FOUNDATION KEYS TO ACHIEVING JUBILEE PART 1

TEXT: Leviticus 25:12, Deuteronomy 28:12

INTRODUCTION

The vision of the year is to achieve Jubilee . As we know, that every promise of God has a responsibility, and this requires manifestations of Love, giving, obedience to God and selfless service that attract God's commendations. The release and manifestations of supernatural glory, exercising the liberty in Christ Jesus is this jubilee. Today we shall narrow our study to love and giving;

1) LOVE

The foundation of Christianity is love and this is the reason for our sure foundation and eternal victory. Every other activity done by Christians or church without love cannot stand the test nor bear fruits. 1 Corinthians 13:1-3. Love fulfills all other commandments – John 13:34-35, 1 Corinthians 13:13, John 15:12. We cannot fulfill the commandment without love. Love identifies us that we are God’s family – 1 John 4:7-8, 16, and 26. Love wins favour and good name- Proverbs 3:3-4. Love corrects - Hebrews 12:6, Proverbs 3:12, the purpose is to correct, restore and not to condemn. The absence or withdrawal of love can kill -1 John 3:15(Discuss). Discuss this scripture ; John 15:13 and relate it to our present lives. The promise for lovers of God still remain a wonder - 1 Corinthians 2:9.

2) GIVING

We cannot love without giving - John 3:16. Giving is an act of worship to God - Romans 12:1. Givers are key holders to doors of blessings and favour - Proverbs 18:10. They have access to the dwelling of blessings and grace. There is no reward when we give with evil motives, selfishness and deceit - Proverbs 21:27, Philippians 2:3.

Let us consider some of the basic laws of giving:

* 1st law of giving - "God is the greatest giver" - 2 Corinthians 9:10

When we recognize that God gives us all things and the best, then we know that every gift we have is a privilege and we must give out of the gifts. We are but the caretakers and not the owners of these gifts.

* 2nd law of giving: "A generous person prospers" - Proverbs 11:25

Givers do not lack and whoever blesses another shall be blessed also.

* 3rd law of giving: "You reap what you sow" - 2 Corinthians 9:6

There is a measure of payment or reward supported by nature and divinity. A giver is like a farmer planting seeds in the field and waiting for harvest

* 4th law of giving: "It is more blessed to give than to receive" - Acts 20:35

There is more profit when you are the giver than the receiver. As it is written in the Bible, Deuteronomy 15:6 that we shall lend to nations, even Lenders are valuable than beggars.

* 5th law of giving: Give cheerfully" - 2 Corinthians 9:7

We should be cheerful and hopeful because it is through giving that we will increase the more, knowing that it is a good investment that does not fail.

Should wrong "paybacks" make us to stop giving? Discuss 1 Peter 3:9, Romans 12:19

CONCLUSION

Love like Jesus Christ and reign like Him everlasting. Lead the students to make commitments and vows to improve in their weaknesses as you pray for them.
