In this prayer sermon, we focus on breaking covenants attached to delay and impossibility in marriage. No copyrights are intended to be broken. This is an original sermon by pastor Oke. God is merciful but these prayers work best when you have taken the decision to give your self to Jesus and accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior. Invite as many people as possible to Sermon Central to read and study sermons.

There are millions of individuals, male and female, who are experiencing delays and impossible circumstances in the area of marriage. Some are in their 50s, and have never had a man say to them, let me even take you out for a drink.

Many have given up on settling down and experiencing the simple joy of being wanted and loved by someone else who is not their family member. They look at their friends whose children have grown up and are at marrying age and wonder where they went wrong.

Many men are so scared that they will never have enough money to take care of themselves let alone a spouse.

DON’T GIVE UP. SALVATION HAS COME THROUGH THIS SERMON INSPIRED BY JESUS TODAY!

1 Corinthians 10:13 English Standard Version states

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”

Every temptation you go through or that you have been going through for years is just a simple opportunity for Master Jesus to prove himself once again as your Lord and Savior from the worst situations and circumstances.

We are focused on breaking evil covenants and monumental delays against marriages.

The Marriage Institution (note the capitals) is the most attacked of the institutions God gave us. Why? Because it represents His divine plan for humanity, The marriage covenant between Christ and the CHURCH;

Ephesians 5:31 is a quotation of Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5 and Mark 10:7, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one.” Then Paul adds in verse 32: “This is a great mystery, and I take it to mean Christ and the church.” The mystery is the Joy, Love and Design our Maker has for His creation.

The union of man and woman in marriage is a mystery because it conceals, as in a parable, a truth about Christ and the church. The divine reality hidden in the metaphor of marriage is that God ordained a permanent union between His Son and the church. Human marriage is the earthly image of this divine plan. As God willed for Christ and the church to become one body (Gal. 3:28; 1 Cor. 12:13), so He willed for marriage to reflect this pattern; that the husband and wife become one flesh (Gen. 2:24).

God is quick to reward anything that replicates his Son’s marriage with His bride, the Church.

Because of that the Marriage Institution is attacked or bastardized or upturned. Today unfortunately, you see same sex marriages, that are not sanctioned in God’s word, you see all kinds of perversion, people having children and living together without their union being sanctified and so on. But the worst situation is when the enemy uses wiles, curses, incantations, evil covenants, spells and witchcraft to delay or stop marriages.

A curse is any expressed wish (spoken, written, sung) that some form of adversity or misfortune will befall or attach to some other entity: one or more persons, a place, or an object.

An incantation is a magical formula intended to trigger a magical effect on a person or objects. The formula can be spoken, sung or chanted. An incantation can also be performed during ceremonial rituals or prayers. Other words synonymous with incantation is spells, charms or to bewitch.

A covenant, remember, is an agreement between at least two entities to do certain things that will bring certain outcomes to pass. Usually these outcomes will either benefit the parties involved or keep them in line as per the requirements.

Covenants can be a contract, a compact, a treaty, a pact, an accord, a deal, a bargain, a settlement, a concordat, a protocol, an entente, an agreement, an arrangement, an understanding, a pledge, a promise, a bond, an indenture, a guarantee, a warrant; an undertaking, or a commitment.

In the spirit realm covenants activate or for use of a better word, unleash certain forces that go to carry out the wishes of the parties involved in the covenant.

Curses, spells, incantations, witchcraft, covenants have a few characteristics. I will just list the pertinent ones to our prayer sermon.

1. They can be or are binding, that is, parties involved must be in obedience to the agreement.

2. They can hold those not directly involved in making them bound to them.

3. Disobeying them can lead to negative consequences for even third parties not privy to them.

4. When covenants are made using body fluids like blood, or excretions like saliva, or sweat they become even more binding.

5. There are spiritual forces both good or bad always at the ready to enforce curses, spells, incantations, witchcraft, covenants. (Angels and Demons)

Fortunately for us, Proverbs 26:2 states, “As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.” A causeless curse is that which is uttered against one who has done nothing to deserve such denunciation.

As stated earlier, a lot of people are experiencing delays or impossibilities in marriage because of manipulations, spells, incantations, curses and evil covenants that they do not know about, or those that they made ignorantly, or in throes of passion, while being depressed or saddened, or that strangers, others or their parents and ancestors made on their behalf.

A few examples.

• A brother and sister made a covenant to marry and not have children for any other but themselves. Unfortunately, the brother passed on in a road traffic wreck. After a while when no one else was coming the sister went to a church where they pray prayers of deliverance. A personality spoke through her saying she was in covenant with a local deity and because she had been married spiritually to this deity no one could marry her!

• A sister was approaching the age of 40 and no suitors came. I was jogging around the neighborhood and decided to stop by my neighbor’s house for a few minutes when I met her. She was weeping that early morning and I was filled with compassion. I said, “close your eyes, let us pray”. As we prayed the spirit of God said, she had self-confessed in a few moments of depression, that she really didn’t care if she was married or not. Of course, the Accuser of the Brethren, picked up on her words and had the right to put delays in her way. She renounced the confessions and a couple of months later I was walking the neighborhood, when I saw a stretch limousine. She was the one about to be married!

• A young lady was delayed in marriage and came to our prayer ministry for a program. At the program the Lord revealed, that she was married. I questioned her and she said no. I asked the spirit of God and was shown a vision of two men and a baby crawling in the front garden. One man said to another, “I would like to marry this your daughter when she is of marrying age.” The other man, (the child’s father, not to offend his friend, asked him to produce a bottle of Whiskey as a bride price). The other fellow went to his house and brought a bottle of whiskey. They opened it and drank together laughing about the “joke”. The Lord said that, that was a genuine marriage covenant and it had to be broken before the sister could marry. Luckily the two old men were still alive, and the father bought the same kind of bottle of whiskey, returned it to his friend and the friend rescinded the desire. A couple of months a later the sister was married. In fact, the guy was in such a hurry to marry her she was taken aback!

• A sister turned 50 and had no suitors even though she was a medical doctor. At a prayer meeting, God’s spirit revealed her umbilical cord was left in the attic and that because of that her destiny had been suspended. She went home in her place of birth, searched the attic, and a fresh umbilical cord was there even though it was 50 years old!

In Jeremiah 32:27 he says, “I am the God of all flesh, is there anything too hard for me?” Of course, the answer is, “No!” If nothing is too hard for him, then neither is your marital restoration, no matter what you’ve done or has been done to you. As well as restoring the years that the locusts have eaten for Judah, he promises to take pity on them and send them new grain, new wine and new oil so that they will be fully satisfied (Joel 2:18-19). He will do the same for you, if you turn to him and ask him. Believe his promises.

God can make a way out of no way via His Word, Just look at these verses; (Meditate on them)

1. Isaiah 41:10 ESV Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

2. Micah 2:13 ESV He who opens the breach goes up before them; they break through and pass the gate, going out by it. Their king passes on before them, the Lord at their head.

3. Romans 8:31 ESV What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

4. Isaiah 54:17 ESV No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”

5. Jeremiah 29:11 ESV For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

6. 1 Peter 5:7 ESV Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

7. Isaiah 41:13 ESV For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.”

8. Proverbs 16:3 ESV Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

9. Isaiah 43:19 ESV Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

10. Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

11. 1 John 4:18 ESV There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

12. Hebrews 13:5 ESV Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

13. 2 Peter 3:9 ESV The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

14. John 4:24 ESV God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

15. Isaiah 40:31 ESV But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

16. Psalm 27:1 ESV Of David. The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

17. Joshua 1:9 ESV Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

I always remind us of The Finished work on the cross at Calvary. The New Covenant.

The most important element of the new covenant is the Blood of Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament, blood sacrifices were required for cleansing and atonement when the Law was broken. Under the new covenant, Jesus Christ provided His own body on the cross as a sacrifice that would purify once, for all time, those who had faith (Hebrews 10:10, 14) “10 And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”

(Colossians 2:14) “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances against us, He has taken it away nailing it to the cross”

So, as a child of God’s Covenants, REMEMBER when someone or entities or powers make a pact or covenant with the death of your marriage, you have a right to rise in Holy anger and pray yourself out of the situation.
