"A Sound That Will Change the World"

There are many voices that are speaking up and being heard.

These voices can potentially bring change to our nation.

But there is on voice that satan will fight overtime to silence, that is THE VOICE OF INTERCESSION!

Intercession has been all but removed completely from the church.

It is time for the sound that will change the world to be released.

What is the sound that will change the world?

It is the sound of Joel 2: 17-19

"Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar.

Let them say, “Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”

Then the Lord was jealous for his land and took pity on his people. The Lord replied[a] to them: “I am sending you grain, new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy you fully; never again will I make you an object of scorn to the nations."

What is the Joel 2:17 sound? "Let the ministers weep between porch and altar."

Weep – moan, wail, make lamentation, mourn, and moan aloud. To weep with tears, express discontent, sorrow, great regret, and bitterness.

Who does the weeping?

Priests – the worshippers.

Between the porch and altar. Between people and presence.

Prayer – spare your people and do not let your inheritance be an object of scorn.

Here is the intercessory prayer. "OH GOD cover your people, have mercy on us and do not let us be disgraced and removed from our refreshing brook, flood, river, and stream so that the heathen govern our nation and taunt us with no God by saying where is your God now?"

God responds because He is provoked to answer the sound of this intercession.

God’s answer

Grain – increase

New Wine- Holy Spirit outpouring.

Oil - fresh anointing pressed out.

What is the sound that will change the world?

1. The cry of the worshippers.

Worshippers standing in the gap, during 1800s Charles Finney and Daniel Nash. The zenith of Finney's evangelistic career was reached at Rochester, New York, where he preached 98 sermons between September 10, 1830, and March 6, 1831. Shopkeepers closed their businesses, posting notices urging people to attend Finney's meetings. Reportedly, the population of the town increased by two-thirds during the revival, but crime dropped by two-thirds over the same period. Father of revivalism and led tens of thousands of people to Christ. BUT Charles Finney had a Joel 2:17 intercessor.

What is the sound that will change the world?

It is the sound of Romans 8:26

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans."

Groans – to pray with grief.

There is a new and deeper place of grieving intercession that God is inviting the church.

It is the sound of the groan of the spirit.

Earth is groaning. The groan inside of me must match the groan around me.

Lose opinions and gain the groan of the Spirit.

If the church groaned as much as we shred our opinions, we would already be in revival.

Very few people have prayed with grief like John Hyde, known as praying Hyde.

Praying Hyde was a missionary to India in 1892. In 1905 - the effect was felt throughout all India, and the breath of Heaven sweeping over the land could be traced to the kneeling figure of “praying Hyde”.

John Hyde prayed for;

1908 – 1 soul a day there was 400

1909 – 2 souls a day there were 800

1910 – 4 souls a day. If they weren’t, he would pray, fast food and sleep.

1911 – his heart had shifted to the opposite side.

What is the sound that will change the world?

2. The groan of God’s sons and daughters.

What is the sound that will change the world?

3. The cry of intercession.

1 Samuel 1:10 - In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly.

Hannah – favor. Hebrew word – to pray and make supplication.

Hannah was irritated, provoked, oppressed.

Hannah’s cry of intercession produced Samuel.

We live without revival because were content

Somebody must be like Hannah and say enough is enough

You must be willing to give your Samuel to God.

Intercessors do not want glory, recognition, or fame. Jesus is our reward.

We are not looking to be discovered by man only heard by God.

John Knox

In the 1500’s John Knox was a famous Protestant reformer in Scotland. It is said that Mary Queen of Scots trembled whenever John Knox went to his knees to pray. She even once said that “she would rather face the armies of England than the prayers of John Knox"; she "hated and feared" John Knox. John Knox prayed with such power that all of Scotland was awakened. The cry of his heart was: “Lord, give me Scotland or I will die.” He prayed with such intensity that the LORD answered.

Reese Howells

December 26, 1934 Rees Howells received a vision from the Holy Spirit in the middle of the night. It was 3am, and the Lord began to call him into faith for world evangelization and the completion of the Great Commission. Prayed for the deliverance of Britain during Hitlers satanic attack.

Prayers and intercessions shaped the world around him and extended around the globe. The gospel advanced. Wars were restrained. Wicked leaders and regimes were overturned. Maps were redrawn. The impact of his hidden life of prayer is immeasurable throughout the 20th century.

Now is our time to change the world with

1. The cry of the worshipper

2. The groan of sons and daughters

3. The cry of intercession…. WILL YOU SAY YES TO THIS LIFESTYLE?

Must keep declaring revival.

Were not there yet but were pointed in the right direction.

Everything is lined up.

Revival costs you everything, there is a price that must be paid.

When revival breaks out people will not talk about revival, they talk about Jesus

Its about Jesus.

It is about souls.

The greatest crises in America is people dying and going to hell because the church is asleep.

Do we care about souls?

Wake up

Receive the Baptism of fire and intercession.
