NIGHT OFF MOUNT HERMAN and the SEA.
Dew is chilled night air making moisture. This cold night air brings moisture and life to the whole
region
D. DEW IS RARE IN PALESTINE, there is no moisture in the hot summer, except coming off Mount
Herman. This dew keeps the plants alive and makes a morning fog to help cool the land.
E. THIS DEW OFF MOUNT HERMAN IS A GREAT SOURCE OF FERTILITY.
It is a symbol of GOD'S RICH BLESSINGS...
F. The withdrawal of this dew is considered a CURSE from God.
G. THE DEW OF MOUNT HERMAN IS IS A SYMBOL OF:
1. REFRESHING
2. BROTHERLY LOVE
3. HARMONY

II. OUR ENEMY DOES NOT USE FORCE ALONE, OUR ENEMY IS SO CUNNING HE USES
THE QUESTION OF DOUBT... HE HAS A GREAT EFFECT TOOL. DOUBT WILL ALWAYS
FREEZE COMMUNION. THERE HAS BEEN A GREAT BATTLE COMING AGAINST HARMONY,
REFRESHING, & COMMUNION FROM WITHOUT AND FROM WITHIN... THIS BATTLE GOES
BEFORE THE CREATION OF MAN...
A. GOD WANTED COMMUNION... God had all the angels and all the beings around Him, but
God desired something more, GOD LOOKED FOR MORE THAN A SERVANT, HE SEARCHED
FOR A FRIEND...
Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils
the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
B. In God's search for communion he created man...
GOD WOULD COME DOWN IN THE COOL OF THE EVENING AND WALK AND TALK WITH
HIS NEW COMMUNION BUDDY... MAN...
Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him
an help meet for him.
C. God loved His man so much that GOD ALLOWED ADAM TO TAKE PART IN THE CREATION...
ADAM SAW ALL OF GOD'S CREATION--- ONE BY ONE AND HE PERSONALLY NAMED
EACH ANIMAL AS IT PASSED BY HIM... What a privilege to allow man to take part in this!
Genesis 2:19 And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of
the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called
every living creature, that was the name thereof.
[20] And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but
for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
III. THERE CAN GROW A SPIIRITUAL TUG OF WAR?
THIS BEAUTIFUL COMMUNION BETWEEN GOD AND HIS CREATION WOULD SOON BE
PUT TO THE TEST. MAN WOULD ALLOW THE SPIRIT OF CONFLICT AND THE SPIRIT OF
INDEPENDENCE TO BREAK THIS WONDERFUL COMMUNION WITH GOD.
A. Did you know sometimes a GOOD TRAIT can be pushed, manipulated, SELF-WILLED, pleasure-
seeking...my way, God's way, MY WILL vs GOD'S WILL? This is about me: NEED BASED?
B. This battle is more than a FLESHLY COMMUNION ISSUE, it became a SERIOUS SPIRITUAL
CONFLICT BETWEEN SELFISHNESS AND SUBMISSION...
C. I will do better, I will turn over a new leaf vs. I seek the Spirit of God to lead me...
D. The battle becomes about DOUBT, not BELIEVING GOD'S WORD at FACE VALUE...
Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had
made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
[2] And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
[3] But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it,
neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
[4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
[5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall
be as gods, knowing good and evil.
IV. THERE GROWS FROM ADAM AND EVE TO THIS DAY A SPIRIT OF INDEPENDANCE
GROWING OUT OF THE "ROOTS OF THE SPIRIT OF PRIDE."
A. The DOUBT BATTLE against God is to HINDER CLOSE COMMUNION between MAN and God,
MAN AND MAN, MAN WITH SELF...
B. There DOUBT GAME develops:
1. INDEPENDENT SPIRIT ( I don't need God? I don't need you? D-I-V-O-R-C-E is my option.)
2. STRONG-WILLED
3. OPINIONATED and proud of it.
4. JUDGMENTALISM...
James 4:1 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your
lusts that war in your members?
[2] Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have
not, because ye ask not. [3] Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume
it upon your lusts.
[4] Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
[5] Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
[6] But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the
humble.
[7] Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
[8] Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your
hearts, ye double minded.
[9] Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to
heaviness.
[10] Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
C. Our enemy wants you to DRIFT FARTHER AND FARTHER AWAY FROM COMMUNION
with God and Family and Church... until we are TOTALLY INDEPENDENT and refuse SUBMISSION.
V. WHAT IS YOUR STYLE?
WE SOON DEVELOP ATTITUDES. THESE ATTITUDES WILL GROW INTO THINKING
PATTERNS. THESE THEN WILL ESTABLISH THEMSELFS AS SPIRITUAL STRONG HOLDS
THAT CAN BECOME GENERATION CURSES.
A. WILL WE EVER RECOGNIZE AND OWN UP TO THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS COPING
SKILL HAS BECOME A HABITUAL NEGATIVE RESPONSE STYLE...
B. I will develop one of 4 STYLES JUSTIFY MY LACK OF COMMUNION...
1. PASSIVE SPIRITS: repressed, suffering, victim, give in, give-up... to be inactive, refuse to cooperate,
like passive or second hand smoke...
GOD ASK CAIN: WHERE IS YOUR BROTHER? AM I MY BROTHER'S KEEPER?
Moved by fear/doubt
OVERCOME...
2. RUN AWAY OR EVASIVE SPIRITS: DENY, trying to avoid, run away, not direct,
insecure, TO MAKE LIGHT OF, fear rejection...
3. MANIPULATIVE, DEFENSIVE SPIRITS: over reacting to criticism, put others down, pass the blame,
normally a person that has been hurt bad,
4. VINDICATIVE, AGGRESSIVE, FIGHT, FLIGHT SPIRITS: forceful, forceful, self-assertive, hostile,
combative, judgmental, I will just quit when pushed, confrontational,
VI. YOU MUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON UNTIL GOD TURNS THIS AROUND.
WE MUST LEARN AND IDENTIFY SEASONS, LEARN TO THRIVE IN THE STORM.
A. Joseph is a man that TEACHES US ABOUT SEASONS:
1. His brothers hated him... THEY LOST COMMUNION WITH THE DREAMER...
Part of this BROKEN COMMUNION was Joseph's fault, he was a BRAGGART.
2. Joseph learned a season ON THE WELL...
3. Joseph traveled to Egypt.
4. There was a good season at Potphar's house.
5. There was a season in JAIL...
6. THERE WAS A SEASON OF REVEALING AND A RE-OPENING OF THE FROZEN
COMMUNICATION LINES... COMMUNION WAS RESTORED, 12 BROTHERS!!!
DO NOT ALLOW THE COMMUNION TO STAY BROKEN...
Genesis 50:19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
[20] But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is
this day, to save much people alive.
[21] Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and
spake kindly unto them.
Genesis 50:19 But Joseph told them, "Don't be afraid of me. Am I God, to judge and punish you?
[20] As far as I am concerned, God turned into good what you meant for evil. He brought me to the high
position I have today so I could save the lives of many people.
[21] No, don't be afraid. Indeed, I myself will take care of you and your families." And he spoke very
kindly to them, reassuring them.
VII. LOOK FOR A MAN CARRYING A PITCHER OF WATER, TELL HIM WE NEED TO BORROW
HIS ROOM... IN THIS ROOM THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH WILL BE FOREVER CHANGED...
COMMUNION WITH GOD AND HIS SON WILL BE RESTORED...
A. There is a terrible thing happening in the churches of America, they are returning to the old
Jewish programs, we have something better than PASSOVER. Passover is a good study, but we
have COMMUNION AS OFT AS WE DO IT...
Luke 22:12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
[13] And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
[14] And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
[15] And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
[16] For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
[17] And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
[18] For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
[19] And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body
which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
[20] Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which
is shed for you.
B. YOU MUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON UNTIL GOD TURNS THIS AROUND.
THERE WAS A TERRIBLE SEASON OF A HOT, FIERY FURNACE FOR 3 HEBREW BOYS.
God turns it around... DO NOT ALLOW THE COMMUNION TO BE BROKEN...
C. IT WAS A VERY DARK DAY WHEN DANIEL STOOD AT THE MOUTH OF THE LIONS'
DEN AND REALIZED THERE WILL BE SOME DARK HOURS AHEAD...
D. DO NOT ALLOW THE COMMUNION TO BE BROKEN...
C. YOU MUST KEEP ON KEEPING ON UNTIL GOD TURNS THIS AROUND.
D. IT MAY TAKE THIS STORM TO MAKE US STRONG... GOD WILL EITHER CALM THE STORM,
OR KEEP THE BELIEVER CALM THROUGH THE STORM.
BUT STAY IN COMMUNION... THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY!
I have been told that to make musical instrument that sound good and get better with the years
the masters want wood, not from the protected places in the valleys, but from the storm battered
sides of the mountains...
Are you a PEACE KEEPER? or a PEACE MAKER?
THE LOSE OF COMMUNION IS NOT ABOUT YOU... I WILL TAKE BACK WHAT BELONGS
TO GOD'S CAMP...

Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.
CONCLUSION: THE ENEMY QUIETLY STEALS OUR COMMUNION WITHIN THE FAMILY,
WHEN IN THE CHURCH, WITHIN OURSELVES. WE MUST GUARD OUR COMMUNION AT
ALL COST.
