Reflection

The readings of today (1 Kings 19:9a;11-16, Matthew 5:27-32), call each one of us to reflect on the topic: Faithfulness.

Faithfulness to God, means living the Covenantal relationship with God, being in touch with Him all the time or being aware of His presence all the time, wherever we are or whatever we do.

Faithfulness to the other, means accepting the others as they are. There is love, care, concern, support, appreciation, and encouragement. There is no ego, pride, jealousy, and comparison.

Faithfulness to the self, means listening to the inner-self in silence and living a genuine life that inner-self demands of us. What is the benefit? The benefit is no duplicity, no mask, in addition being what you are.

What are the advantages of being faithfulness to God, the other, and the self?

The advantage of being faithfulness to God, the other, and the self is being more authentic, integrated, and loving human in our life and we can enjoy peace of mind and joy in our hearts all the time.

Let us ask God’s pardon and mercy for the times when we have failed in our life to be faithful to God, the other, and the self.
