Things are Going Well...Now What?

Illus. From sermon central

He was born in Columbus, Ohio, 1890, the third of eight children. At eleven he quit school to help with the family expenses, and got his first full-time job at $3.50 per week. At fifteen he got interested in automobiles and went to work in a garage at $4.50 a week. He knew he would never get anywhere without more schooling, so he subscribed to a correspondence home study course on automobiles. Night after night, following long days at the garage, he worked at the kitchen table by the light of the kerosene lamp. His next step was already planned in his mind--a job with Frayer-Miller Automobile Company of Columbus.

One day when he felt ready, he walked into the plant. Lee Frayer was bent over the hood of a car. The boy waited. Finally, Frayer noticed him. "Well," he said, "what do you want?" "I just thought I’d tell you I’m coming to work here tomorrow morning," the boy replied. "Oh! Who hired you?" "Nobody yet, but I’ll be on the job in the morning. If I’m not worth anything, you can fire me." Early the next morning the young man returned to the garage. Frayer was not yet there. Noticing that the floor was thick with metal shavings and accumulated dirt and grease, the boy got a broom and shovel and set to work cleaning the place.

The rest of the boy’s future was predictable. He went on to a national reputation as a racing car driver and automotive expert. In World War I he was America’s leading flying ace. Later he founded Eastern Airlines. His name--Eddie Rickenbacker.

Today, is yesterdays, tomorrow? Tomorrow brings the Blessings and Favor we pray for today!

So many people get caught up with things that happen today. And they can affect every aspect of your life if you let them. Physically, financially, emotionally, it doesn't matter. Because the devil attacks from all angles and aspects of life!

Things may go well today and Gods Blessings and Favor are in abundance, then out of nowhere. Either from human nature, or brought to light by the accuser comes the thought...

What now?

What about tomorrow?

How could things ever get better than they are right now?

This cannot be sustainable, can it?

You better enjoy it, cause it won't last forever!

And this last one is the kicker! And I know some people think this, because I have been guilty of thinking it myself..."if things get any better, I don't know if I can handle it!"

I don't think that's what Eddie Rickenbacker thought , do you? No, I think he was one who probably said...ok what's next Lord! And that's exactly how we should be in our relationship with God, through His Amazing Son Jesus!

What's next? I don't know what it might be, but whatever it is I'm up for it, because it's gonna be GOOD! Amen?? Life should be lived with Expectancy!!

Romans 8:15-16 MSG

15-17 This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance!

This is what the word says about tomorrow.

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” (Proverbs 27:1, ESV

It seems as though, a lot of times, we can’t wait for tomorrow, its always tomorrow this and tomorrow that, tomorrow will be a better day, oh well...there’s always tomorrow,

To that I say... What about today, what about right now? What about the blessings God has for you today? What about the blessings God has for you right now?

No matter how you are feeling, no matter how your day is going. Does not affect the availability of the blessings that God has already placed in your path for you on any given day!

The thing it does affect is, your availability to them and your ability to recognize them when their right in front of you!

If you are willing to proclaim it and believe and not doubt in your heart, God can take any situation and change it for your benefit, the moment you make the proclamation!

You may not realize it, but while your taking charge and authority over tomorrow and making declarations about tomorrow! And while that is good, in fact that’s great, but what about today?

Sooner or later, you have to realize yesterdays tomorrow, is today.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow…Tomorrow may very well be a good day, but today can be a great day as well, no matter what time of day it is! Amen?

Don't get caught up in thinking you have to wait until tomorrow, or another time to have a good day, or for things to go well for you!

TBS. in Hebrews 11:1 NKJ

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

It says Now Faith, it could've just said Faith but it didn't, it says Now Faith!

Isn't God such a great and awesome God! He knew there would be moments, when we would need to call on Him. Because there would be some right now moments, we would need to take authority over and cut them off at the pass! Before they would ever have time to circle the wagons of distractions for an all out attack!

God can turn things around, any situation, any circumstance, any time of day,

One moment of His favor, can turn an inopportunity to opportunity in a moments time and make a dismal day into a blessed day!

Contrary to what the devil would have you believe, you have a choice! And just

because your having a bad day, doesn’t mean, it has to be the whole day and run into the next one too.

You know, like when Goliath was holding the whole nation of Israel hostage, day after day. Every day they probably said, maybe tomorrow, we will awake and he will be gone.

"Come on tomorrow"....ah man, he's still here! It's like that old joke, Pete and repeat were in a boat... Pete fell out who was left? Repeat!

They were to busy pinning all their hopes on tomorrow!

Until...finally a young boy named David said, Wait a minute, wait just a minute,

My God is Bigger Than This, we don’t have to wait till tomorrow,

We can have hope today, we can have hope right now!

So many people miss the opportunities, they miss the blessings God has for them because they think there somewhere off in the future. While the sweet by and by is certainly going to be beyond description of what's to come.

God is multi faceted, He also has unexplainable acts of Favor and random kindness. Lined up for you each and every day, on your way and all the way to the sweet by and by!! Amen??

John 10:6-10 MSG

6-10 Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.

You see the accuser would have you believe that things are much worse than what they are. He would have you believe all the chaotic and Hannis things that are being done around the world are becoming the wave of things to come and how things will always be.

And sure enough, slowly each and every day society is becoming more and more immuned to what's happening right before our very eyes!

2 Timothy 3:1-5 MSG

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

The devil would have you think that there is no hope for society. And as long as he is involved in the equation there's not, and there never will be!

Let me be the first to tell you if you've never heard...Things are not as though they appear to be! No matter how things may look in the natural,

TBS. Jesus! JESUS is coming back for a GLORIOUS CHURCH!

Ephesians 5:27 NKJ

27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

Let me ask you a question. If Jesus is coming back for a glorious church, what kind of a church do you suppose that's going to be?

A down and out church, or an up and coming church?

A poor and defeated church, or a Blessed and Prosperous Church?

We are living in the last days church, but that doesn't mean God is done or has too, or wants too, stop Blessing His Children!

Our best days are in front of us, not behind us!

We don't have to worry about if God can, or if He wants Bless and show His Children His IMMEASUREABLE Favor and Greatness!!

He does!!

His Word declares over and over, again and again that He wants too!! He takes pleasure in Blessing His children! That means He enjoys helping us out!

Does that sound like He wants any of His Children concerned about tomorrow?

He wants you to know, that He is able to sustain and provide abundant provision for you! Day after day after day...."FOREVER, through out all of ETERNITY,"

Proverbs 10:22 NKJ

“The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it”

Psalms 84:10-12 MSG

One day spent in your house, this beautiful place of worship,

beats thousands spent on Greek island beaches.

I’d rather scrub floors in the house of my God

than be honored as a guest in the palace of sin.

All sunshine and sovereign is God,

generous in gifts and glory.

He doesn’t scrimp with his traveling companions.

It’s smooth sailing all the way with God-of-the-Angel-Armies.

Ephesians 3:20 NKJ

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us!

The same God who created the world, the sun and the moon, also created you!

Matthew 24:35 NKJ

35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

The promises that I've shared with you today, are promises that God will keep forever. Because His word Declares it and His Word never returns void, it always accomplishes what it is sent to do! Amen?

Things are going well, now what? God would have me tell you, buckle up and fasten your seat belts!

If your a child of God this morning, things are only going to get better! If your not, isn't it about time you turned your life over to Him and became a child of God?

He stands ready to have the acceleration of His Favor begin to propel you, into the best is truly yet to come!

Lyndon B Johnson said; Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose.”

Aren't you glad, that Jesus already conquered tomorrow for us!

Every day as a blessed gift from God?

We need to start enjoying them, the way God intended for us to today,

Many times when we hear this, we may be tempted to brush it off and say, “Yeah, yeah, I know. Every day is special.” those are the same people who continually are saying tomorrowwill be better!

Today, is yesterdays tomorrow!

God ordained this day before the foundation of the earth.

*He has already ordered blessings for you.

*He has already lined up the right opportunities for you.

*He has already made sure the door is going to open, the exact moment you need it opened unto you.

Just like the manna, God gave the Israelites, He supplies and freely gives us, everything we need as well!

Remember, we’re not promised tomorrow, so why waste one more moment living life defeated and depressed today?

Problems will come and go, don’t let the accuser make temporary things seem permanent, even if only for an instant!

See every opportunity as a gift. Count your blessings and watch Him multiply them exceedingly all the days of your life!

Each day may come with a different set of circumstances, but remember, Jesus is always the same,

Amen? Amen!
