Summary: The purpose of the Lord's coming was to make sure that no one perishes.

The love that God as for man kind is an unconditional love and this love of God is unchangeable. God loves every race, for He created us all in His own image and likeness - Genesis 1: 26 - 27. God is who He says, He is and can never lie to us His children. God did not want any of us to be without the knowledge of knowing Him as our God and this is why we know that the love that He as for us is a love that can never be taking for granted.

God is love and love is God. We are all children that was created in His love. Because of this wonderful love of God, He does not want anyone to not know Him as God. God is a good God and a good God would not want His children to fall into the trap of the enemy, Jesus rightly said to us in John 8: 44 - 45

John 8: 44 - 45

You are of your father the devil, and it is your will to practice the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar and the father of lies and half-truths. But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me [and continue in your unbelief].

And in 2 Corinthians 3: 14

But [in fact] their minds were hardened [for they had lost the ability to understand]; for until this very day at the reading of the old covenant the same veil remains unlifted, because it is removed [only] in Christ.

Also in 2 Corinthians 4: 3 -4

But even if our gospel is [in some sense] hidden [behind a veil], it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing; 4 among them the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

The truth of the coming of Jesus Christ is been hidden by Satan who is the god of this world, and many are still been blinded by Him so that they will not be set free from His kingdom and brought to a knowledge of the truth of Jesus, who is the Saviour of the world. The word of God says this to us in the book of Colossians 1:13 that "God For He has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness, and has transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son",

God through the coming of His Son took us out of the kingdom of Satan and God Himself brought us into the kingdom of His Son - He took us out of the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. But like we said many are still in the kingdom of darkness, while God in His love has done all that He could by sending His Son to be our Saviour.

In God's unfailing love, He is still drawing us out of the realm of darkness into His kingdom, we are to accept the finished work of Jesus Christ and be partakers of the kingdom of light.

Jesus said to us in the scriptures several times that He came to seek out those that are perishing

Acts 4:12

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].”

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “[a]I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

John 6:44

No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him [giving him the desire to come to Me]; and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day.

Psalm 3:8

Salvation belongs to the Lord;

May Your blessing be upon Your people. Selah.

Mark 16:16

He who has believed [in Me] and has been baptized will be saved [from the penalty of God’s wrath and judgment]; but he who has not believed will be condemned.

Romans 1:16

I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation [from His wrath and punishment] to everyone who believes [in Christ as Savior], to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Jesus' purpose for coming was to reveal His father to us and to bring us into a relationship with Him. We are to believe in Jesus as our Saviour and Redeemer. He came to show us the way back to the Father and He said this in John 14: 1 - 6

John 14: 1 - 6

“Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places. If it were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and I will take you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. And [to the place] where I am going, you know the way.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; so how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Jesus came to be our Saviour

Let's look at the meaning of Saviour?

A person who saves someone or something from danger or difficulty.

Jesus Christ is regarded as the Saviour of humankind from sin and delivers us into His safety.

And this is exactly who Jesus Christ is and what He came to do for us all. He came to deliver us from the lies of Satan, When Jesus appeared to me and revealed who was was to me, the truth of knowing that He came to save us brought me out of Satan's kingdom of lies and this truth has set me free and keeps on setting me free.

What Satan knows to do is to come and steal, kill and destroy - John 10:10 and Jesus came to give us life in abundance . In Christ we have life and not death. Jesus is the only truth in this world right now, that can set us free from every deception and if we can only give Him our lives, we shall be saved. And when we are saved we come to the knowledge of the truth of Jesus as our Saviour.

We have been brought with a price - 1 Corinthians 6:20 and that price was the death of Jesus when He went on the cross, shedding His blood for us His children. The death of Jesus means a lot to the body of Christ and it's not to be taking for granted. The blood of Jesus was not an ordinary blood, we are talking about the blood of the Son of God, our Saviour.

The word of God says without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins - Hebrews 9:22. It's the blood of Jesus that we are forgiven and accepted into the kingdom of God.

To be in the kingdom of God we are to recognise that the blood of Jesus is real and not only that we are to believe in Him as our Saviour. Jesus did not come to condemn us but to save us all from the lies of Satan who is the one that takes away the truth of salvation from us.

Let us remember that He was sent out of heaven because of his rebellion against God and was kicked out of heaven onto earth in The book of Revelation.

Revelation 12: 7 - 12

And war broke out in heaven, Michael [the archangel] and his angels waging war with the dragon. The dragon and his angels fought, but they were not strong enough and did not prevail, and there was no longer a place found for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, the age-old serpent who is called the devil and Satan, he who continually deceives and seduces the entire inhabited world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,

Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom (dominion, reign) of our God, and the authority of His Christ have come; for the accuser of our [believing] brothers and sisters has been thrown down [at last], he who accuses them and keeps bringing charges [of sinful behavior] against them before our God day and night. And they overcame and conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, for they did not love their life and renounce their faith even when faced with death. Therefore rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them [in the presence of God]. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you in great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time [remaining]!

Up till now, Satan is still the accuser of the brethren and we have Jesus as the one that came to save us and as redeemed us from the hands of Satan. we have Jesus as not only our Saviour but also as our Redeemer.

Let's see the meaning of Redeemer?

A redeemer is a person who redeems, meaning someone who repays, recovers, saves or exchanges something for something else.

Scriptures on Redeemer

Isaiah 47:4

Our Redeemer [will do all this], the Lord of hosts is His name,

The Holy One of Israel.

Deuteronomy 7:8

But because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed (bought) you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

1 Chronicles 17:21

And what one nation on the earth is like Your people Israel, whom God went to redeem for Himself as a people, to make a name for Yourself by great and awesome and terrible things, by driving out nations from before Your people, whom You redeemed out of Egypt?

Romans 3:23- 24

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified [g]freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

1 Corinthians 7:23

You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.

Jesus said in the following scriptures that He came to seek and to save the lost - Luke 19;10; Romans 5:6; Luke 15: 4 - 7; Matthew 9: 12 - 13 ; 1 John 4: 9 - 14.

Therefore, the purpose of Jesus has already been manifested when He finally went to the cross and on the cross on that day, there was an exchange done. Jesus took our sin, our pain , our death , our sickness and poverty and gave us freedom from sin, pain , death , sickness and poverty. Of course there will be times when this things will happen in our lives, like it happens in my life, I am sometimes in pain or not having enough on me, this is the time that I remind myself of the promises of God and in prayers I by faith receive my deliverance.

The word of God reminds us to walk by faith and not by sight - 2 Corinthians 5:7

Our salvation is been done by God in Christ and we are to receive it by faith, God's love is long - suffering. He died for all - 2 Corinthians 5:14 and He wants us to come to him just as we are - Matthew 11:28. God is does not condemn us - 1 John 3:21. Also God does not want any to perish - 2 Peter 3:9.

Jesus said this to us in John 6: 29

John 6: 29

Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

This simply means that what He wants from us is to believe in Him that came to save us from our sins and to believe in Him that has come. Jesus is the truth that sets the captives free from the entanglement of Satan. Satan does not want us to believe in our Saviour, so that we would not make heaven and will always condemn us as children of God.

The way back to the kingdom is to believe in the one that the Father sent to save us and to accept Him into our lives as our Saviour. The faithfulness of God said to us in 2 Peter 3:9

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance".

This is the simple truth of who God is. What He wants is that we come to a place of repentance in Christ, and as we come we are not rejected but welcomed in Him.

He said in Hebrews 4:16

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Therefore, we are to go boldly before the throne room of grace to receive His mercy and grace in our time of not knowing what to do in the days of not believing in Jesus because of the circumstances that surround us often. God is a God of mercy and in His love, He is calling out to us and the word also says that He loved us first even before we knew Him - 1 John 4:19.

Before we knew God He loved us with an everlasting love and does not anyone to be without His love in this time that we are in, it is the love that God as for us that made Him send Jesus into the world.

John 3:16 records this truth

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

This is the truth of the gospel. We are saved through faith in the Son of God, who came to seek and save the lost, the word of God says the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes - Romans 1:16. this means the truth of the gospel can bring salvation ( Deliverance or redemption), to anyone that believes in the Son of God Jesus Christ. Remember that we are not saved by what we do or by who we are, our salvation comes from God Himself :

Acts 4:12

Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone.

2 Timothy 1:9

God saved us and chose us

to be his holy people.

We did nothing

to deserve this,

but God planned it

because he is so kind.

Even before time began

God planned for Christ Jesus

to show kindness to us.

Titus 2: 11 - 12

God has shown us how kind he is by coming to save all people. He taught us to give up our wicked ways and our worldly desires and to live decent and honest lives in this world.

Hebrews 9:28

So Christ died only once to take away the sins of many people. But when he comes again, it will not be to take away sin. He will come to save everyone who is waiting for him.

Therefore, we are saved through Jesus Christ alone and because He has saved us we are to enjoy the benefits of our salvation. At the end of it all it's all about the kingdom of God and our eternity. The word of God also says this to us in Matthew 4:16 "The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”

The children of God that has been saved are now living in the kingdom of light and are no more in darkness and all because of Jesus that came to save us from Satan's kingdom.

Remain blessed.
