Summary: The body of Christ is in Christ.

The body of Christ is so blessed in every way and enriched in Christ, we are called the body of Christ when we have Him in our lives as our Saviour. Remember that Jesus came to show us the way back to the Father and He came to redeem us all from the hands of our enemy who is called Satan - Revelation 12:9; 2 Corinthians 11:3; Romans 16:20.

Through Jesus Christ we have all been bought back from Satan's kingdom according to the scripture in:

Colossians 1:13

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.

Galatians 5:1

Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

Therefore, as the body of Christ we do not live any longer for ourselves but we live for Him that died for us all:

Romans 14: 8

If we live, we live for the Lord, and if we die, we die for the Lord. So then, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

2 Corinthians 5:15

And He died for all, so that all those who live would no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and was raised for their sake.

Romans 12:1

Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship.

Now that we belong to Christ who is the head of the body, we are to be submitted to Him only and not to do the things of the world, John 1:5 tells us that light and darkness cannot comprehend each other, and as the body of Christ the bible says to us that we are the children of light in the book of Matthew 5:14 and because of this we are not to have anything to do with darkness.

We are in Christ as His body and in Christ, we are to imitate Him in everything - Ephesians 5: 1 - 2, we imitate Him because we do not belong to ourselves anymore and in imitating Him we are to live as He lived here on earth and not to be conformed to the things of the world. The love we have for Christ will cause us to obey Him in every way. Loving Christ with all of our heart, soul, mind and body will help us to live in obedience to His will - Matthew 22:37.

Our life is hidden in Christ.

As the body of Christ the word of God says the following to us:

Acts 17:28

For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being], as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’

Another translation puts it this way:

It is through him that we are able to live, to do what we do, and to be who we are. As your own poets have said, ‘We all come from him.’

In Christ we have life and life in abundance to be like Him and be pleasing to Him in all our ways here on earth. Without Christ in me I find things sometimes difficult for me to do and to be who He wants me to be, but with Him in me and trusting in Him in me, I find out that I can do all things through Him who strengthens me - Philippians 4:13. Example of this is to love and forgive, which is not easy to do but in Him it's doable but without Him it's not doable. And I now know why Paul was thanking Jesus for been in his life - Romans 7:25.

Without Christ in us and helping us through His Spirit, there are things that we as His body would not be able to carry out and this is why the word says to us that we are the head and not the tail - Deuteronomy28:13, and the one in us is greater than he that is in the world - 1 John 4:4, also He said to us that in Him we are more than conquerors - Romans 8:37.

1 Corinthians 6:17 records this powerful promise:

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

This is awesome that as we are joined to the Lord we are actually one spirit with Him, to be joined simply means to put or bring together so as to form a unit, and in Him this is saying that we are one with Christ as one body, everything in Christ is what is in us, His spirit is one with my spirit and since this is the case, we cannot as His body be joined with another spirit that is not of Christ. This is why the word of God says this:

2 Corinthians 6:14 - 18

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said:

“I will dwell in them

And walk among them.

I will be their God,

And they shall be My people.”

Therefore

Come out from among them

And be separate, says the Lord.

Do not touch what is unclean,

And I will receive you.”

I will be a Father to you,

And you shall be My sons and daughters,

Says the Lord Almighty.”

Ephesians 5:11

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

The body of Christ cannot be as the body of unbelievers, in Christ we are to be separate from the works and ways of those that are not partakers of the body of Christ, and this is why there are so many divisions in the body of Christ today. God would not want us to be in a place of darkness, there are so many in the body of Christ today that are joined with unbelievers and this is why there is a lot of confusion in the body as well. I made that mistake as well and saw the result later.

Let's remember that our God says we are to be holy as He is holy - 1 Peer 1:16. For us in Christ and wanting to be like Christ we are called to separate ourselves from things that are not glorifying Christ, the reason is that we are in Christ as one body, our spirit is joined to Him in every way.

Colossians 3:3 records

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

This simply means that when we have Jesus Christ in our lives as our Saviour, we died and in Him our life is hidden in God. What a wonderful God we serve , for us to be hidden in Him is enough for us as His body. I would rather be hidden in Him than to be exposed to the ways of this world and as we are hidden in Christ we are covered by Him and whatever comes our way will be dealt with, for He promised that He would not give us more than what we can bear - 1 Corinthians 10:13; Hebrews 2:18; Psalm 37:7; Jeremiah 29:11.

Our life is hidden in Christ

Colossians 2: 9 - 10

For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Because we are hidden in Christ who is the head of the body, He says to us that in Him we are also complete, and as He is the head of all principality and power, we are complete in Him which simply means that we have all we need in Him and nothing is missing or broken in Him in our lives.

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

I love this verse in the word of God, we are the body of Christ and in Him we ere no longer living by ourselves for in Him we have been crucified and it's no longer us that is living anymore but He is the one living his life through us the body. This is saying that His desire is our desire and His counsel will always stand in our lives according to the book of Isaiah 46: 8 - 11.

Hidden in Him is very true and His plan, purpose and His will, will always stand and in our lives, this is also saying that the plans of the wicked cannot stand in our lives, because we are in Christ hidden.

Scriptures of in Christ

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

Romans 8:17

And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

2 Corinthians 5:21

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Colossians 1:27

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Remain blessed as you are hidden in Him and keep safe in Him always. Amen
