Summary: Paul address several elements that we need to build a sure ministerial foundation. Make sure to includes these building stones.

HOW CAN I LAY A FOUNDATION FOR MINISTRY??

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

LAY A SURE FOUNDATION...

PAUL WAS A GREAT MAN OF GOD... BUT HE KNEW EACH MAN OF GOD NEEDED A SUPPORT

STRUCTURE AS A FOUNDATION...

WE WILL ALL FACE THE RAIN, THE FLOODS, AND THE WIND.

1. RAIN--- small frequent...

2. FLOOD--- ACCUMULATION of small.

3. WIND--- seek protection and survey damage and repair.

Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto

a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the

winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish

man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds

blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN GAVE A FAMOUS SPEECH ABOUT THE UNITED STATES:

HE WARNED THAT A DIVIDED NATION COULS NEVER ACHIEVE WHAT A NATION WORKING

TOGETHER COULD ACCOMPLISH.

He felt it his job to unite the United States...

Luke 11:17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is

brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord

is not quickly broken.

I heard an Amish man tell about his horse.

One young horse could pull 800 pounds.

The older horse could pull 1,100 pounds.

How much could they both pull together? Logic says 1,900 pounds.

But the facts state together the two horse could pull 2,800 pounds?

How is this possible? Team work.

PAUL IDENTIFIED SOME ELEMENTS TO HELP THE PREACHER ACCOMPLISH GOD'S

GOAL.

Romans 15:30 Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of

the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; 31 That I may be delivered

from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be

accepted of the saints; 32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you

be refreshed. 33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Colossians 4:3 Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak

the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

PAUL KNEW AS A FOUDATION THAT UNITY HAD TO BE A BASIC ELEMENT...

ONE SURE STONE IS UNITY... PRAY FOR UNIITY.

TO LAY A SURE STONE FOR THE FOUNDATION THAT WILL SUSTAIN YOU THROUGH DIFFICULT

TIMES WE NEED DELIVERANCE...

Psalm 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

DESTRUCTIONS (S) PLURIAL...

ANOTHER STONE TO BUILD A SURE FOUNDATION IS ACCEPTANCE... OF THE SAINTS?

Is it strange to have to pray that the saints, co-workers will accept you?

We must overcome bickering's, jealousy, popularity,competition...???

PAUL HAD A CLEAR VISION THAT JOY HAD TO PART OF THE FOUNDATION FOR THE

SURVIVAL OF ANY MINISTRY.

Nehemiah 8:10 The joy of the Lord is our strength.

Philippians 3:1 Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed

is not grievous, but for you it is safe.

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

TO SUSTAIN A HEALTHY MINISTRY WE MUST FIND DIVINE REFRESHMENT FROM THE

PRESENCE OF JESUS...

Romans 15:32 That I may come unto you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.

Acts 3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of

refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

LET US INCLUDE THE SURE STONE OF SUCCESSFUL MINISTRY MUST BE PEACE...

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

ANOTHER STONE TO FIND AND INCLUDE IN OUR SURE MINISTERIAL FOUNDATION IS

FOR US TO FIND THE OPEN DOORS...

Revelation 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for

thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

MAY WE FIND GOD OPPORTUNITIES TO REACH BEYOND OUR COMFORT ZONES.

God help us see these obstacles as opportunities.

CONCLUSION...

Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting

those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

GOD HELP US BUILD ON THE FOUNDATION OF: OPEN DOORS, PEACE, REFRESHING, JOY,

ACCEPTANCE, AND OPEN DOORS...
