Summary: God is not a man that will ever lie and when He speaks it must come to be in our lives.

God will forever be faithful to His word, for He is the living WORD and when He speaks it will be as He says not otherwise. God speaks all the time and His word will never lose it's power in our lives to His glory. He has been speaking from the beginning and He will continue to speak to us as long as we maintain an intimate relationship with Him.

He is our heavenly Father that loves and cares for us His children. A Father will want to communicate with His children, and He does so in different ways, God speaks to us with His voice , He speaks to us through His word and through dreams, He can also use His prophets to speak to us.

We will see examples of God speaking to His children in his word and every time He speaks situation changes and lives are been transformed.

God is a covenant keeping God

The reason of Jesus' coming was to introduce to us a new covenant and He did so by going on the cross and dying for us. His death made it possible to enter into this new covenant and He said this to us in the following books of the bible about the new covenant:

Hebrews 9:15

And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Hebrews 8:13

In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Luke 22:20

Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.

What Jesus did was for us all and He wants us to understand the meaning of COVENANT.

The biblical meaning of covenant is:

A written agreement or promise usually under seal between two or more parties, especially for the performance of some action.

And it's also

The conditional promises made to humanity by God, as revealed in Scripture. The agreement between God and the ancient Israelite's, in which God promised to protect them if they kept His law and were faithful to Him.

Therefore, God makes an agreement with us and keeps to the agreement as long as we are faithful to Him. He said in 2 Timothy 2:13 "If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself." This simply means that if we decide not to trust in Him because of what we are going through or because of what as happened in our lives that as made us to question His promises in our lives? God is saying to us that in all circumstances of our lives, He will always prove Himself in our lives by been faithful to us and by making sure that His word does not fail in our lives.

Let's have a look in the word of God about the people God made a covenant with@

God's covenant with Abraham

Genesis 17

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying: “As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

And God said to Abraham: “As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised; and you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Me and you. He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised, every male child in your generations, he who is born in your house or bought with money from any foreigner who is not your descendant. He who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money must be circumcised, and My covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. And the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.”

Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. And I will bless her and also give you a son by her; then I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of peoples shall be from her.”

Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, “Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?” And Abraham said to God, “Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!”

Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.” Then He finished talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.

So Abraham took Ishmael his son, all who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskins that very same day, as God had said to him. Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. That very same day Abraham was circumcised, and his son Ishmael; and all the men of his house, born in the house or bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.

God spoke His covenant promise to Abraham and we read that the promise came to pass in his life, this proves to us that what God says will be, it does not matter the time, the timing is God's and eventually the promise of Isaac was established in the life of Abraham and Sarah.

The bible records this powerful truth in Psalm 62:11 "God has spoken once, Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God."

God is not a man, that should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent, Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? -Numbers 23:19.

In the new testament God made a covenant promise with us in His Son Jesus Christ:

Hebrews 9

The Earthly Sanctuary

Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and the earthly sanctuary. For a tabernacle was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, the table, and the showbread, which is called the [a]sanctuary; and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All, which had the golden censer and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that had the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant; and above it were the cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Of these things we cannot now speak in detail.

Limitations of the Earthly Service

Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the tabernacle, performing the services. But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance; the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience— concerned only with foods and drinks, various [b]washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.

The Heavenly Sanctuary

But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

The Mediator’s Death Necessary

For where there is a testament, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament is in force after men are dead, since it has no power at all while the testator lives. Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood. For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you.” Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no [i]remission.

Greatness of Christ’s Sacrifice

Therefore it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another— He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Jesus is the mediator of the new covenant through Him we can now approach the throne room of grace without any kind of limitations. When Jesus died on the cross the veil that separated us from God the Father was torn in two from above - Matthew 27:51 and we are now free to go before God, knowing the truth of what Jesus did for us all.

The love of God for us compelled Him to send His only Begotten Son to us, so that as children of God whom He created in His own image and likeness - Genesis 1:26-27, we can now call Him by His name which is "Abba Father" - Romans 8:15.

God is our Abba Father and because of this, we can cry out to Him as our Father. we are no longer limited as children and we are not to live in fear of Him as our Father whom He cares for so much. Living in fear of God will not allow us to go before him as our Father. God will always correct us when we do the wrong things but He will never cast us out of His presence. He said so in His word.

Hebrews 12: 6-11

For whom the Lord loves He chastens,

And scourges every son whom He receives.

If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Hebrews 13: 5-6

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say:

“The Lord is my helper;

I will not fear.

What can man do to me?”

God is a covenant keeping God.

There are so many of God's covenant promises in his word, remember God keeps His promises in our lives.

Salvation

Acts 2:38

And Peter said to them, “Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Healing

James 5:14-15

Is anyone among you sick? He must call for the elders (spiritual leaders) of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Exodus 15:26

Saying, “If you will diligently listen and pay attention to the voice of the Lord your God, and do what is right in His sight, and listen to His commandments, and keep [foremost in your thoughts and actively obey] all His precepts and statutes, then I will not put on you any of the diseases which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.”

Protection

1 Corinthians 10:13

No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].

2 Thessalonians 3:3

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

Prosperity

Proverbs 10:22

The blessing of the Lord brings wealth,

without painful toil for it.

Philippians 4:19

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Love

1 John 3:1

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Mercy

Ephesians 2:4

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Hebrews 4:16

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

God is a covenant keeping God and as we believe in Him, all His promises will be seen in our lives. God is always there for us His children like He said He will never leave us or forsake us. Holding on to His word will help us all in this time of uncertainty and at the end of it all we will prevail over every lie of Satan like Jesus said in John 8:44.

Remain blessed in the covenant promises of God always. In His presence is fullness of joy and at His right hand there are pleasures forever more. Be blessed. Amen
