Summary: After Jesus went to present His blood to His Father, He sat down on the right hand of His Father.

So many of us in the body of Christ do not yet fully understand the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. We need a deep revelation from the Holy Spirit to help us to grasp what Jesus did for us all. Jesus came to restore the kingdom back to us and to redeem us all from the hands of Satan, who had us captive for a very long time.

The will of the Father is to see all His children walking in the full freedom of the accomplished work of His Son Jesus Christ. But unfortunately we are not all living in our full potential because of the lies of the enemy - Satan. The bible says - Satan comes only to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came to give us life in abundance - John 10:10.

Jesus came to save us all and this He did when He was crucified and rose again after been in the grave for three days - 1 Corinthians 15:4. Jesus paid the price in full so that we the children of God, can be reconciled back to the Father. For the Father loves us so much that He had to send His Son to die for us all. Jesus came as the Way, the Truth and the Life - John 14:6.

The only way back to the Father was Jesus and this is why the grave could not hold him down - Acts 2:24. He had to rise up from the dead, so that we can be back with our Father who created us as His children - Galatians 3:26; John 1:12; Romans 8:16.

Hebrews 9 describes the very purpose of Jesus' coming:

The Old and the New

Now even the first covenant had regulations for divine worship and for the earthly sanctuary. A tabernacle (sacred tent) was put up, the outer one or first section, in which were the lampstand and the table with [its loaves of] the sacred showbread; this is called the Holy Place. Behind the second veil there was another tabernacle [the inner one or second section] known as the Holy of Holies, having the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered entirely with gold. This contained a golden jar which held the manna, and the rod of Aaron that sprouted, and the [two stone] tablets of the covenant [inscribed with the Ten Commandments]; and above the ark were the [golden] cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat; but we cannot now go into detail about these things.

Now when these things have been prepared in this way, the priests continually enter the outer [or first section of the] tabernacle [that is, the Holy Place] performing [their ritual acts of] the divine worship, but into the second [inner tabernacle, the Holy of Holies], only the high priest enters [and then only] once a year, and never without [bringing a sacrifice of] blood, which he offers [as a substitutionary atonement] for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance. By this the Holy Spirit signifies that the way into the Holy Place [the true Holy of Holies and the presence of God] has not yet been disclosed as long as the first or outer tabernacle is still standing [that is, as long as the Levitical system of worship remains a recognized institution], for this [first or outer tabernacle] is a symbol [that is, an archetype or paradigm] for the present time. Accordingly both gifts and sacrifices are offered which are incapable of perfecting the conscience and renewing the [inner self of the] worshiper. For they [the gifts, sacrifices, and ceremonies] deal only with [clean and unclean] food and drink and various ritual washings, [mere] external regulations for the body imposed [to help the worshipers] until the time of reformation [that is, the time of the new order when Christ will establish the reality of what these things foreshadow—a better covenant].

But when Christ appeared as a High Priest of the good things to come [that is, true spiritual worship], He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not a part of this [material] creation. He went once for all into the Holy Place [the Holy of Holies of heaven, into the presence of God], and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, having obtained and secured eternal redemption [that is, the salvation of all who personally believe in Him as Saviour]. For if the sprinkling of [ceremonially] defiled persons with the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a [burnt] heifer is sufficient for the cleansing of the body, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal [Holy] Spirit willingly offered Himself unblemished [that is, without moral or spiritual imperfection as a sacrifice] to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works and lifeless observances to serve the ever living God?

For this reason He is the Mediator and Negotiator of a new covenant [that is, an entirely new agreement uniting God and man], so that those who have been called [by God] may receive [the fulfilment of] the promised eternal inheritance, since a death has taken place [as the payment] which redeems them from the sins committed under the obsolete first covenant. For where there is a will and testament involved, the death of the one who made it must be established, for a will and testament takes effect [only] at death, since it is never in force as long as the one who made it is alive. So even the first covenant was not put in force without [the shedding of] blood. For when every commandment in the Law had been read by Moses to all the people, he took the blood of the calves and goats [which had been sacrificed], together with water and scarlet wool and with a bunch of hyssop, and he sprinkled both the scroll itself and all the people, saying, “This is the blood of the covenant [that seals and ratifies the agreement] which God ordained and commanded [me to deliver to] you.” And in the same way he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the containers and sacred utensils of worship with the blood. In fact under the Law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [neither release from sin and its guilt, nor cancellation of the merited punishment].

Therefore it was necessary for the [earthly] copies of the heavenly things to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves required far better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but [He entered] into heaven itself, now to appear in the very presence of God on our behalf; nor did He [enter into the heavenly sanctuary to] offer Himself again and again, as the high priest enters the Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer over and over since the foundation of the world; but now once for all at the consummation of the ages He has appeared and been publicly manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And just as it is appointed and destined for all men to die once and after this [comes certain] judgment, so Christ, having been offered once and once for all to bear [as a burden] the sins of many, will appear a second time [when he returns to earth], not to deal with sin, but to bring salvation to those who are eagerly and confidently waiting for Him.

The old way was not enough for us to serve and worship the living God in spirit and in truth - John 4:24 and the earthly sanctuary was a symbol of what was to come. The priests would often go into the tabernacle to make atonement for the sins of the people with the blood of an animal and they did this yearly. This was not sufficient for us and God had to make a way for us to be back to Him and this He did through His Son.

This old way was earthly and limited to a degree and for this reason it had to be made obsolete at the coming of Jesus Christ, who is the mediator of a new covenant. The first had to be done away with, so that the new can be put into effect. And this was done by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. There was no need for Jesus to offer Himself all the time, like the priests did every year. But He only had to offer Himself once when He died and rose for us all.

After His blood was shed and before rising from the grave, He presented His blood in the Most Holy Place - Hebrews 9: 11 - 15. The shedding of the blood of Jesus was a permanent sacrifice, a substitution for our blood that should have been shed, and a permanent covenant blood between God and man.

His blood was applied not merely to an earthly altar but to the very altar of God in heaven, where once and for all it has obtained redemption from sin for those who will receive Him. The blood of goats and calves was obviously not sufficient for us to appear before God and it was only the blood of Jesus that could satisfy the claims of justice.

Therefore, after all this was done Jesus sat down signifying that the claims of justice had been met in Him - Hebrews 10: 1 - 18

Animal Sacrifices Insufficient

For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.

Christ’s Death Fulfils God’s Will

Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:

Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,

But a body You have prepared for Me.

In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin

You had no pleasure.

Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—

In the volume of the book it is written of Me—

To do Your will, O God.

Previously saying, “Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and offerings for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, [O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified

And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.

But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more. Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

What an amazing thing for us to witness what Jesus did for us all at such a time as this. After Jesus satisfied the claims of justice. He sat down at the right hand of His Father by the one sacrifice of His death and blood. Jesus became our Great High Priest because of this one act. Through this He has perfected forever those who are called and chosen by the Father.

He came to do the Father's will and therefore, brought us all into a better covenant with the Father. the old has gone and the new has come. A new covenant where we are called the children of God and we are the temple where his Spirit dwells in - 1 Corinthians 3:16.

We are now seated with Christ in the heavenly places - Ephesians 2:6

We are new creations - 2 Corinthians 5:17

We born by God - 1 John 5:4

We are the redeemed ones - Ephesians 1:7

We are spirit beings - Proverbs 20:27

Our spirit is joined to the Lord's Spirit - 1 Corinthians 6:17

In Him we live and move and have our being - Acts 17:28.

In this new covenant this is who we are and even more than this. We belong to Him and we are blessed to have God as our Father that loves us with an everlasting love - 1 John 3:1;Galatians 2:20;Jeremiah 29:11.

Remain blessed in His presence as we are a new creation to His glory. Amen
