Matt. 1:18-25 THE MAN GOD CHOSE TO RAISE HIS SON

I. JOSEPH'S DILEMMA v. 18- Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

A. An Unexpected Development – she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

B. An Uncharacteristic Deliberation – 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example,was minded to put her away privily.

C. An Uncommon Decision – 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

II. JOSEPH'S DREAM v.20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

There Is :-

A. Truth Revealed – fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. Joseph discovers who the real Father is.

B. Title Revealed – 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. "Jesus" – Jehovah Is Salvation!

C. Task Revealed – 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

A. He Obeyed Immediately – Obedience reveals the heart of man like nothing else!

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

1 Sam. 15:22. And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

B. He Obeyed Implicitly – 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son:
