VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. Trust GOD at all times

"Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people;"

Trust or "batach" in Hebrew which means:

1. to be confident and sure

2. put confidence

3. make hope

Live, remain permanently in Him by always praying in tongues specially when you're all alone. Don't leave His Presence. Trust Him continually and at all times - in good times and bad times.

1 John 2:28 (Amplified Bible)

2:28 And now, little children, abide (live, remain permanently) in Him, so that when He is made visible, we may have and enjoy perfect confidence (boldness, assurance) and not be ashamed and shrink from Him at His coming.

Trust in the LORD forever. CHRISTianity is not about greatness but the longest.

Isaiah 26:4 (Amplified Bible)

26:4 So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].

Example of trust in the bible:

1. Job trusted GOD even he will die of sickness

Job 13:15 (Amplified Bible)

13:15 [I do it because, though He slay me, yet will I wait for and trust Him and] behold, He will slay me; I have no hope—nevertheless, I will maintain and argue my ways before Him and even to His face.

2. King Hezekiah

2 Kings 18:5 (Amplified Bible)

18:5 Hezekiah trusted in, leaned on, and was confident in the Lord, the God of Israel; so that neither after him nor before him was any one of all the kings of Judah like him.

3. King David

Psalms 13:5 (Amplified Bible)

13:5 But I have trusted, leaned on, and been confident in Your mercy and loving-kindness; my heart shall rejoice and be in high spirits in Your salvation.

Psalms 21:7 (Amplified Bible)

21:7 For the king trusts, relies on, and is confident in the Lord, and through the mercy and steadfast love of the Most High he will never be moved.

4. Isaiah

Isaiah 12:2 (Amplified Bible)

12:2 Behold, God, my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and song; yes, He has become my salvation.

Some false trust in the bible:

If you don't trust the LORD, you trust in any or all of the following:

1. Graven images/idols

Habakkuk 2:18 (Amplified Bible)

2:18 What profit is the graven image when its maker has formed it? It is only a molten image and a teacher of lies. For the maker trusts in his own creations [as his gods] when he makes dumb idols.

Jeremiah 13:25 (Amplified Bible)

13:25 This is your lot, the portion measured to you from Me, says the Lord, because you have forgotten Me and trusted in falsehood [false gods and alliances with idolatrous nations].

Isaiah 42:17 (Amplified Bible)

42:17 They shall be turned back, they shall be utterly put to shame, who trust in graven images, who say to molten images, You are our gods.

2. Guiding friend, neighbor or brother

Micah 7:5 (Amplified Bible)

7:5 Trust not in a neighbor; put no confidence in a friend. Keep the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom.

Jeremiah 9:4 (Amplified Bible)

9:4 Let everyone beware of his neighbor and put no trust in any brother. For every brother is an utter and complete supplanter (one who takes by the heel and trips up, a deceiver, a Jacob), and every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.

3. In your own way

Hosea 10:13 (Amplified Bible)

10:13 You have plowed and plotted wickedness, you have reaped the [willful] injustice [of oppressors], you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your [own] way and your chariots, in the multitude of your mighty men,

4. Your fortress - mountain

Amos 6:1 (Amplified Bible)

6:1 WOE TO those who are at ease in Zion and to those on the mountain of Samaria who are careless and feel secure, the notable men of the chief [because chosen by God] of the nations, to whom the house of Israel comes!

5. Beauty

Ezekiel 16:15 (Amplified Bible)

16:15 But you trusted in and relied on your own beauty and were unfaithful to God and played the harlot [in idolatry] because of your renown, and you poured out your fornications upon anyone who passed by [as you worshiped the idols of every nation which prevailed over you] and your beauty was his.

6. Self-righteousness

Ezekiel 33:13 (Amplified Bible)

33:13 When I shall say to the [uncompromisingly] righteous that he shall surely live, and he trusts to his own righteousness [to save him] and commits iniquity (heinous sin), all his righteous deeds shall not be [seriously] remembered; but for his perversity and iniquity that he has committed he shall die.

The doctrine of O.S.A.S. (Once Saved Always Saved) is very risky, it will bring you to hell.

7. Riches

Jeremiah 49:4 (Amplified Bible)

49:4 Why do you boast of your valleys? Your valley flows away, O [Ammon] rebellious and faithless daughter, who trusted in her treasures, who said, Who can come against me?

Proverbs 11:28 (Amplified Bible)

11:28 He who leans on, trusts in, and is confident in his riches shall fall, but the [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like a green bough.

Psalms 49:6 (Amplified Bible)

49:6 Even of those who trust in and lean on their wealth and boast of the abundance of their riches?

8. In your own works

Jeremiah 48:7 (Amplified Bible)

48:7 For because you have trusted in your works [your bungling idol images] and in your treasures [instead of in God], you shall also be taken. And Chemosh [your god] shall go into captivity, his priests and his princes together.

9. False prophet

Jeremiah 29:31 (Amplified Bible)

29:31 Send [this message] to all those in captivity, saying, Thus says the Lord concerning Shemaiah of Nehelam: Because Shemaiah has prophesied to you, though I did not send him, and has caused you to trust in a lie,

Jeremiah 7:8 (Amplified Bible)

7:8 Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot benefit [so that you do not profit].

10. Men

Jeremiah 17:5 (Amplified Bible)

17:5 Thus says the Lord: Cursed [with great evil] is the strong man who trusts in and relies on frail man, making weak [human] flesh his arm, and whose mind and heart turn aside from the Lord.

11. Wickedness

Isaiah 47:10 (Amplified Bible)

47:10 For you [Babylon] have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, No one sees me. Your wisdom and your knowledge led you astray, and you said in your heart and mind, I am, and there is no one besides me.

Isaiah 30:12 (Amplified Bible)

30:12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel: Because you despise and spurn this [My] word and trust in cunning and oppression, in crookedness and perverseness, and rely on them,

12. Egypt (worldliness)

Isaiah 36:9 (Amplified Bible)

36:9 How then can you repulse the attack of a single captain of the least of my master’s servants, when you put your reliance on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?

Isaiah 36:6 (Amplified Bible)

36:6 Behold, you trust in the staff of this bruised and broken reed, Egypt, which will pierce the hand of any man who leans on it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust and rely on him.

Isaiah 31:1 (Amplified Bible)

31:1 WOE TO those who go down to Egypt for help, who rely on horses and trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they look not to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek and consult the Lord!

13. Your wife

Proverbs 31:11 (Amplified Bible)

31:11 The heart of her husband trusts in her confidently and relies on and believes in her securely, so that he has no lack of [honest] gain or need of [dishonest] spoil.

14. Trust in gadget or equipment

Psalms 44:6 (Amplified Bible)

44:6 For I will not trust in and lean on my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

15. Self

Judges 18:7 (Amplified Bible)

18:7 Then the five men departed and came to Laish and saw the people who were there, how they dwelt securely after the manner of the Sidonians, quiet and feeling safe; and there was no magistrate in the land, who might put them to shame in anything or injure them; and they were far from the Sidonians and had no dealings with anyone.

16. Properties, land, ownership

Judges 18:10 (Amplified Bible)

18:10 When you go, you will come to people [feeling] safe and secure. The land is broad [widely extended on all sides]; and God has given it into your hands—a place where there is no want of anything that is in the earth.

Deuteronomy 28:52 (Amplified Bible)

28:52 They shall besiege you in all your towns until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down throughout all your land; and they shall besiege you in all your towns throughout all your land which the Lord your God has given you.

17. Doctors

2 Chronicles 16:12 (Amplified Bible)

16:12 In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet—until his disease became very severe; yet in his disease he did not seek the Lord, but relied on the physicians.

B. Pour out your heart before Him

"pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower). Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!"

Pour out or "shaphak" in Hebrew which means:

1. spill forth (like blood, a liquid metal)

2. to mound up (like a solid)

3. to expend (life, soul) - like gas

Refuge or "machaseh machseh" in Hebrew which means:

1. shelter

2. hope

3. trust

4. Insight: we consider GOD as a place of trust, ie. like a bank, like a fortress, like a hospital

The heart is mind and soul in the bible as well. We pour out our hearts before GOD with no reservation because we know we can fully and infinitely trust GOD not to tell our secrets to anyone.

Deuteronomy 2:19 (Amplified Bible)

2:19 But when you come near the territory of the sons of Ammon, do not trouble or assault them or provoke or stir them up, for I will not give you any of the land of the Ammonites for a possession, because I have given it to the sons of Lot for a possession.

Philippians 4:6 (Amplified Bible)

4:6 Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

Isaiah 26:16 (Amplified Bible)

26:16 Lord, when they were in trouble and distress, they sought and visited You; they poured out a prayerful whisper when Your chastening was upon them.

Illustration:

Our prayers are like liquid incense before GOD in a bowl.

Revelation 5:8 (Amplified Bible)

5:8 And when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] prostrated themselves before the Lamb. Each was holding a harp (lute or guitar), and they had golden bowls full of incense (fragrant spices and gums for burning), which are the prayers of God’s people (the saints).

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship and thank You very much LORD JESUS, for I trust in You forever for You are my Eternal Rock of Ages.
