YOU WILL NEVER BE A BUTTERFLY?
My son played little league baseball in Archer Park in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. The balls fields are in the flood plains of the Big Sandy River. In the spring there are places where the park’s vehicles pass. One year there was a million caterpillars. I saw them climbing down the trees to the ground and they began a journey. They all seemed to be headed somewhere. I love nature and I love to watch life. So for several weeks I watched the wiggle worms. I notice they were all thriving… except where the RUTS were carved in the mud. The caterpillars in the ruts were all green guts? They got stuck in the ruts and when the park vehicles drove by all the caterpillars in the ruts were dead… THEY WOULD NEVER BE A BUTTERFLY, THE RUTS BECAME TRAPS… THE PLAN OF GOD WAS KILLED BY RUTS…
Think about it?

HOW CIRCLUAR CAN LIFE BECOME... SEEMS WE ESTABLISH THINKING PATTERNS?… WE LEARN TO REACT TO SITUATIONS… GOD CALLS US TO WLK BY FAITH…
HABITS?... ATTITUDES?...

BROKEN WINGS?
I am told not many birds can fly with a broken wing?
There are a few exceptions. I am told the eagle can fly with a broken wing.
The eagle lives high on a cliff. When the wind blows just right the eagle can jump of the cliff and ride the wind.
There is a problem, the eagle can only fly in circles. ( large or small) …
TODAY WE TEND TO HOLD CIRCULAR- REPETITIVE
Repetitive nature of a habit? Seems we do things over and over?
THE HABIT THE USUAL WAY OF BEHAVING,
ARE WE TRAPPED AND FRUSTRATED? HAS MY THOUGHT PATTERNS AND REACTION STYLES BECOME LARGE RUTS?
HOW INSANE IS IT TO KEEP DOING THINGS THE SAME OLD WAY AND EXPECT A DIFFERENT OUTCOME…
IF YOU HAVE NEVER FAILED YOU HAVE NOT TRIED NEW THINGS…
Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
THESE THINGS OUGTH NOT BE? CAN YOUR MOUTH BECOME A RUT WHERE WE DIE?
James 3:9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
IT IS IN HOW YOU SAY IT:
Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
THE RUT OF HOW WILL I SAY THIS? Many put their brain in neutral while their mouth is in gear.
There was a well-known family that had a relative that brought much embarrassment to the family. This man chose a life of crime and did many illegal deeds. He ended up in prison many times. Each time the man got out of prison his crime became more serious. Until finally the judge sentence the criminal to death by the electric chair.
There was a family member that decided to write a book about the family history. As the writer was penning the words he decided he did not want to tell of the uncle that died in the electric chair, but he did not want to leave his uncle out of the book after all he was a family member.
After much thought, the man decide he would include his uncle in the book. So the author chose his words very thoughtfully. He wrote of his uncle youth and then he penned this words: WHILE UNCLE WAS AT A FEDERAL INSTITUTION HE WAS IN APPLIED ELECTRONICS, HIS END CAME AS A SUDDEN SHOCK.
Do we see: IT IS ALL IN HOW WE SAY IT? The applied electronics and sudden end, kind of dress up the ugly situation?
YOUR WORDS CAN TRIGGER ACTIONS, THEY BECOME ARE SEEDS… ARE WE TRAPPED BY OUR WORDS?
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
I read a story once about an aerosol propellant called 1,1,1 TRICHLOROETHANE. This propellant was used in many spray products. This propellant can be TOXIC and BRING DEATH. In the early 1980’s young people would spray the aerosol in plastic bags and “PUFF THE FUMES” to get high. So the company placed a warning on the aerosol cans: THIS PRODUCT MAY POSSIBILITY CAUSE BRAIN DAMAGE, SERIOUS INJURY, DEATH IN THE EVENT OF INHALING.
Several teenagers were “PUFFING” and got sick and a few died. Seems they were not believing the warning on the label. Several lawyers studied the dangers and suggested making the labels larger. One lawyer that had teens said, WHAT DO TEENS FEAR MORE THAN DEATH? The answer was APPEARANCE! They worry about how they look. So the warning label was changed: WARNING: SNIFFING THIS PRODUCT CAN CAUSE EXTREME HAIR LOSS AND FACIAL DISFIGUREMENT.
There was not one liability claim since they changed the warning. See it is all in how you say it.
WHAT IS LIFE? IS IT JUST THE DESTINATION, OR MAYBE IS LIFE ABOUT THE JOURNEY? IN THE VALLEY?
THORNS, trials, vexations…

HOW MANY OF US REFUSE TO UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF THE THORN… LIFE IS MORE THAN A DESTINATION ---
WE MUST LEARN, LIFE IS ABOUT THE JOURNEY… GOD HAS A PLAN…
THOMAS EDISON: His teachers told him he was so stupid he could not learning anything. They sent his mom a note, don’t send him back to school.
ULYSSES S. GRANT: was a failed farmer and soldier, at 38 went to work for his father. Grant was known for drinking and smoking stinky cigars. Later Grant was asked by Abraham Lincoln to be the General of the US forces. Grant lead to victory over the south.
Abraham failed in business three times. He had a nervous breakdown. He failed 7 times campaigning. He was defeated in the state election in which he ran. Yet we know him as a beloved president.
LUCILLE BALL: failed and dismissed from a drama school and told she was too shy to accomplish anything.
MICHAEL JORDAN: was cut from his high school basketball team. This hurt him so bad he ran home and locked himself in his room and cried for hours.
THE BEATLES: were rejected by DECCA RECORDING STUDIOS. The experts said of the BEATLES’ MUSIC… we do not like their sound and they have no future in show business.
HENRY FORD: had 3 business failures, and had to start over again at 53.
WALT DISNEY: was fired from a newspaper company for lacking imagination and no creative ideas.
DAVID SANDERS: We know as COLONEL HARDLAND SANDERS. Dropped out high school, joined the army, came home, got a young girl pregnant, married… he came home one day and she left him, he worked selling insurance, at a tire store,
At age 62 he drew his first regular check from Social Security. Rented a place on 25 in Corbin, he started cooking chicken, one day a fancy Cadillac stopped out front… a millionaire name JOHN Y BROWN ate the fried chicken, we all know of KFC--- finger-lickin’ good…
BILL GATES: dropped out of Harvard University. TRAF-O-DATA his first business failed.
STEVE JOBS: was devastated and terribly depressed and being removed from the company he started…
OPRAH WINFREY: had an abusive childhood. She was demoted from her TV job as a news anchor. The station said: Oprah was not fit for television. She was fired.
ALBERT EINSTEIN: could not verbally speak at 4 years of age. His parents thought he was “sub-normal.” His teacher said he would never amount to much. He was expelled from school.
STEPHEN KING wrote a book called CARRIE, IT WAS REJECTED 30 TIMES.
J.K. ROWLING: unemployed, ugly divorce, raising a daughter… On social security… wrote a book you may have heard of? HARRY POTTER. It was rejected by 12 printing companies…
WE MUST WE BEYOND THE RUTS. RUTS ARE OBSTACLES…
I ASK FOR A VOLUNTEER? THEN I ASK MY VOLUNTEER TO COME TO ME AND I EXPLAIN WHAT I WANT THEM TO DO? GO OVER TO THE CORNER AND GET AN EMPTY GLASS AND GO GET ME SOME WATER…
It is a straight walk. I ask them to wait. I set up a chair in their path. Then I sit two chairs a few feet away?
Will you go get the glass now? Of course they will? But this alters the path they have to take. As they get the glass I have ask a few men to stand in the aisle going to the water fountain. (Not to do anything but to stand in the path.)
The person has to go a more indirect path, around the obstacles. But they can still get the glass of water.
GOD IS MORE THAN ABOUT THE DESTINATION, GOD DESIRES US TO ARISE BEYOND…
BEYOND THE FRUSTRATION.
Frustration: the fact of being prevented from succeeding or doing something, a feeling of anger or annoyance caused by being unable to do something, anything that can cause feelings of anger or annoyance,
LONELINESS and FRUSTRATION are kissing cousins, when you marry into the family they go together…
A deep chronic sense or state of insecurity and dissatisfaction arising from unresolved problems or unfulfilled needs
1. Maturity must grow beyond our littler personal PET PEEVES or issues that are IRRITANTS.
2. AVOID LOW LEVEL THINKING. I DREAD MONDAYS? I have my head down?
3. STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT EVERYTHING. Look for the good or shut up!
4. NEVER BE A DEAD FISH FLOATING DOWN STREAM. DON’T DRIFT AIMLESSLY THROUGH LIFE. Just killing time.
5. MY FRIEND, WATCH YOUR WORDS AND YOUR ATTITUDES.
6. I DON’T CARE WILL BACKFIRE. JESUS CARES AND SO DO WE.
7. REVENGE IS GOD’S TERRITORY. Don’t steal from God.
8. FIND JOY IN MENIAL DAILY CHORES. Enjoy life!
9. WORRY AND FEAR HAVE LITTLE PROFIT. Why invest in them?
CONCLUSION: DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING… CLEARLY LIFE IS NOT A STRAIGHT LINE, THERE ARE MANY THORNS ALONG THE WAY. OBSTACLES… STRETCH OUR FAITH. Reach higher. Why aim for the muddle puddles? Get up and reach higher. You have the key to set yourself free?
