Summary: This verse was written on the wall in my room. I did not know where it was in the Bible and after reading it , the Holy Spirit spoke and said to me open John 14:6, and told me to take it to Nations that He was the way, the truth and the life.

John 14: 1 - 6

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know. Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

I never knew this until it was written on the wall in my bedroom one night. After I read it I was told to open John 14:6, I opened my Bible and I read out that Jesus told His disciples that He was the way, the truth and the life. And told me to take it to Nations.

Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only one that gives life.

We are looking at it in three parts.

Jesus - The way

Jesus came as the only one that came to show us the way back to the father. He had to be the One to show us the right way to go. He is called Immanuel which means "God with us". It was only through the death and resurrection of Christ that the wall of sin blocking man from God was taking away.

Therefore, it is only through faith in Him that we can be forgiven of our sins and find God in Him. We were separated from God for awhile because of Adam. But because of the love and mercy of God He had to find another way to bring us back to Him.

And this is why Jesus is the only way.

God could not bear the separation that Adam had caused and sent His Only Begotten Son to be our redemption. So, Jesus came to be our redeemer.

Ephesians 2:18

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

Hebrews 10: 19-20

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,

Matthew 27:51

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split.

Jesus came to set us all free from the hands of the enemy who is Satan. The day Jesus appeared to me I saw Satan in deep darkness. And this is why I know that Jesus is real and Satan is real. But thank God that Jesus as revealed Himself as the only way to the father. Without Jesus we would have been lost forever. We are cared for by God and through His Son He made Him to be the way back to His kingdom.

Jesus is the only One that could open the scroll in Luke 4:17-21

And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,

Because He has anointed Me

To preach the gospel to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives

And recovery of sight to the blind,

To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Jesus is the way.

John 10:1-9 records this

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them. Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture."

Jesus is the shepherd of the sheep - we are the sheep and He is the one that leads us back to the father. He said He is the only good shepherd and He had to give up His life for us to be back in fellowship with our creator.

This is the love of God so that we would not remain in darkness. There is n other way to the Father except through His Son. And this is because He shed His Blood on the cross, His blood was stainless, He was without sin and we can now go before the throne of God without condemnation, and it's there that we receive mercy and grace to help us in our time of need.

The Day He appeared to me, He was in front of me and I was behind Him proving to me that He was the good shepherd who came to show us the way to the father.

Jesus is the way to the Kingdom of God.

In our text of John 14: 1- 6. Jesus said to Thomas and us - I am the way.

Jesus - The truth

John 1:17

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Psalm 119:160

The entirety of Your word is truth,

And every one of Your righteous judgements endures forever.

From the beginning of the WORD of God to the end of the WORD is the truth. Jesus is the only truth and according to His WORD all the other gods are false. He said of the Devil that he is the father of all lies and can never abide in the truth.

John 8:42 -45

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.

Deuteronomy 6:14

You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you.

Exodus 20:23

You shall not make anything to be with Me—gods of silver or gods of gold you shall not make for yourselves.

Jesus is the only truth that sets us free from the lies of the enemy and from every wickedness. And because He is a jealous God He has told us not to believe in any other word of the enemy that will put us in captivity.

John 18: 37 - 38

Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?”

Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Jews, and said to them, “I find no fault in Him at all.

Pilate asked Jesus

"What is Truth?"

Jesus who is the truth was standing in front of Pilate, but he failed to acknowledge Jesus as the truth.

John 8:31 - 32

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

When we take Jesus' WORD has the only truth it sets us free from every other lie. The truth is His WORD and He is the WORD of God has recorded in the John 1:1 - 3, 14

John 1: 1 - 3

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

John 1:14

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Jesus the living WORD

He became flesh that we could see , feel and hear Him speak. He lived among us has the living WORD, We saw His glory as the only Begotten Son of the most high God. He was full of the truth and there was not an iota of lie in Him. The WORD of Jesus that He says does not change, because He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

What Jesus says in His WORD is what He means. He cannot and can never change. His truth is what will help us to live as His children if we hold onto it as the WORD of truth.

Ephesians 1:13 - 14

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

Another translation puts it this way

Christ also brought you the truth, which is the good news about how you can be saved. You put your faith in Christ and were given the promised Holy Spirit to show that you belong to God. The Spirit also makes us sure that we will be given what God has stored up for his people. Then we will be set free, and God will be honored and praised. ( CEV )

The true message was preached and as soon as we accepted - believed the message about Christ that came it set us free and we were sealed with the Spirit of truth - the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is also called the Spirit of truth who dwells with us and in us. He is also our helper in life who can give us the power to live a victorious life. Jesus did not leave us as orphans and this is why we have the Spirit of truth living in us because we believed the message of truth.

Jesus is the only truth.

An example of this in my own life is when Jesus as the truth appeared to me. My parents were Christians but unfortunately because of my condition has a Sickle Cell - ( I had it from a very young age ) they were looking for solutions in the wrong places, But when Jesus revealed Himself to me and healed me of the disease I have not had the cause to go to other sources for help to His glory.

Jesus as the only truth healed me and saved me as well.

Mediating on the WORD of truth will make us free because it's the only truth that can set the captives free from every wickedness.

The WORD of God is like a mirror that will point us to the right direction according to James 1:22-25

Jesus - The life

John 10: 10 - 18

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. “Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.

Jesus the life came to give us life in abundance. We all have an enemy who wants to steal, kill and destroy, but we are to submit to God, resist the devil and he has to flee from us. The plan of God is to give us a life of abundance where we can enjoy the benefits of Kingdom of God.

The Kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it by force.

We have life given to us by our Father who sent His Son as the life giver.

In John 11: 17 - 26

Jesus said to Martha that He is the resurrection and the life. He is the only One that gives life to the dead and looking at the scriptures we see Him giving life to the dead.

John 11: 38 - 44

Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay against it. Jesus said, “Take away the stone.” Martha, the sister of him who was dead, said to Him, “Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.”

Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

Luke 7: 11-17

Now it happened, the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of His disciples went with Him, and a large crowd. And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.” Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother. Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen up among us”; and, “God has visited His people.” And this report about Him went throughout all Judea and all the surrounding region.

Mark 5: 36 - 43

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.” And He permitted no one to follow Him except Peter, James, and John the brother of James. Then He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and saw a tumult and those who wept and wailed loudly. When He came in, He said to them, “Why make this commotion and weep? The child is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying. Then He took the child by the hand, and said to her, “Talitha, cumi,” which is translated, “Little girl, I say to you, arise.” Immediately the girl arose and walked, for she was twelve years of age. And they were overcome with great amazement. But He commanded them strictly that no one should know it, and said that something should be given her to eat.

Jesus gives us life. He said to us in his WORD that as we hear his WORD and believe in His Father who sent Him we have everlasting life. Also we that believe has passed from death to life.

Jesus went through death that we could have life. Everything that He did was for us to be free from every lie of the enemy.

John 3: 15-16

That whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

And in Ephesians 2: 4- 5

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

God through the gift of Salvation gave us life so that we would not perish in our sin. And when we receive this free gift of Salvation His WORD says to us that we become new creations according to 2 Corinthians 5:17 -

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

In Christ as new creations the past does not dictate our future because we are now a new specie in Him, all the old things are gone and everything in us becomes new, And this is why we can relate to the Spirit of God who abides in us.

Romans 8:11

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

This is great news!

The same Spirit that rose Our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead is living in us. He that rose Him from the dead will give life to our mortal body because He lives in us.

Jesus came to give us life through His Spirit that is in us.

John 6:53 - 58

Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.

Jesus is the life that came down from Heaven to bring us back to the Father and gave us life. Knowing Jesus as the life and believing in Him will give us eternal life in His presence forever.

Our mortal bodies will surely die but our having a relationship with Christ will help us to know Him as the way, the truth and the life.

When I died I was in His presence. The Kingdom of Heaven and Hell is real, I was privileged to see both sides when I died. I saw Jesus as the life giver and I saw Satan as the one that steals , kills and destroys. I have seen Him that died to gives us life in abundance. Glory!

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
