Ps 66:16 Come [and] hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare

Page 537 I will sing because

1. I’m Astonished vs 6

I will sing the wondrous story

Of the Christ Who died for me;

How He left His home in glory

For the cross of Calvary.

John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own

will, but the will of him that sent me.

1John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin

not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father,

Jesus Christ the righteous:2 And he is the propitiation for our

sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole

world.

2. I’m Atoned vs 8

I was lost, but Jesus found me,

Found the sheep that went astray,

Threw His loving arms around me,

Drew me back into His way.

Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own

blood he entered in once into the holy place, having

obtained eternal redemption [for us].

Heb 13:12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people

with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

3. I’m Alleaved vs 9

I was bruised, but Jesus healed me,

Faint was I from many a fall,

Sight was gone, and fears possessed me,

But He freed me from them all.

Rom 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made

me free from the law of sin and death.

Ps 141:10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I

withal escape.

Prov 12:21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked

shall be filled with mischief.

4. I’m Advised vs 10

Days of darkness still come o’er me,

Sorrow’s path I often tread,

But His presence still is with me;

By His guiding hand I’m led.

Prov 5:22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he

shall be holden with the cords of his sins. 23 He shall die

without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall

go astray.

5. I’m Awarded vs 11

He will keep me till the river

Rolls its waters at my feet;

Then He’ll bear me safely over,

Where the loved ones I shall meet.

Rom 8:17a And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs

with Christ;

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to

become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on

his name. 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the

will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Refrain:

Yes, I’ll sing the wondrous story

Of the Christ Who died for me,

Sing it with the saints in glory,

Gathered by the crystal sea.

I John 3: 1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed

upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:

therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew

him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it

doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that,

when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall

see him as he is.
