VIII. MAIN BODY:

2 Samuel 6:21 (Amplified Bible)

David said to Michal, It was before the Lord, Who chose me above your father and all his house to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord. Therefore will I make merry [in pure enjoyment] before the Lord.

2 Samuel 6:21 (New King James Version)

So David said to Michal, "It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord.

A. The LORD GOD chose me and appointed me as ruler/commander over His people.

"David said to Michal, It was before the Lord, Who chose me above your father and all his house to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord."

What does a captain, commander, and a ruler according to the bible?

1. TO BE A LEADER AND SAVE THE PEOPLE FROM THEIR ENEMIES.

1 Samuel 9:16 (Amplified Bible)

Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man from the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be leader over My people Israel; and he shall save them out of the hand of the Philistines. For I have looked upon the distress of My people, because their cry has come to Me.

2. KEEP GOD'S COMMANDS

1 Samuel 13:14 (Amplified Bible)

But now your kingdom shall not continue; the Lord has sought out [David] a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be prince and ruler over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.

3. FEED GOD'S PEOPLE - WITH ALEPH-TAV'S SIGNATURE MEANING THE FEED OR FOOD HIMSELF IS JESUS. - FEED THEM JESUS.

Teach them GOD'S WORDS. Don't hold your peace.

2 Samuel 5:2 (Amplified Bible)

In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And the Lord told you, You shall feed My people Israel and be prince over [them].

Job 29:10 (Amplified Bible)

The voices of the nobles were hushed, and their tongues cleaved to the roof of their mouths.

Proverbs 8:6 (Amplified Bible)

Hear, for I will speak excellent and princely things; and the opening of my lips shall be for right things.

Isaiah 55:4 (Amplified Bible)

Behold, I have appointed him (Him) [David, as a representative of the Messiah, or the Messiah Himself] to be a witness [one (One) who shall testify of salvation] to the nations, a prince (Prince) and commander (Commander) to the peoples.

4. REJOICE BEFORE THE LORD GOD

2 Samuel 6:21 (Amplified Bible)

David said to Michal, It was before the Lord, Who chose me above your father and all his house to appoint me as prince over Israel, the people of the Lord. Therefore will I make merry [in pure enjoyment] before the Lord.

5. BE COURAGEOUS

2 Chronicles 19:11 (Amplified Bible)

And behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the Lord, and Zebadiah son of Ishmael, the governor of the house of Judah, in all the king’s matters; also the Levites will serve you as officers. Deal courageously [be strong and do], and may the Lord be with the good!

6. BE RESPONSIBLE AND BEAR THE SHAME IN EVERY WRONG DECISION YOU MAKE

2 Chronicles 32:21 (Amplified Bible)

And the Lord sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty warriors and commanders and officers in the camp of the king of Assyria. So the Assyrian king returned with shamed face to his own land. And when he came into the house of his god, they who were his own offspring slew him there with the sword.

7. HATE COVETOUSNESS AND UNJUST GAIN AND YOU WILL PROLONG YOUR DAYS OF RULERSHIP.

Proverbs 28:16 (Amplified Bible)

A ruler who lacks understanding is [like a wicked one] a great oppressor, but he who hates covetousness and unjust gain shall prolong his days.

8. BE HUMBLE BEFORE GOD

Ezekiel 28:2 (Amplified Bible)

Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, Thus says the Lord God: Because your heart is lifted up and you have said and thought, I am a god, I sit in the seat of the gods, in the heart of the seas; yet you are only man [weak, feeble, made of earth] and not God, though you imagine yourself to be almost more than mortal with your mind as the mind of God;

9. BE A SHEPHERD TO THE SHEEP

They can no longer strike the Shepherd because they have already done that, the Shepherd is the Winner and He made me a winner over His people. The enemy can only strike the heel of the Shepherd once as it is written, the enemy can't do it twice. The Shepherd, the Sheep and the Pastureland is JESUS. (Jeremiah 50:7) But with one strike of JESUS, the kingdom of the enemy has forever ended because He crushed the head of the enemy.

Matthew 26:31 (Amplified Bible)

Then Jesus said to them, You will all be offended and stumble and fall away because of Me this night [distrusting and deserting Me], for it is written, I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.

Daniel 9:26 (Amplified Bible)

And after the sixty-two weeks [of years] shall the Anointed One be cut off or killed and shall have nothing [and no one] belonging to [and defending] Him. And the people of the [other] prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end shall come with a flood; and even to the end there shall be war, and desolations are decreed.

Daniel 11:22 (Amplified Bible)

Before him the overwhelming forces of invading armies shall be broken and utterly swept away; yes, and a prince of the covenant [with those who were at peace with him] also [shall be broken and swept away].

Genesis 3:15 (Amplified Bible)

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel.

Jeremiah 50:7 (New King James Version)

All who found them have devoured them; And their adversaries said, 'We have not offended, Because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation of justice, The Lord, the hope of their fathers.'

B. Therefore I will laugh before the LORD.

"Therefore will I make merry [in pure enjoyment] before the Lord."

2 Samuel 6:5 (Amplified Bible)

And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord with all their might, with songs, lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.

1 Chronicles 15:29 (Amplified Bible)

As the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the City of David, Michal [David’s wife] daughter of Saul, looking from a window, saw King David leaping as in sport, and she despised him in her heart.

Play or "sachaq" in Hebrew word meaning: "laugh, make merry, rejoice, scorn, sport". Worshipping the LORD is majority making fun in GOD'S PRESENCE, enjoying the LORD's Presence and laughing at GOD'S enemies, scorning them , making a sport of them since you know that GOD already won over His enemies.

IX. CONCLUSION:

Praise, worship, glorify, adore, bless, honor, acknowledge and thank You very much LORD JESUS for I rejoice in You greatly for You are the Commander and Shepherd of Your people.
