Summary: What does God require of His people? Can external habits reveal internal problems? What kind of seeds of kindness are you planting? Random acts of kindness? Planned, purposed seeds?

THE SEEDS OF KINDNESS---

By Wade Martin Hughes, Sr. Kyfingers@aol.com

I have pill sizes baggies with about 10 seeds in each one, random. I also put two cheerios for donut seeds? What will you grow?

*QUESTION: CAN EXTERNAL HABITS REVEAL INTERNAL PROBLEMS?

WHAT DOES GOD REQUIRE AND EXPECT OF HIS PEOPLE? DO WE DREAM OF MORE?

THE SEEDS OF KINDNESS.

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

Can we understand how easy it is in life to drift down stream? Even dead fish can float downstream. But God has a plan. He has already made it plain for us to know how to live and sow seeds of kindness. God wants us to know what to do. He desires and expects for us in our menial daily living TO BE KIND. God’s plan is pretty simple. He desires us to love others and keep his commandments. GOD EXPECTS US TO LOVE AND BE KIND. We tend to take ourself too seriously and to take eternal things and God’s eternal plans to lightly. God desires us to BE KIND and do what is fair and just to your neighbor. This kindness is to be compassionate and loyal.

JESUS TEACHES US A LESSON ON THE SEEDS OF KINDNESS… THE SEEDS OF KINDNESS MAKE A DIFFERENCE. WE MUST GIVE A GREATER EFFORT THAN LEFTOVERS… QUE SERA, SERA?

Jesus is preparing a great lesson on ATTITUDES.

Matthew 10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

THE SEEDS OF KINDNESS! WANT TO THINK ABOUT KINDNESS? DAVID WAS KING. HIS MEN LOVED HIM SO MUCH. THEY HAD BEEN AWAY FROM HOME IN THE HEAT OF THE BATTLE A LONG TIME. ONE NIGHT AS THEY GATHERED AROUND THE CAMP FIRE, DAVID WAS THINKING OUT LOUD, HE SAID: WOW, HOW GOOD THE WATER FROM HOME WOULD TASTE RIGHT NOW…

King David laid down to rest. One of his kind soldiers said: DID YOU HEAR THE KING? Let us do a KIND DEED for the KING! 3 men said, if we travel fast we could be at the well and back by morning. They endangered their lives. They lost a night’s sleep. 3 men were SO KIND. They ran all night. They grabbed a canteen of water from the WELL AT HOME. Then got back to camp about day break.

1 Chronicles 11:17 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate! 18 And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD, 19 And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mightiest.

DAVID WOKE UP ALL REFRESHED AND WAS TAKING HIS BATH AND THE 3 MEN BOLDLY APPROACHED THE KING. Their KINDNESS WAS A GIFT TO THE KING. The 3 soldiers said: King we love you and appreciate you so much. HERE IS OUR GIFT TO YOU: WATER FROM THE WELL AT HOME.

My opinion David was crying as he held the CRUISE OF WATER. He thanked them for their KINDNESS. He stood and held the GIFT OF KINDNESS. I think he looked his 3 brave men in the eye and HE COUNTED THE COST OF KINDNESS of his soldiers.

KINDNESS? KINDNESS? AS DAVID STOOD AND COUNTED THE COST OF KINDNESS OF HIS MEN HE THOUGHT, I CAN’T DRINK THIS. I CAN’T? WILL HIS SHOULDERS UNDERSTAND WHAT DAVID IS ABOUT TO DO? THIS ACT OF KINDNESS REQUIRED AN OFFERING… HE POURED THE KINDNESS OFFERING ON THE GROUND TO GOD. DAVID GAVE THEIR EFFORT THE HIGHEST OFFERING OF RETURN. DAVID RETURNED THE KINDNESS OFFERING AS AN OFFERING TO A HOLY GOD.

MY OPINION? EARLY THAT MORNING THERE WERE 4 MEN STANDING AROUND THE CAMP FIRE CRYING AND PRAISING GOD. The 3 mightiest men loved their King and loved their God…THE GREAT I AM!

SEEDS OF KINDNESS? WE HEAR OF RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS? GOD SEARCHES FOR PLANNED, PURPOSED KINDNESS AND GIVING! LOVE GIVING. YOU EVER HEARD OF GRUDGINGLY KINDNESS?

2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

James 5:9 Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

1 Peter 4:9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

WOW… SEEDS FOR IN-LAWS KINDNESS … THE SEEDS OF KINDNESS BEAR FRUIT…

Ruth 1:16 And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: 17 Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me.

Ruth 2:20 And Naomi said unto her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the LORD, who hath not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said unto her, The man is near of kin unto us, one of our next kinsmen.

Ruth 3:10(A) And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast shewed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning,

WHILE RUTH WAS KIND TO NAOMI, GOD RETURNED THE KINDNESS TO HER. RUTH MARRIED BOAZ… THEY HAD A SON NAMED OBED. OBED HAD JESSIE. JESSIE HAD DAVID … JESUS WAS BORN OF THE SEED OF DAVID… THE SEED OF THE KINDNESS OF A STRANGER LADY NAMED RUTH. SEEDS OF KINDNESS ARE REPAID.

TODAY WE PRACTICE RANDOM SEEDS FOR KINDNESS… LOOK AT THE SEEDS MEN AND WOMEN PLANTED IN THE BIBLE…

ADAM AND EVE PLANTED SEEDS… REAP SWEAT, PAIN AND DEATH.

MARY WAS KIND TO LOAN HER BODY AND REPUTATION TO GOD.

THE WISE MEN PLANTED SEEDS OF GOLD, FRANKINCENSE, MYRRH --- HELPED SUSTAIN BABY JESUS IN HIS FIRST YEARS.

A KIND LITTLE BOY GIVES HIS LUNCH

John 6:9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

KINDNESS OF FOUR MEN CARRIES THE BED OF A PARALYSIS PATIENT.

DORCAS (TABATHA) KINDNESS BUYS MATERIAL AND THREAD AND SOWS.

THE CERTAIN PRIEST, CERTAIN LEVITE, A GOOD SAMARITAN WHICH ONE WAS KIND?

IN KINDNESS JOSEPH ARIMATHEA LOANS HIS GRAVE TO JESUS.

OFTEN PEOPLE ARE KINDER TO STRANGERS AND ANIMALS THAN THEY ARE TO THEIR OWN FAMILY?

2 Peter 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

It is Jewish tradition for people’s behavior to fulfill obligations to their family. Jesus is asking us to go deeper than just kindness. Jesus ask us to come in passion, compassion and generosity. TO STEP BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY.

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:32 (MSG) Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.

CONCLUSION: GOD ASKS US TO VOLUNTEER TO GO BEYOND THE FIRST MILE. IF WE ARE COMPELLED WE NEED TO GO BEYOND HAVE TO --- Why do “WE ALLOW MEDIOCRE KINDNESS TO THRIVE?” Can external habits reveal internal problems? We are satisfied to do RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS. That is good! But GOD DESIRES US TO GROW PLANNED, PURPOSED ACTS OF KINDNESS ON A REGULAR BASIS. Kindness must begin at home.

I heard on Gospel radio a Father was screaming and yelling at his daughter to quit screaming and yelling. The teen turned to her Dad and said: Is that hypocritical to scream and yell at me and tell me to quit screaming and yelling?

Are you sowing seeds of kinds? You reap in proportion of the amount you sow? Sow mediocre seeds, why expect to reap love and passion? Negative seeds? What is holding our passion, compassion and generosity back? Have you cried WOLF, WOLF so long no one believes you? I warn us: Love each other. Help others. REGRET IS A SAD WAY TO DIE? Let God use you to be a loving and kind person. Be generous. Give thanks. Even when others have been mean. PRACTICE KINDNESS, YOU WILL GET BETTER AT IT.

1 Corinthians 13:4 (a) Charity suffereth long, and is kind;
