The Bible says the blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). When you receive Christ as your Lord and savior God does not forgive your sins, rather he remits them. To remit means to let go of one’s offence as though they never existed. In other words, God looks at you as if you never did anything wrong, he does not count your sins. 2 Corinthians 5:19 says, “God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them”. To remit is greater than to forgive because God looks at you like you never did anything wrong, but to forgive would mean that he still looks at you like a criminal. There is no karma in Christ, the blood of Jesus Christ has made the karma law null and void.
If God has chosen not to remember your sins, why should you live in regret. If he has forgotten your past, he is telling you to also forget. Someone might wonder, “How can that be?” Ephesians 1:17 gives us that answer, it says he did this according to the riches of his grace. So God has completely separated man from his sins as though he never committed any sin, by virtue of the blood of Jesus Christ. Under the old covenant, blessings came when the people obeyed the law, but when they disobeyed curses would come upon them. In the new Testament we are blessed because one man (Jesus Christ) obeyed the law for all us, and because of his obedience, God said all of us obeyed the law through Christ. And because Christ never disobeyed, there are no curses in the new covenant. This is why it is called grace, no curse only blessings. Grace came by Jesus Christ (John 1:17).
