Summary: God sat us beside Christ His Son when we believe in Him.

The body of Christ needs to acknowledge the fact that we as believer's are not on our own and because of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have been given a place of authority and the power to carry out exploits here on earth to the glory of His name. We are not just ordinary believer's anymore all because of Jesus who came here on earth to die for us - John3;16.

We are not just called believer's without a purpose, we have God given rights to do more exploits for the kingdom of God and not to take it for granted. God Himself as put His power in us when He created us in His own image and likeness - Genesis 1: 26 -27 and gave us His own breath at the same time.

As believer's in Christ, God raised us up by Himself and sat us with Christ in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 2: 6

And He raised us up together with Him [when we believed], and seated us with Him in the heavenly places, [because we are] in Christ Jesus,

This simply means that as soon as we believed in Christ, God did not hesitate, he lifted us up and sat us with Christ as believer's. remember that Jesus said to us that the work of God is to believe in Him whom God sent - John 6:29.

We are in this realm as the body of Christ but in the Spirit we are now seated with Christ in the heavenly places, what a privilege it is to us that God in His love for us all sat us down with His Son, and when we look in the spirit realm our focus should be where we are seated.

Therefore, as believer's in Christ we are to set our minds on things that are above at all times - Colossians 3:2. Believer's are seated in a place of honor and power, and it's all about the love that God as for us all. The Bible records that we are one spirit with Jesus - 1 Corinthians 6:17, and as we are one with Christ, all that is in Him is also in us as His children that is seated beside Him in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 1: 15 - 23

[I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son]. And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the [b]saints (God’s people), and [so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of His mighty strength which He produced in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion [whether angelic or human], and [far above] every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and world but also in the one to come. And He [d]put all things [in every realm] in subjection under Christ’s feet, and appointed Him as [supreme and authoritative] head over all things in the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills and completes all things in all [believers].

God lifted up His Son from the dead and seated Him beside Him in His right hand in the heavenly places, far above the principalities and power and might and dominion and above every name that is named, not only in this time but also in that which is to come. Every thing is now under the feet of our Saviour Jesus Christ. In the position that God as placed us, beside Christ in the heavenly places where we are seated in Christ, we are also above the principality and the powers.

This place that we are seated is a place where the enemies are subject to us, if we are actually in Christ as believer's and in this place we are also called children of light - Matthew 5: 14 - 16. Let us remember that God said to us in Colossians 1: 13 that we have been transferred from Satan's kingdom into the kingdom of His Son, it simply means that we are no longer in the realm of darkness as believer's but we are now partakers of the kingdom of God.

The Kingdom of God where we are seated is a place where we are joined to Christ in the Spirit and we are called to rest in Him as believer's.

Hebrews 4: 3 - 11

For we who believe [that is, we who personally trust and confidently rely on God] enter that rest [so we have His inner peace now because we are confident in our salvation, and assured of His power], just as He has said,

“As I swore [an oath] in My wrath,

They shall not enter My rest,”

[this He said] although His works were completed from the foundation of the world [waiting for all who would believe].

For somewhere [in Scripture] He has said this about the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; and again in this, “They shall not enter My rest.” Therefore, since the promise remains for some to enter His rest, and those who formerly had the good news preached to them failed to [grasp it and did not] enter because of [their unbelief evidenced by] disobedience, He again sets a definite day, [a new] “Today,” [providing another opportunity to enter that rest by] saying through David after so long a time, just as has been said before [in the words already quoted],

“Today if you hear His voice,

Do not harden your hearts.”

[This mention of a rest was not a reference to their entering into Canaan.] For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not speak about another day [of opportunity] after that. So there remains a [full and complete] Sabbath rest for the people of God. For the one who has once entered His rest has also rested from [the weariness and pain of] his [human] labors, just as God rested from [those labors uniquely] His own. Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest [of God, to know and experience it for ourselves], so that no one will fall by following the same example of disobedience [as those who died in the wilderness].

God wants us to enter into a place of rest because of where we are seated and this can be done only by faith in His Son. Jesus is seated with His father and we are seated beside him as the body of Christ on the right hand side of Jesus.

The body of Christ as been given a lot of honour and this is why we live by faith and not by sight. I try as much as I can to focus on the realm where I am seated with Christ, and I often say it out every day " That i am seated with Christ." This actually helps me a lot everyday.

We are not on our own anymore in Christ we have a lot of benefits as His body. The place we are is also a place of salvation, healing, strength, provision, protection and a place of signs and wonders.

Romans 6: 3 - 12

Or are you ignorant of the fact that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walk habitually in newness of life [abandoning our old ways]. For if we have become one with Him [permanently united] in the likeness of His death, we will also certainly be [one with Him and share fully] in the likeness of His resurrection. We know that our old self [our human nature without the Holy Spirit] was nailed to the cross with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. For the person who has died [with Christ] has been freed from [the power of] sin.

Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live [together] with Him, because we know [the self-evident truth] that Christ, having been raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has power over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin [ending its power and paying the sinner’s debt] once and for all; and the life that He lives, He lives to [glorify] God [in unbroken fellowship with Him]. Even so, consider yourselves to be dead to sin [and your relationship to it broken], but alive to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.

Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts and passions. Do not go on offering members of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness. But offer yourselves to God [in a decisive act] as those alive [raised] from the dead [to a new life], and your members [all of your abilities—sanctified, set apart] as instruments of righteousness [yielded] to God. For sin will no longer be a master over you, since you are not under Law [as slaves], but under [unmerited] grace [as recipients of God’s favor and mercy].

This is written for us as believer's in Christ and we are been told that in the place where we are seated we cannot live in sin since we are beside Him, by living in sin we are actually grieving the Lord Himself because He is us at all times. The Bible also says in him we live and move and have our being - Acts 17:28 and also we are not to be conformed to this world - Romans 12:2. The reason been that we are seated beside Him as God's children.

We are actually living in Him and focusing on this will help us to overcome a lot of trials in this season that live are living in at the moment. The word of God says as He is so are we - 1 John 4:17. Knowing this helps a lot, like we have said we live by faith and not by sight - 2 Corinthians 5:7.

Believing in what the Lord as said and having faith in Him will be the key to our breakthrough in this realm that we live in at the moment, there is a lot going on but we are seated in a place of power and honour. And as we stand on this truth, the powers will have to submit to the power of God in us as the children of the Most High God.

I also believe that where we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places is a place of victory in Him.

Scriptures on victory in Christ:

John 16:33

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]

1 Corinthians 15:57

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 6:10

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might.

Luke 10:19

Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.

We are living a victorious life where we are seated in beside Christ in the heavenly places and with that on our mind, with the help of the Holy Spirit - John 14: 15 -18. Let us also live in this realm in victory, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith - Hebrews 12:2.

Remain blessed
