Summary: How fathers should be and act.

AS FATHER WE SHOULD DO AS GOD TEACHES

Proverbs3:1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

(1) We should appreciate Instruction

Proverbs 1: 2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

(2) Acknowledge Gods Wisdom

Proverbs 3: 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

(3) Seek Understanding

Proverbs 4: 1 Hear, ye children, the instruction of a father, and attend to know understanding.

2 For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

(4) He shall direct thy paths

Proverbs 3: 4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

(5) Praying for understanding

1Kings 3: 3 And Solomon loved the LORD, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in high places.

4 And the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place: a thousand burnt offerings did Solomon offer upon that altar.

5 In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.

Remember : He who provides for this life, but takes no care for eternity is wise for moment, but after a fool forever.

The measure of a man is not the number of his servants, but the number of people who he served. D.Moody
