Summary: Jesus died so that we can be free from fear and live a life of peace.

I asked the Holy Spirit about what He wanted to write on Sermon central. And I heard this in my spirit, do not fear and i got excited about this topic. In this times that we are in so many are actually living in fear. Fear of today, fear of tomorrow and just having a fearful heart. And it's no surprise because there is so many things going on in our world today that is causing a lot of things to change.

But the good news is that God as not giving us all a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind- 2 Timothy 1:7. God said it and we need to believe and trust in what He as said.

Let's remember that God created us all in His own image and likeness - Genesis 1:26-27. And since we are created by God we have all of His nature in us and God's nature or attributes does not come with fear.

We have God Himself living us in according to the book of 1 Corinthians 3:16. The God that created us lives in us as we become His children and focusing on this truth will take away fear from our lives in this difficult times. God loves us so much that He had to send His Son to this realm- John 3:16 and His purpose for doing this is so that we do not live in fear but live in the freedom that Jesus died for us for.

God is faithful to His promises and He is not a God that will lie to the children that He loves.

He said in the following books in the bible:

2 Timothy 2:13

If we are faithless,

He remains faithful;

He cannot deny Himself.

Romans 3:4

Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written:

“That You may be justified in Your words,

And may overcome when You are judged.

Numbers 23:19

God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is [always] the same, yesterday, today, [yes] and forever (to the ages).

God does not change , He is God and there is no lie in Him. Also He is able to help us from having that fear that wants to come and steal from us. The work of the Satan throughout the ages is to lie to us by making us to believe that God is not able to do what He as said to us In His word. The word of God says that Satan comes to do this three things, He comes to steal, kill and destroy - John 10:10.

The purpose of Satan is to destroy the plan of God for us in our lives and this is the reason why we need the word of God in us and to believe in what God says about us. God said this to one of His servants in the book of Joshua 1:8.

God said to Joshua.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

The word of God is true and according to His word, God said this in John 8:32 that "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus said to us that to live here on earth we need someone to help us, and that He would send the Helper into our lives, to help us in our times of trials. The following scriptures declares this truth about the Holy Spirit as our Helper:

John 14: 15-18

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.

I will not leave you as orphans [comfortless, bereaved, and helpless]; I will come [back] to you.

John 14:25-26

“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

John 16:5-7

“But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

Therefore, in this time that we are in, we can rest in the fact that we have His Spirit to help us all in our time of need.

Remember this words from God our heavenly Father:

Ephesians 3:20-21

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Matthew 19:26

But Jesus looked at them and said to them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

There so many examples that God gave us in His word of having faith in Him, many came to Jesus and they were able to live free from fear.

Mark 10:46 - 52

Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus

Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called.

Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”

And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus.

So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has [b]made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.

Matthew 8: 5 - 13

Jesus Heals a Centurion’s Servant

Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralysed, dreadfully tormented.”

And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

When Jesus heard it, He marvelled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.

Acts 16:25 - 34

The Philippian Jailer Saved.

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”

Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptised. Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.

There is nothing that God cannot do for us his children, and if He can get His people healed, delivered and free them from prison, then I want us to believe that in our lives as well He can do that which we think is not possible. God is God and letting Him have His way in our lives will make that thing which Satan has brought into our lives, that situation that is appearing impossible in our lives will suddenly disappear in our lives because God as stepped in to help us.

He said this to us in.

Matthew 6: 25 - 34

Do Not Worry

Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Everyday has it's own share of trouble when we read what Jesus said to us in the last verse. This simply means that the trouble of today that seems so huge will be different from the troubles of tomorrow that seems so small.

But when we decide not to fear but to trust in God that says we are of more value than the birds that we see flying around everyday. And that He knows our today and tomorrow better than we ourselves do, then we are to believe that He is in full control of our destiny.

God said to us I have your names in the palm of my hands - Isaiah 49:16.

God said this to us my eyes are on you - Psalm 34:15.

God said this as well, that He loves us always - Jeremiah 31:3.

God said also that He knows the plan He as for us - Jeremiah 29:11.

God also said that we will live and not die - Psalm 118:17.

God is definitely true to all His promises - 2 Corinthians 1:20 and all He is asking from us is to have faith in Him and not to focus on the fear that comes to steal our joy. Fear and Faith are two different things. Fear will put a stop to all the promises of God in our lives, while faith will bring in all the promises of God into our lives. Unfortunately Satan knows this and He will make sure we live in fear all the days of our lives. But because of Jesus we can put a stop to His lies and start having faith In God.

Jesus said us in:

Mark 11: 22 - 24

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

The simply truth is to have faith in God.

How does faith come?

Accordingly to Romans 10: 17

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

By constantly studying the word of God we build up our faith. And there is a lot of promises in God's word that we can use when we are in need of faith.

God said to us that we are blessed if we choose to believe in His promises - Luke 1:45. What and who are we choosing to believe when we are in a time of need?. God who is true to His word or Satan who only knows how to lie to us in such a way that we take our focus off the promises of God.?

God said it from ages past and He is still in the process of making His word to be true in our lives. Remember that we have a God that is good - Nahum 1:7. And that He will not withhold any good thing from us His children - Psalm 84:11.

Coming to God will save us from a lot of trouble as we put our trust in Him according to the book of Psalm 91.

Psalm 91

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High

Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;

My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler

And from the perilous pestilence.

He shall cover you with His feathers,

And under His wings you shall take refuge;

His truth shall be your shield and buckler.

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,

Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,

Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

A thousand may fall at your side,

And ten thousand at your right hand;

But it shall not come near you.

Only with your eyes shall you look,

And see the reward of the wicked.

Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,

Even the Most High, your dwelling place,

No evil shall befall you,

Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

For He shall give His angels charge over you,

To keep you in all your ways.

In their hands they shall bear you up,

Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,

The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;

I will set him on high, because he has known My name.

He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble;

I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life I will satisfy him,

And show him My salvation.

We are to trust in God and His promises and this will put a stop to all the fears of the enemy in our lives. Fear has to do with torment - 1 John 4:18. When we are living in fear the word says we are not walking in love and when we love we are free from fear. God is love and love is from God - 1 John 4: 7 - 21. the key to our freedom from fear is obedience to God's word.

Remain blessed in His presence always believing that God does not want us to live in fear of today and tomorrow. Be blessed
