The Bible is so important for many reasons , its our guide through storms , its our light in times of darkness .
The big reason is at least for me it is how God speaks to us
Hebrews 1:1God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, 2in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
In the beginning was the Word , and the word was with God and the word was God
God is speaks to us through His Son, His son is speaks to us through His word and the answers and lessons are just screaming off the pages of your Bible , and the Bible even tells us that .
Proverbs 1:20Wisdom shouts in the street,
She lifts her voice in the square;
21At the head of the noisy streets she cries out;
At the entrance of the gates in the city she utters her sayings:
22“How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded?
And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing
And fools hate knowledge?
23“Turn to my reproof,
Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you;
I will make my words known to you.
Scoffers scoff at the idea and fools cant understand these things
But If you want the wisdom of Solomon ,
If you want the faith of Abraham it will comes from His word , because faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God .
2Kings 2: 1Now Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab. 2And Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber which was in Samaria, and became ill. So he sent messengers and said to them, “Go, inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover from this sickness.” 3But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria and say to them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are going to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron?’ 4“Now therefore thus says the LORD, ‘You shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but you shall surely die.’” Then Elijah departed.
5When the messengers returned to him he said to them, “Why have you returned?” 6They said to him, “A man came up to meet us and said to us, ‘Go, return to the king who sent you and say to him, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.’”’” 7He said to them, “What kind of man was he who came up to meet you and spoke these words to you?” 8They answered him, “He was a hairy man with a leather girdle bound about his loins.” And he said, “It is Elijah the Tishbite.”
9Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him, and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. And he said to him, “O man of God, the king says, ‘Come down.’” 10Elijah replied to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then fire came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.
11So he again sent to him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he said to him, “O man of God, thus says the king, ‘Come down quickly.’” 12Elijah replied to them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from heaven and consume you and your fifty.” Then the fire of God came down from heaven and consumed him and his fifty.
13So he again sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. When the third captain of fifty went up, he came and bowed down on his knees before Elijah, and begged him and said to him, “O man of God, please let my life and the lives of these fifty servants of yours be precious in your sight. 14“Behold fire came down from heaven and consumed the first two captains of fifty with their fifties; but now let my life be precious in your sight.”15The angel of the LORD said to Elijah, “Go down with him; do not be afraid of him.” So he arose and went down with him to the king. 16Then he said to him, “Thus says the LORD, ‘Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron—is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of His word?—therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.’”
You’re a special kind of person if you think that doing the same thing that got you into trouble, and expect it to rescue get you out of trouble.
The king Ahaziah, obviously a sinner, obviously turned from YHWH and worshiped Baal-zebub ,
Baal means the Lord and zebub is the dragon with wings . Thought to be of power and speed .
So the king had turned from YHWH to worshiped the God of the dragon fly and was looking for his answers from baal zebub .
You might think this is so strange and wicked to turn from God and search other Gods
Now a days you would say this wouldn’t happen ,
But people day in and day out are doing this very thing and not even worried about it .
Instead of people turning to God for help and answers they turn to the internet
King Ahaziah of Israel was king for only two short years from 853—852 BC.
And in that short time was able to lead all his people astray
He was the son of Ahab and Jezebel, and not surprising this family was the most wicked rulers Israel ever had.
As he laid in bed from his injuries he sent his messengers to ask the prophets of Baal zebub if he would ever recover.
That’s like having people pray to web md ,

I don’t care what that little phone in your hand says ,
God is still the one who all makes the decisions and He is the one with the answers .
The information super highway , Oh the Bible tells us there will be a highway ,
Isaiah 33:8
The highways are deserted; travel has ceased. The treaty has been broken, the witnesses are despised, and human life is disregarded.
Have you ever noticed how fast bad news travels on the super hwy , but good news , you barely hear about it.
But bad news, bad news travels like lightning, because of the appetite the world has.
I mean how many times it takes for people to get burnt before they wake up.
You can take this to the bank ….
When you turn from God , you are automatically turning right into trouble,
Heaven and earth will pass away but Gods word will never pass away
And it doesn’t matter how many times you come back for a different answer
How many times you search the world wide web , the word is always going to be the same.
The truth is the truth .
I don’t like that answer , search again , I still don’t like it search again until you find some web site , some Facebook post that agrees with what you want to hear
That’s exactly what king Ahaziah was doing, searching and searching for a different answer
But the message was still the same , you made your bed and now you will lie in it and that will be where you die.
The first group of 50 got torched , the bad news traveled back so fast
That the king said lets search again the King sent another 50 and they got burnt .
Isn’t it a picture of hell , turning from God and turning right to the fire
It wasn’t until the third group that someone said you know what,
What we are doing just isn’t working , the way we are living
We got this all wrong
Because if I have figured a few things out
That # 1 That the God of Elisha He isn’t very happy right now
# 2 That Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron the dragon God isn’t doing anything to save us in fact baal zebub is the problem .
Why should it take seeing others getting destroyed over and over again and like this last captain finally bring us to our knees
Its not where you spend hours upon hours on your phone searching and seeking , its where you will spend eternity .
