Summary: God is not confined to our three dimensions of space and single dimension of time.

The divine attributes of God give Him supreme power over all things and unlimited knowledge of all truth in every potential situation, whether before the beginning, in between, or at the ending under all possible interpretations of any component in any dimension. He knows everything that will or does happen. Human beings cannot hide from Him.

“Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” (Psalm139:7-10 NIV)

GOD IS SPIRIT

God is an eternal, perfect, and unchangeable invisible, incorporeal spirit being and is NOT matter. He has always existed and transcends time and space. He is present everywhere, but He is not IN matter. He is not the sun, moon, stars, nor an image of wood, stone, or metal; and not a beast or man. He is not the air, the wind, a universal mind, love or some impersonal quality (see John 4:24). God has revealed Himself uniquely as one God in three separate persons: God, the Father, God, the Son – Jesus Christ, and God, the Holy Spirit.

GOD IS OMNIPOTENT

God is all-powerful. Nothing is impossible or too difficult for Him because He has an infinite ability to meet every need. He promised to enter into every circumstance to work it out for the best for every Christian (see Luke 1:37; Romans 8:28).

GOD IS IMMUTABLE

He said of Himself; “I am the Lord God. I change not” (Malakai 3:6 KJV). He is unchangeable and is worthy of being trusted. He will never fail or change His love, power, or wisdom. He will always be as He always has been and will always be there for those who love Him (See Ex 3:14; Num 23:19-20; 1 Sa 15:29; Job 23:13; Ps 33:11; 119:89-91; Pro 19:21; Eke 3:14; 7:13; Isa 31:2; Heb 6:17-18; Heb 13:8; James 1:17).

God will not be shaped into any human-made image, idea, or likeness to make people feel good about Him. He is as He has always been – the Lord God of ALL creation! He is the great “I am,” not the “I was” or the “I will be.”

GOD IS OMNIPRESENT

God is intimately and infinitely present in respect to every part of creation - past, present, and future. He does not travel through time because there is no time as humans are capable of understanding it in Him.

GOD IS OMNISCIENT

God has infinite and perfect knowledge of the past, present, and future because He lives outside the time-space continuum. God has chosen to know everything. He is totally trustworthy as defined by His omnipotent, immutable, and omnipresent attributes. All of Creation reveals the infinite perfection of God's wisdom (See Psalm 139).

God can see and interact with everything that happens in our multi-dimensional universe. He can act at any time He chooses. God is invisible and cannot be seen except if He elects to reveal Himself in a three-dimensional form that human beings can see. He did that when Jesus “became flesh and made His dwelling among us” (John 1:14 NIV).

GOD IS LOVE

God knows what is best for His created. He knows every person before they are formed in their mother’s womb (Jeremiah1:5). He knows all their needs before they ask for them (Matthew 6:8). He plans to prosper them and give them hope in the future because He already knows what the future is! (Jeremiah 29:11)

Christianity is the only religion that sets forth the Creator of the Universe as Love. All of Creation resounds with the proof that God is love (1 John 4:8b). Within Him is found all the fullness of excellence, beauty, and perfection. He is the author of all that is good in creation. This truth is taught throughout the Bible, beginning with Adam in the Garden of Eden.

Everything in the Cosmos was created because of love, and every human being is connected by love. Love describes who God is and not something He has. It is the essence of His character and nature. Human beings are all connected because they were created by the love of God, who energized them with life by the Holy Spirit. Energy is not God. It is the love of God that gives energy to everything.

GOD IS BEAUTIFUL

God is magnificent and beautiful. Beauty is the possession and characteristic of Him and is one of His distinctive qualities. It is what emphasizes the form in which He reveals Himself in the external manifestation of His presence and the quality of His greatness, authority, dignity, preeminence, power, perfection, and majesty.

“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.” (1 Chronicles 29:11-13 NIV)

Beauty is the universal foundation of all things. It is transcendent by nature. The beauty and glory of God are far greater and far surpassing any earthly beauty one could ever know or imagine. Everything about Him is beautiful. His power is beautiful. His love is beautiful. His mercy is beautiful. Beauty is rooted in Him. He is the foundation of all beauty in the universe.

God's beauty is what makes Him worthy of worship. Beauty begins and ends in Him. He is the revelation of all that is good, loving, and kind. He even signs His name using the brilliant colors and hues of a rainbow and uses beauty as His messenger, declaring across the universe that He is “altogether lovely” (Genesis 9:13; Song 5:16 KJV).

Beauty in creation is to draw humanity to the Beautiful God, to create within a deep hunger to know true beauty Himself. People often settle for an imitation, the created counterfeit, not the Creator Himself. They are drawn instead to beautiful things and people. Each year tens of millions of dollars are spent on cosmetic surgery, clothes, jewelry, and make-up just to look more attractive. Adam and Eve did not need clothes, or make-up, or jewelry, as they walked naked in the Garden because they were clothed in the beauty of God. His beauty - the beauty of His presence - covered them.

The reason people are attracted to beauty - and long to be attractive and wanted by another - is because God is the ultimate Beautiful One. He is the absolute original pattern of all other beauty. He made mankind to long for Himself because He sees each person as beautiful and longs for intimacy with them. Anything less than knowing God will leave a person unsatisfied.

GOD IS LIGHT

The Bible declares that God is light by the essence of His holiness and absolute nature and that He is both love and a consuming fire (See John 1:4-5,7-9; 3:19-21; 9:5; 12:35-36,46; 1 John 1:5, Rev 21:23). All spiritual life and growth depend on His light. Light and energy emanate from the love of God. Jesus Christ, God the Son, is the light of ALL worlds!

“I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12 KJV)

Within the known universe, all things are held together by power. Jesus proclaimed that He is the Creator and sustainer of every sun in the entire Cosmos, as well as everything in existence, including the cellular structure of the human body.

Everything depends on His moment-by-moment preservation. Through Him, every human can physically “live, and move, and have (their) being” (Acts 17:27-28 NIV). Without Him, every created thing would cease to exist.

When Jesus declared He was the light of the world, He was also proclaiming that only in Him is found all perfection, life, holiness, beauty, truth, peace, knowledge, goodness, blessing, joy, and eternal life! He lives in “unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see” (1 Timothy 6:15-16 NIV). He even “wraps himself in light as with a garment” (Psalm 104:2 NIV).

Light is the place where safety and security are found and is a symbol of God’s grace. The Bible says that “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows” (James 1:17 NIV).

In the promised future New Jerusalem, the inhabitants who serve God will never need the Sun for its light because;

“the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” (Revelation 21:23 NIV)

“The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.” (Isaiah 60:19-20 NIV)

THE SHADOW OF GOD

God’s eternal life illuminates every dark and shadowed area of life. The light of God is so brilliant that there are no shadows, even when things are turning and spinning out of control!

“This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5 KJV)

When entering a dark room and turning on a light, the room will still be filled with shadows because the light cannot penetrate all of the darkness. In the spiritual plane of eternal life, there are no shadows! There is no darkness or fear of the unknown. There is only perfect light because Jesus is the light! Light is His shadow!

When a person chooses to step into the light of eternal life and live in His light, they are then transferred from the darkness of this world into the light of Heaven.

GOD DISPELLS DARKNESS

Just as God created light to dispel darkness, so He today must create spiritual light to dispel man’s moral blindness (See also 2 Corinthians 4:6 3; John 1:4-5, 9:41; Ephesians 4:17-18).

“And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light." (Genesis 1:3 NIV)

When a person’s physical eyes are blinded, they cannot see the light from the Sun.

"The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (1 Corinthians 4:4 NIV)

When people admit that they are spiritually blind, they will have taken the first step to truth. When a person comes to Jesus, they walk in the light because He is the Light.

"The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in licentiousness and lewdness, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts." (Romans 13:12-14 NIV)

CHRISTIANS ARE BEARERS OF LIGHT

One of the Greek words for “light” is the word “phos.” It is where the word fluorescence comes from. In the New Testament, it is the main word for light. Jesus commanded every Christian to “Let your light so shine (like a fluorescent bulb) before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father Who is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 NIV).

Christians are a reflection of God’s spiritual light, and they are to show the power of God in every way possible. They are to be bearers of His light and “shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life” (Philippians 2:15, 16 NIV) so that others might come to know Jesus through their living testimony as a spirit being who transcends the natural realm and lives beyond the supernatural.

THE ARMOR OF LIGHT

God has given every Born-Again Christian His “armor of light” (Romans 13:12 NIV) to put on daily to prepare for, and protect against, the onslaught of the enemy because they are the radiant image of Christ’s character.

Walking in holiness will allow God's Word of truth to rule as Lord over their thoughts "in truthful speech and in His power, with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left" (2 Corinthians 6:7 NIV). He has made His “light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:5-6 NIV). Through the Holy Spirit, Christians are to be “strong in the Lord and in his mighty power,” increasing daily in supernatural strength by resting in God and HIS power (Ephesians 6:10 NIV).

THE CHILDREN OF LIGHT

All Christians are children “of the light.” They do not “belong to the night or the darkness” (1 Thessalonians 5:5-6 NIV). They are “a light to those who are in darkness” (Romans 2:19 ESV) and must learn to place their “trust in the light” each new day (John 12:36 NIV).

“Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.” (Ephesians 5:8-12 ESV)

The Lord’s ultimate purpose is to prepare those He called out of darkness to become His possession:

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” (1 Peter 2:9 ESV)
