Summary: In everything we do, whether physically or spiritually, there must be a foundation. It is the foundation of a building that will determine if a building will be stable and durable. In anything we do or intend to do, the foundation is very important.

In everything we do, whether physically or spiritually, there must be a foundation. It is the foundation of a building that will determine if a building will be stable and durable. In anything we do or intend to do, the foundation is very important.

Foundational problems are the most difficult problems anyone can think of. When your foundation is polluted, your destiny will be polluted. Every faulty foundation will give birth to a faulty life. You cannot go beyond the level of your foundation. The healthier your foundation, the healthier your life and the better result you will get from your location.

If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do? The foundation will need to be rebranded through the power of prayer, through deliverance and with the help of the Holy Spirit. Many are living confused life now not because of the things they are doing now but because of the evil they had done years ago or the ones done on their behalf by their parents or forefathers.

Most things that are happening to people now are as a result of events that happened many years ago. The foundation of a person’s life is just like any other foundation.

What is a foundation?

 Foundation can be defined as the lowest load bearing part of a building, typically below ground level.

 It can also be referred to as an underlying basis or principle for something.

 It is the natural or prepared ground or base on which some structure rests.

 The truth is the problem of wrong and evil foundation has not been adequately presented to the modern man.

 In the contest of this teaching, the word foundation is described as your place of birth, where you are coming from, your root, your parents and your grandparents where they are coming from, your family history, your community history, and the demonic ungodly activities of the past either by yourself or by your ancestors.

Let’s read few scriptures for more understanding about this subject,

“Jabez was more a man of honor than his brothers. His mother gave him the name Jabez, saying, “Because I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “O, if only You would bring good to me and give me more land! If only Your hand might be with me, that You would keep me from being hurt!” And God gave him what he asked for.” - 1 Chronicles 4:9-10

The truth is that a faulty foundation is not the end of life. You can change and rebrand your foundation, if you are determined like Hezekiah in the Bible. He had a desire to break away from wrong foundation and he took concrete steps to ensure it was done.

“Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king. And he ruled for sixteen years in Jerusalem. He did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord, as his father David had done. But he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel. He also made objects to look like the false gods of Baal. He burned special perfume in the valley of Ben-Hinnom. And he burned his sons in fire, following the hated ways of the nations whom the Lord had driven out before the sons of Israel. He gave gifts in worship and burned special perfume on the high places, on the hills, and under every green tree.”- 2 Chronicle 28:1-4

Hezekiah took over from Ahaz and he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord.

“Hezekiah became king when he was twenty-five years old. And he ruled for twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abijah, the daughter of Zechariah. Hezekiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. He did all that his father David had done.”- 2 Chronicles 29: 1-2 (NIV)

Hezekiah sent word to all Israel and Judah. He wrote letters to Ephraim and Manasseh also, that they should come to the house of the Lord at Jerusalem, to keep the Passover to the Lord God of Israel. For the king and his rulers and all the people in Jerusalem had decided to keep the Passover in the second month. For they could not keep it at the set time, because there had not been enough religious leaders who had made themselves holy. And the people had not been gathered to Jerusalem. So the new time pleased the king and all the people. And they made it known in all Israel, from Beer-sheba to Dan that they should come to keep the Passover to the Lord God of Israel at Jerusalem. For great numbers of people had not kept it, as they were

told to do.” - 2 Chronicles 30: 1-2 (NIV)

No matter what is happening in your family as a result of wrong foundation you can decide today to take a different direction like Hezekiah.

Too many people are still foolishly following the evil paths of their fathers. Unfortunately many people seek for deliverance just by wishing and mere words of mouth

Hezekiah knew what he wanted and he went for it. He knew how terrible the foundation of his father was, so he opted for another one

“In the third year of Hoshea the son of Elah king of Israel, Hezekiah the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to rule. He was twenty-five years old when he became king. And he ruled for twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah. Hezekiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David had done. He took away the high places. He broke down the holy pillars used in worship and cut down the Asherah. And he broke in pieces the brass snake that Moses had made. For until

those days the people of Israel burned special perfume to it. It was called Nehushtan. Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah before him or after him. For he held to the Lord and did not stop following Him. He kept His Laws which the Lord had given Moses. And the Lord was with him. Hezekiah did well in every place he went. He turned against the king of Assyria and did not work for him. He destroyed the Philistines as far as Gaza and its land, from the smallest town to the have inherited a bad foundation but you can decide to say no today and start strongest city. – 2Kings 18:1-8 (NIV)

No matter how faulty your foundation may be, if you tap into the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, things will never be the same again.
