Summary: Things That Happened In God's Word Simply Because He Said So Power Point is available upon request

GENESIS 1:3 “BECAUSE I SAID SO – GOD”

A) Four Pictures of “God signs” .......

* “God said” – 46 times ... “The Lord said” – 219 times ... “Jesus said” – 65 times.

B) In today’s modern family when a child asks dad if they could have something

or go somewhere, dad will say, “Ask your mom.” (Vise-versa)

* My dad died when I was two years old, so I didn’t have that privilege.

C) When I was little, just like many of you when I wanted something, or wanted

to go somewhere, I would ask my mom if I could have it, or could I go.

* If she didn’t want me to have something or go somewhere, she would say, “no.”

D) Like most kids after hearing the word no, I would ask, “why?”

* My mama, just like some of yours would simply say, “Because I said so.”

* That’s not the case in many of today’s modern families.

E) If you will just look around, you will see that we are living in what the Bible

calls perilous times.

* Every crazy, sick and diabolical thing that can happen is being done in society today.

* There is nasty, corruptible pieces of filth imaginable coming across our TV’s today.

F) Cartoons aren’t even clean anymore ... Marriages are not lasting long at all.

* We have children having children ... Husbands are killing wives, and wives are

killing husbands ... Mothers are against daughters and fathers are against sons.

G) Right is being called wrong, and wrong is being called right.

* Our nation has passed laws legalizing same sex marriage, and there are churches that

are embracing it.

H) There are churches that are saying that it’s alright to live any type of corrupted

life-style you desire just so long as you come to church and pay your tithes.

* They are sugar coating the Word of God trying to say that it really doesn’t matter what

you do, just so long as your intentions are good.

I) And hear me out ... It doesn’t matter if your intentions are good if your heart

isn’t right, and your soul is on its way to hell – What good is being good?

* So with that in mind I want to begin this message, “Because I Said So,” with this:

YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN – John 3:1-21

A) Nicodemus – He was a ruler of the Jews, meaning he was a member of the Great

Sanhedrin, or Great Council of the nation.

* That would be about as equivalent as that of a senator of our day.

* So he was part of a ruling body of the Jews – He was a lawmaker.

B) The Bible also says that he was “a man of the Pharisees.”

* The general rule was that the Pharisees were bitterly opposed to Jesus.

* They refused to receive His doctrine – They called Him an imposter, even illegitimate.

* The most slanderous words spoken about Jesus while He walked this earth was spoken

by the Pharisees.

C) But we see here that God’s grace is greater than all sin.

* Even a Pharisee could be touched and converted to Jesus. (The Apostle Paul)

* But Nicodemus was a well-respected guy in the realm of Judaism, religion.

* Now I want you to watch the story as it unfolds. (Paraphrase down through v.7) .......

D) There are three words in v.7 that I want to point out ... Read verse.

* Immediately, Nicodemus was curious about these words Jesus used and began to wonder.

* Him, being the intelligent man he was, should have known what Jesus was saying since

Jesus was speaking in Aramaic (Old dialect of Hebrew) as well as Greek.

E) The first word is “must” which is the Greek word “dei” (day), and it means,

necessary (as binding), imposing an obligation.

* The next word is “born.” ... The Greek word is “gennao” (ghan-nah’-o) and means,

to procreate (properly, of the father) conceive, be delivered of.”

* The last word is “again.” ... The Greek word is “anothen” (an’-o-then) meaning,

“from above.”

F) And I don’t think Nicodemus caught that word right off.

* Because he was still thinking about the word, “gennao” (ghan-nah’-o).

* Must be born again – “Dei gennao anothen.” ... Then Nicodemus asked, “How can a

man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s .......”

* Then Jesus goes on and explains to him about the new birth.

LET’S MOVE FORWARD NOW TO OUR DAY AND TIME

A) People ask, “Why ain’t “being good” not enough? ... Let me tell you why .......

* If you ask Jesus why do you have to be born again, He’d say, “Because I said so.”

* Note what Jesus said in John 3:21 “But he that doeth truth cometh to the .......”

B) When you come into the light, you’re supposed to walk in it.

* When you come into the knowledge of who God is, and what God is, then you’re

supposed to walk in that understanding.

* We need to understand that the devil has blinded the minds of people causing them

to believe that all of this stuff they are doing today is alright.

C) He causes people to feel that there is no hope.

* He has captivated the mind and caused the body to be full of darkness.

* 1 Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy .......”

D) Now let me give you some examples in the Word of God – “Because I Said So.”

* My mind goes back to the book of Genesis 1, about the creation.

* God had created everything in this world, and it was good.

E) God created the heaven and the earth, and there was nothing but darkness.

* And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

* Perhaps He just hung them in space, and they were not yet performing their function,

not rotating, not set in motion, not flying through space.

F) Then God divided the waters under the firmament from the waters above the

firmament, (expanse) and He called it heaven (sky) – Second day.

* Then He made dry land – Earth; grass, herb, fruit trees – Third day.

* Divided the day and night – Fourth day ... The stars and moon were made and put in line

to light up the midnight sky.

* The sun was made and put in place to make the day so bright because I said so.

G) The ocean can only come so far until it has to stop.

* The mountains only rise so far until they reach the top.

* How do you know preacher? ... Because God said so.

H) Then God made all the living creatures – Fifth day.

* God created His master piece on the sixth day – Man. ....... Then He made woman.

* All of this came into existence because God said so.

* Here are some more examples .......

ABRAHAM AND SARAH – Genesis 17

A) Abraham was blessed to be the father of many nations, just because God said so.

* Sarah gave birth at the age of 90 years old, in the mind of man this is impossible,

but it happened just because God said so.

MOSES AND THE RED SEA

A) Moses led God’s children to the mighty Red Sea.

* They crossed over on dry land, happy and free because God said so.

DANIEL IN THE DEN OF LIONS

A) God closed the mouths of lions for Daniel, because He said so.

THE MAN AT THE POOL OF BETHESDA

A) The man at the pool of Bethesda had been crippled for 38 long years, but one day,

he took up his bed and began to walk because God said so.

THE NOBLEMAN’S SON HEALED

A) In John 4:46-54 there was a man whose son was at the point of death, and he

wanted Jesus to come to his house and heal his son.

* Jesus said go thy way, thy son liveth ... The man went on his way home, and one of his

servants was coming, found the man and said, “Come on home, your son is alive.”

B) The man asked at what hour did his son begin to get well, and the servant said,

“At the 7th hour ... It was the same time that Jesus said it was so.

* Jer. 1:12 “Then said the Lord unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten .......”

* In other words, God is saying, “When I say it is so, it is so NOW!”

C) There was a man by the name of Lazarus, who was a friend of Jesus.

* Lazarus died, was buried, and had been dead for four days before Jesus ever got there.

D) He was wrapped in grave clothes, and he had begun to stink, but when Jesus,

who is God manifested in the flesh, said, “Lazarus come forth.”

* Death said, “Wait a minute Jesus, He won’t escape my hands – Nobody ever has.”

* Jesus said, “Oh yes he will, because I said so.”

* The grave couldn’t hold him, the grave clothes couldn’t contain him, death didn’t have

any more control over him, simply because God said so.

E) You may be facing a situation in your life that you thought was dead, your situation

may have had you bound unable to give God praise.

* Your situation may even have begun to be a stinking mess, but today it no-longer has

any more power over you, for the Bible says whom the Son hath set free is free indeed.

* Since God said it, it’s so ... You’re no-longer bound, no-longer can that situation control

your life, you are free ... How do I know? ... Because God said so.

F) The doctor may have diagnosed you with a terminal illness, he may say you have

this condition, he may even say you have just this long to live.

* But the Word of God says by His stripes we are healed; therefore, since God said so,

if the doctor said this and God said that, then whose report are you going to believe?

* Just because God said so, no weapon that is formed against me shall prosper.

* That mountain in your life has to go because God said so.

GOD SAID IT IS FINISHED BECAUSE HE SAID SO – John 19:30

A) The devil thought that he had won ... He thought that he had corrupted the world

enough to the point of people having no way out and for them to dead in their sins.

* Oh but God had different plans – He saw that we needed a Lamb.

* He saw that we needed a sacrifice, so He sent His only begotten Son to die on a cross so

that He could be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.

* They crucified and killed my Son, and laid Him in a grave.

B) The devil thought that he had us, but God said, “Arise, My Son.”

* And Jesus got up and walked out of that grave – Because God said so.

JESUS PROMISES US FORGIVENESS

A) He says, “I will give you eternal life, and it’s not because of anything you’ve

said or done – It’s because I said so.”

* Have you made that decision in your life to follow God?

* Have you surrendered your will and submitted it to God? ... Or do you still try to do

things your way?

JESUS IS COMING AGAIN

A) How do I know this? – Because HE SAID SO.

* On that day if you haven’t asked Jesus into your heart and asked Him to forgive you of

your sins then you will be facing the same thing that the devil is facing.

* What is that preacher? – The lake of fire forever ... Why? ... Because God said that you

have to be washed in the blood of the Lamb to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

B) Do you know Him as Lord of your life?

* Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power?

* Are you washed in the blood of the lamb? ... Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?

* Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb? ... If you are, then you are going to a place

called heaven ... Why? – Because God said so.

CLOSE

A) God is so good ... God will take care of us ... Why? – Because He said so.

* He said that He would never leave us or forsake us ... That He is a friend that sticks

closer than a brother.

B) He is good all the time, and all the time, He is good.

* He is the Alfa and Omega – The Beginning and the End.

* He is the Prince of Peace, the Lily of the Valley, the Bright and Morning Star.

C) He is the Great I Am, and He loves you so much that He died for you,

rose on the 3rd day, and has gone to prepare for you a place in heaven.

* Do you know Him? ... He said His sheep would know His voice.

* Why? ... Because I said so - God
