God Reigns In Holiness Psalm 93:1-5NASB

A group of scientists who got together one day and decided that man had come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one scientist to go and tell God that they were done with Him.

The scientist walked up to God and said, "God, we’ve decided that we no longer need you. We’re to the point that we can clone people and do many miraculous things, so why don’t you just go on and get lost."

God listened very patiently and kindly to the man and after the scientist was done talking, God said, "Very well, how about this, let’s say we have a ’man-making’ contest." To which the scientist replied, "OK, great!"

God added, "Now, we’re going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam." The scientist said, "Sure, no problem" and bent down and grabbed himself a handful of dirt.

God just looked at him and said, "No, no, no. You go get your own dirt!"

NASB The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved. 2 Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. 3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord, The floods have lifted up their voice, The floods lift up their pounding waves. 4 More than the sounds of many waters, Than the mighty breakers of the sea, The Lord on high is mighty. 5 Your testimonies are fully confirmed; Holiness befits Your house, O Lord, forevermore.

Psalm 93,95-100 are dedicated to celebrate God’s sovereign kingship over the world. 's eternal, universal kingdom which is providentially administrative through his son Jesus Christ. Nothing is more powerful than Lord, nothing is more steadfast than his reign, Nothing is more sure than His revelation.

Psalm 93 can be broken down as follows:

The establishment of the reign of God as King of creation. Vs.1-2

The celebration of the stability of God as King of creation. Vs.3-4

The acknowledgement of the excellent nature of God. Vs.5.

Colossians 1:17AMP And He Himself existed and is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. [His is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe.]

There is no such thing as a Power Struggle when it comes to the Reign of the Lord! When you are in the ocean, you have no control over its movement and power, or your position in it. In this psalm, we see God portrayed as even more powerful than the ocean.

Psalm 93:1NLT The Lord is king! He is robed in majesty. Indeed, the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.

Verse 1, The Lord is King; He’s robbed in majesty…He’s armed with strength… For an individual to personally realize this, it takes relationship built through high respect for the Creator.

Revelation 1:8,12-18NLT “I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.”

12-18NLT When I turned to see who was speaking to me, I saw seven gold lamp-stands. 13 And standing in the middle of the lamp-stands was someone like the Son of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest. 14 His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And his eyes were like flames of fire. 15 His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice thundered like mighty ocean waves. 16 He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp two-edged sword came from his mouth. And his face was like the sun in all its brilliance.

17 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead. But he laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last. 18 I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave.

Psalm 93:2NLT Your throne, O Lord, has stood from time immemorial. You yourself are from the everlasting past.

In Exodus 3:14 God discloses His name to Moses as “I Am Who I Am” which is the definition of the Hebrew Yahweh. English Jehovah comes from the Hebrew YHWH,...The Jews consider YHWH too sacred to utter. The name proclaims God as self-existent, self-sufficient, eternal, and sovereign” (MacDonald, W., & Farstad, A. Believer’s Bible Commentary).

J.I. Packer, Knowing God. “This name is not a description of God, but simply a declaration of His self-existence and his eternal changelessness”

Malachi 3:6aNIV “I the Lord do not change…

I want to give some steadfast truth about God that never change.

God’s truth does not change.

Psalm 119:160 The sum of your word is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever.

Hebrews 13:8NKJ Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.

God’s ways do not change.

God deal with the sinner, making opportunities for him or her to be saved.

God loves humanity~ He hasn’t changed His mind.

Acts 4:12NIV Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

3. God’s Character Does Not Change.

Whatever the attributes of God were before the universe was called into existence, they are precisely the same now, and will remain so forever.

Listen to Exodus 34:5-7aNLT Then the Lord came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and he called out his own name, Yahweh. 6 The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. 7 I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin.

A.W. Pink, The Attributes of God. “There never was a time when He was not; there never will come a time when He shall cease to be. God has neither evolved, grown, nor improved. All that He is today, He has ever been, and ever will be”

Psalm 93:3NLT The floods have risen up, O Lord. The floods have roared like thunder; the floods have lifted their pounding waves.

If the oceans could be weighed, always remember, God created it.

Job 38:4-6NLT “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. 5 Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line? 6 What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone

Psalm 93:4NLT But mightier than the violent raging of the seas, mightier than the breakers on the shore—the Lord above is mightier than these!

Most of us in here today would agree on God’s creative ability, and His mighty power and strength, but what about our daily lives?

Two elderly, excited Southern women were sitting together in the front pew of church listening to a fiery preacher.

When this preacher condemned the sin of stealing, these two ladies cried out at the tops of their lungs, "Amen, brother!"When the preacher condemned the sin of lust, they yelled again, “Preach it, Reverend!"

And when the preacher condemned the sin of lying, they jumped to their feet and screamed, “Right on brother! Tell it like it is!”

But when the preacher condemned the sin of gossip, the two got very quiet. One turned to the other and said, "He’s quit preaching and now he’s meddlin.”

Remember this, “If you belong to God, He is calling the shots!”

Think about this thought: This Lord lives and abides within you, and His ability is limitless.

* To release the power of God that is already within you.

1. Decide that material things will never be your first pursuit.

Matthew 6:33NKJ Seek first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added onto you.

2. Realize that God will not move where there is no faith.

Hebrews 11:6NKJ Now faith is the substances of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

3. Keep in mind that God will always use something you already have.

Matthew 25, Remember God gave men talents~ 1,2,5

4. Don’t forget to give God glory.

When the praise comes, pass it on to Him, by thanking Him!

Psalm 93:5NLT Your royal laws cannot be changed. Your reign, O Lord, is holy forever and ever.

There is great comfort in the doctrine of the immutability of God. His promises include a salvation for believers that is eternal. That means He will faithfully manifest His love, forgiveness, mercy, and grace toward us forever! God reassuringly says, "The mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My loving-kindness will not be removed from you, and My covenant of peace will not be shaken" (Isa. 54:10). This is the faithful, unchanging God you can trust completely. He will always be true to His Word and fulfill all His promises. It’s no wonder Christ said, "Have faith in God" Mark 11:22. He was saying, "You can trust God. You can put your life in His hands."

Again, The very instant you come before God you will fall and worship. Revelation 1:17AMP When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead. And He placed His right hand on me and said, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last [absolute Deity, the Son of God],

Benedition.
