A LETTER OF CONCERN- YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS

1 Corinthians 12:1-11

Introduction:

Brother Ray and I was talking about his great grand baby on the way. He was going to a baby shower, and he took gifts. When a child is born, we give gifts; and when a person is born again, God gives them Spiritual Gifts. These gifts are for a purpose. All Christians are one in the Body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:1-3

Christians are one in…

1. The Holy Spirit.

Paul wanted to make sure that they knew this simple truth- The saved have the Holy Spirit. When you are saved, the Holy Spirit comes into your life. You cannot truly say, “Jesus is Lord” if you do not have the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6

2. Having spiritual gifts.

There are different gifts; but are all given by the Holy Spirit. Some people may have several spiritual gifts and some may only have 1. The number of Spiritual gifts a person has is up to God. It is not the amount that matters, it is how you use your gifts. Each Spiritual gift is given for the same purpose- To edify the Body of Christ. There are different things that all come from God.

There are different kinds of…

* Gifts.

* Service.

* Working.

1 Corinthians 12:7-11

Christians are one in…

3. Purpose.

Spiritual gifts are given to be used for the common good. There are many gifts used for the purpose of edifying the Body of Christ. This passage lists some of the spiritual gifts.

* Wise counsel.

* Clear understanding.

* Simple trust.

* Healing the sick.

* Miraculous acts.

* Proclamation.

* Distinguishing between spirits.

* Speaking in tongues.

* Interpretation of tongues.

There are many Christians who believe that some of these spiritual gifts are no longer applicable. I would tell you that if one of these gifts are still being given by God, that all of them are still being given by God.

Conclusion:

If you are here this morning and you know that you are saved, but you don’t know what your spiritual gifts are; it is time for you to begin to know what they are. How do you do that? What gifts fit your personality?

If you do know which gifts you have, how are you using them? Are you maturing in your faith and in the manifestation of your gifts?
