Summary: It has been rightly said, "When the purpose of a thing is not known abuse is inevitable." God's interested in showing us secret things. It's time to come out of spiritual blindness and deafness.

THE MYSTERY OF REVELATIONAL PRAYER!

"So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.” 1 Samuel 30:8. Revelation prayer is the key to breakthroughs and recovery.

David would not depend on his own skills, experiences, knowledge or strength, he knew God's ways are far higher than ours, despite the desperate situation he and people were in, still, he makes time to seek God's face in revelation about the matter at hand. When ever he was faced with problems, David always enquired of the Lord first. The victory that came thereafter was sweat less. David recovered all that was lost. Learn to enquire first before you launch into other kinds of prayers.

There are many kinds of prayer in the Bible:

1. Prayer of Thanksgiving.

2. Prayer of Petition.

3. Prayer of Intercession.

4. Prayer of Binding and Loosing.

5. Prayer of faith.

6. Prayer of Agreement.

7. Prayer of Supplication

8. But one of the greatest prayer to pray is the prayer of enquiry.

The prayer of enquiry will open you up to the strategies and secrets of God.

WHAT'S THE PRAYER OF ENQUIRY?

1. It is a 'question and answer' session with God.

Prayer is two-way communication. It involves man speaking to God and God speaking to man. Questioning is vital in every communication. It's an appeal or demand for an answer, or for more information. Questioning is used to clarify a point. It help us to express our feelings and to communicate our fears and frustration.

There's nothing wrong with questioning God. He's not angry when we ask questions. In fact, He invites us to ask questions. God never rebuke us when we comes to Him with sincere questions or honest doubts.

2. The prayer of inquiry is reasoning with God (Isaiah 1:18).

3. It is prayer for direction. Job.34:32.

4. The prayer of enquiry is asking the Lord what to do about a particular situation before you start praying binding and loosing prayers.

5. It gives insight and direction.

6. Prayer of enquiry is a prayer from the heart.

7. It is having a roundtable discussion with God about the issues of your life.

8. Prayer of enquiry is seeking prayers.

9. It is asking to know God's will concerning an issue.

10. Prayer of enquiry is Revelational prayers.

When you are at the crossroads of life and don't know what to do, there are some questions you need to ask God: Why? Which? How? and When?

HOW DO WE GO ABOUT IT?

1. Find a quiet place. Avoid distractions.

2. Enter into His gate with praises and thanksgiving.

3. Communicate. Remind God of His promises. Talk to Him about your daily troubles, thoughts, hopes and dreams. (Matthew 7:7)

4. Pay attention to possible feedback.

5. Have faith to receive. Don't be afraid.

6. Be patient.

God is a God of revelation! Don’t be so much in a hurry to make important decisions when faced with challenges or choices whether small or big.

DIVINE INVITATION

"Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Jeremiah 33:3.

From the verse above:

1. God invited Jeremiah and everyone to come to Him in faith-filled prayer.

2. He promise to answer our prayers. We should expect answers.

3. He will show us great and mighty things (divine revelation) as we pray.

So what are you waiting for? Are you going to honour the invitation or not? God invites you to call Him in prayer today. There's no reason to procrastinate.

THE HOLE IN THE WALL REVELATION

"8 Then He said to me, “Son of man, dig into the wall”; and when I dug into the wall, there was a door. 9 And He said to me, “Go in, and see the wicked abominations which they are doing there.” 10 So I went in and saw, and there—every sort of creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed all around on the walls. 11 And there stood before them seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and in their midst stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan. Each man had a censer in his hand, and a thick cloud of incense went up. 12 Then He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say, ‘The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land." Ezekiel 8:8-12.

The leaders of the nation of Israel were going about their businesses believing their sins were hidden from the people. They failed to realize that God saw everything they did. He knew every thought, every action. And He knew the many ways they had tried to cover their sins. Yet, they could not hide from Him. God sees all things and showed the prophet Ezekiel through a revelation of a 'hole in the wall'. Information is a gradual revelation. Prophet Ezekiel gained some insights, knowledge and information kept from many people. There are certain information that are deep and are secrets. By divine revelation, he was able to see concealed, confidential information.

God has secrets. (Deuteronomy 29:29)

"He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him." Daniel 2:22.

"Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets." Amos 3:7.

God is still revealing these secrets to His servants.

EVERY PROBLEM HAS A ROOT!

"6 Then Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of the Lord until evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads. 7 And Joshua said, “Alas, Lord God, why have You brought this people over the Jordan at all—to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? Oh, that we had been content, and dwelt on the other side of the Jordan! 8 O Lord, what shall I say when Israel turns its back before its enemies? 9 For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear it, and surround us, and cut off our name from the earth. Then what will You do for Your great name?” 10 So the Lord said to Joshua: “Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face? 11 Israel has sinned, and they have also transgressed My covenant which I commanded them. For they have even taken some of the accursed things, and have both stolen and deceived; and they have also put it among their own stuff. 12 Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they have become doomed to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore, unless you destroy the accursed from among you." Joshua 7:6-12.

The children of Israel had just conquered the city of Jericho. God instructed them to utterly destroy and not to take anything out of it. But the people disobeyed and God was upset with them. They thought everything was alright. What they didn't know was that there was a problem in the camp. There was a man in their midst who was causing problems for the entire nation. The next city on their path was Ai, a much smaller city compared to Jericho. Joshua sent men to Ai but they suffered a terrible blow. They were defeated and 36 men of Israel were killed.

Unlike David, nowhere in this passage does it even hint that Joshua sought the face of God. If he had, God would have revealed the problem before the people died. After the tragedy, Joshua went to complain to the Lord. In his anger, he prayed some enquiry prayers, and God made him to know the reason for the defeat.

Beloved, when there is a problem, we need to look within and see where the problem is, before we pray cast out demons prayers. The question we need to ask when things start falling apart is, "What's the source of this problem?"
