I. SIN ALWAYS BREAKS FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD (8)

II. SIN ALWAYS BREEDS FEAR OF GOD 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

III. SIN ALWAYS BLAMES FAILURE ON GOD 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

B. Because of Separation. (their fate)Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death.” ie.

Gen 5:5, “And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.”

Death Spiritual Gen 3:22-24, Read

Death Eternal Luke 16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

C. Because of Salvation (their forgiveness)

Isaiah 59:12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; 13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. 14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter. 15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. 16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him

Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

D. Because of Sovereignty (their fellowship) 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

He Seeks Us Not Because Of What We Are, But Because Of Who He Is.

John 10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

"He seeketh! That word means more than it seems. He is in search of something; which he has lost; of something which he counts precious; of something which he cannot afford to lose. Great as he is, there are many things which he cannot think of letting go. His very greatness makes him needy, for it makes him understand the value, not only of every soul which he has formed, but of every atom of dust which he has created. When he misses any part of his creation, he goes or sends in search of it; he will not part with it.

Men of common souls, when they lose anything, are apt to say, Let it go, I can do without it. Men of great minds, when they lose anything, say, I must have it back again, I cannot afford to lose it. Much more is this true of the infinite Jehovah. It is his greatness that makes him so susceptible of loss. Others may overlook the lost thing. He cannot. He must go in quest of it." Horatius Bonar

John 11:28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee. 29 As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.

D. It was Provoking - Adam's confession 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

God didn't ask Adam "Where art thou" because He wanted to know where Adam was,

but because he wanted ADAM to know where he was!

Men do not get saved until they realize that they are lost.
