Topic: THE JOURNEY OF BENEFICIAL SUFFERING AND AFFLICTION.
Acts 9:15-19 King James Version (KJV)
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name's sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.
Beloved the Christian walk is not one that is all rosy and full of comfort and enjoyment. All these and many many more joyous and happy moments that lasts forever without any form of suffering would be abundantly available when we get to heaven.
But here on earth now, there is suffering. Sometimes, great suffering which the Christian would have to go through as he journeys on this earth.
These sufferings are not just encountered for fun or for nothing. The sufferings come out of challenges, trials and tribulations that we face as Christians on this earth.
As these trials and tribulations and challenges come our way, our Lord God Almighty delivers us from them in spectacular ways by His amazing power and authority.
This brings honour, glory and praise to His holy name. The signs, wonders and miracles that happens to deliver us draw many more to Him and many souls are saved through these.
Beloved, the sufferings or afflictions that we go through always becomes an avenue or means through which souls are won for God.
Anytime you are going through any form of suffering or affliction, just know that God is using you as a tool to win souls for His Kingdom.
Paul the Apostle, went through many many many afflictions for the sake of the name of God. When God mentioned this to Ananias, God was making him know the great extent to which He was going to use Paul to win souls for His Kingdom and true to the Word of God we all see the works of Paul in our Bibles today and can attest to the great work done by Paul. Paul did not just win souls of individuals but of whole cities and nations as well.
Beloved, Jesus went through deep suffering and or affliction and every child of God was made whole for heaven. Not ending there, a means for anybody at all who wants to be a child of God to become so by being saved, without having to pay anything for it but freely become was created forever.
Beloved, no suffering of a child of God has ever been useless, wasteful or of no effect. Our sufferings have always been a means to win souls for God.
Beloved, *IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS* and no one else. Let's serve Him diligently and understand the way of the cross, that, it's the way of suffering and like Jesus, we would all go through our period of suffering and we will come out of it to the glory and praise of the name of God and many souls would be won by what we go through and come out of in Jesus name.
Prayer: Father please strengthen me so I never give up during my times of suffering but go through them, that many souls would be won for you in Jesus name. Amen.
