PREFACE SUMMARY

Beloved Church, I am writing a sermon titled "Show Me The Blood" with a sense of urgency to awaken the body of Christ to the current state of the world, where sin is rampant and leaving destruction in its wake.

Unfortunately, some preachers have encountered opposition when preaching about the blood. Moreover, some Bible translations have omitted the scriptures that mention the blood, which is concerning.

In the Bible, we learn that Abel's blood was shed by his brother in jealousy. This tragic event teaches us that blood has a voice; it cries out from the ground, seeking justice. God has made it clear in His Word that the shedding of innocent blood will not go unpunished.

I recall an instance where God had me minister on this subject at a church that had previously shown no emotional response during my sermons. I explained to the congregation that the blood of Christ was the topic of my message and that other ministers had faced opposition in preaching about it.

I then spoke about the profound significance of the blood and what it has done for humanity. As I said, something remarkable happened. The church, which had never shown emotion before, began to shout, weep, and wave their handkerchiefs. The glory of God had descended upon the service, and the people were moved to worship.

Later, the pastor called me to say that the people were still at the church, praising God. This experience showed me that when the blood of Christ is preached, it can transform hearts and awaken the spirit in us.

SHOW ME THE BLOOD

Dear reader, I remember preaching on the blood of Christ some years back and referring to Moses going up on the mountain to die and Joshua coming forth as a chosen successor to lead God’s people into the Promised Land. (Numbers 27:12-33)

Church, I became a little excited when I spoke concerning the cities of refuge where God instructed Joshua to prepare, which would serve as a place where one could flee in case of a wrongful death until they could get a fair trial or would be set free at the death of the high priest because the people of that day were known to be people that would viciously act to revenge someone near to them if they had been wronged.

Beloved, the cities were to be within two hours' running distance, and the roads to these cities were to be patrolled so that they might remain open and accessible. (Joshua 20)

Church Saints, I related to a made-up scene with two men working in a field and one using an ax without notice had it fly out of his hands and strike his friend, killing him, leaving the innocent man with no choice but to run with all his might to one of the nearest refuge cites, because the relatives of his friend would not understand that it was an accident and would surely kill him in a vengeful rage.

Saints, in my little sketch, I had him almost there, but I then emphasized that he could hear the man’s friends and family close on his heels. Still, with a last-minute rush of strength, he makes it into the protected bounds of the city, leaving the men in pursuit with no choice but to stop their advance. Although he is within a distance of them lying on the grass while attempting to get his breath, they are not allowed to cross the line and take his life because he is safe until he can get a fair trial or until the death of the high priest which would set him free.

Dear Saints, this little illustration gives us a picture of what the blood of Jesus has done for us because, beloved, it is both a protecting and dividing barrier that the devil cannot cross.

Dear Saints, we could go further in this study and view why King David in (2 Samuel 3:33) would make the statement, "Died Abner as a fool dieth?"

Beloved reader, the story behind Abner would be that he was formerly a high General in King Saul's army. Still, when King Saul's house fell, Abner joined forces with David, causing the tribes to unite and accept David as not only King over Hebron, which was one of the cities of refuge but David was made and accepted to be King overall.

Beloved, because Abner had taken the life of one of David's mighty men, (Asahel), he was instructed by the King to go and remain in Hebron until he could get a fair trial or the death of the high priest as one of the stipulations made plain by Joshua when establishing boundaries for the cites of refuge.

Church, two of David's mighty men, one of them being his General Joab, caught Abner outside the city gates and killed him. Beloved, the tragedy of this story is that Abner got caught outside the protection of the city of refuge,

Saints, we could look at this spiritually as the city of refuge being the protecting power of the blood.

Beloved, the pride surging within Abner, thinking that the King had changed his mind concerning him, caused him to leave the protection of the refuge city and got him killed.

Saints, look at the scriptures as they tell how Joab hugged him as if to kiss him and, with a hidden dagger, cut his insides till they fell on the ground.

Dear Saints, Abner knew the law, and he knew the law protected him as long as he stayed within the city gates, but he allowed the enemy to catch him outside the protection of the city, causing King David to make the statement that "Abner dieth as a fool dieth."

I close this chapter with this scripture followed by a closing statement, especially for those who attempt to preach a gospel today that will allow the flesh to stay alive. (Hebrews 10:29) "Of how much sorer punishment suppose ye shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden underfoot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sacrificed, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of Grace?"

Beloved Saints, believe what ye will concerning a grace that will allow the flesh to stay alive and lose your rewards, but in the end, "IT HAD BETTER BE GOOD ENOUGH TO DIE WITH."

GOD IN THE BEGINNING

Dear reader, have you ever wondered why the founders of different religions, like Prophet Mohammed, had to align themselves with Abraham and other prophets? It's because Jesus existed as the Word in the mind of God even before creation. This is evident in the scriptures that say, "Lo, I come in the volume of the book" and "Jesus was slain before the foundations of the world."

Recently, I published a book about The Humanity of Christ. It's an in-depth study that proves that Jesus was the "other Adam." The book of John states that God created the world through Him, which makes Jesus unique. He didn't come to establish a religion but to bridge the gap between God and fallen man and to teach us how to have a relationship with the Creator of the universe.

In ancient times, many signs in Italy had the phrase, "All roads lead to Rome." However, it's essential to note that not all roads lead to heaven, and not all religions lead to God. The Holy Bible states that Jesus is the only way to God. He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can come to the Father except through Him.

The precious blood of the lamb of God paves the way to heaven. Jesus fulfilled more than enough Old Testament prophecies that would stand up in any court of law concerning his entrance into this world to pay the sin debt for man. Listen closely; your entire future depends on how you react and accept God's free pardon in sending his Son to become a sin in our place.

Jesus, who knew no sin, became a curse for us. He had to be arrested and tried as a common criminal, convicted, and executed on the cross. He willingly took our place, and all sin was placed upon him at the crucifixion. Jesus is the only name that God will recognize, and He alone is the way to eternal life.

The bottom line to this message is (2 Corinthians 5:21) which sums up by saying that he that knew no sin was made sin for us, which means that every evil act, starting with Cain slaying his brother Abel to every evil act that will be committed unto the coming of our Lord, was placed upon Jesus when he hung dying on the cross.

(2 Corinthians 5:21) "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

(John 1:7-9) ( 7) "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." (8) "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (9) " If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

WHY JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD

Saints, most religions claim to be the way to God, but beloved, Jesus did not come to find a religion or claim to have had a vision. Still, he came to bridge the gap of fellowship with the Eternal God that was lost through Adam, and his birth was prophesied and fulfilled in the Holy Scriptures.

(Isaiah 7:14) "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

(Isaiah 9:6-7) (6) "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

(7) Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

(Micah 5:22) "But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting."

Church, the facts can be found in history that prove Jesus was born on this Earth, lived his life to about 33 and 1/3 years old, and was crucified at the hands of the Romans.

Beloved, some of our bible versions today have omitted the scriptures that mention the blood from their translations of the bible, but let me tell you, in my quiet time with God, I have discovered that the blood has a voice in the courts of Heaven and the word clearly says that the land will pay for the shedding of innocent blood.

Saints of God, the facts can be found in history that Jesus was born on this Earth, lived his life to about 33 and 1/3 years, and was crucified at the hands of the Romans. Beloved, there is also a record that more than five hundred people saw him in his resurrection. (1Corinthians 15:16)

THE WAY MADE PLAIN

(Isaiah 53:5) "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed."

Dear reader, did you know that God could not make another Adam with pure, untainted blood from an earth that became under a curse through the fall of Adam? That is what the Holiness of God demanded, or man would be forever separated from his creator. Still, Jesus was born by the virgin Mary and got his genealogy through the lineage of Mary, but he got his pure blood like Adam received when he was fashioned from the Holy Ghost.

Beloved, to be separated or isolated from our creator would be like a spacecraft leaving this planet and developing a malfunction in its guidance system, which would cause it to be stranded in space, unable to make its way back home to Earth, leaving the men inside with little or no hope that they would ever get see their families again, yes beloved, they would be isolated in space until their oxygen level dropped too low to sustain their life and then they would die.

Saints, God's word says that the wages of sin is death, and that is what we got through the fall of Adam because when Adam sinned by partaking of the forbidden fruit, sin was passed upon the whole human race. We were cut off and isolated from a Holy God who hates sin and is perfect in all his ways.

Beloved, in Adam, we could never have returned to fellowship with God. Still, God, in his foreknowledge, had the plan to rescue as many as possible from the rebellion caused by Satan because, in the fullness of time, God would send a deliverer for all humanity that would be born of a virgin and have God’s blood like Adam. The blood of a fallen man did not taint him.

Church, it was the hope and prayer of young Jewish virgins to be the one chosen to bear the promised Messiah who would pay the sin debt for all humanity. Mohammed and other great men who founded religions had to align with Abraham and the prophets, but Jesus existed as the word before the line was formed.

Saints, the first book of John, states that by him (Jesus The Word) God made the worlds, and don't you know that the Word says that Jesus was slain before the foundations of the world, which means, in the mind of God the plan which was thought was formed therefore in the beginning, was the thought (word becoming flesh) became the plan becoming action.

Church, Jesus did not come to find a religion but to bridge the gap separating fallen man from God, and he came to teach us how to have a relationship with God.

Beloved, there is a sign in Italy that says, “All roads lead to Rome,” but dear, I am here to tell you that not all roads lead to heaven, and all religions do not lead to God.

Saints, the Holy bible states that Jesus is not a way to God but beloved; it declares that Jesus is the way, the name above every name, the name that God recognizes that he hath highly exalted, making him both Lord and Christ.

1. His precious blood paves the way to heaven.

2. He became a curse for us.

3. He had to be arrested and tried as a common criminal.

4. He had to be convicted and executed as a criminal.

5. He willfully took our place, and all sin was placed upon him at the cross of crucifixion.

6. Jesus is the only name that God recognizes. (Acts 4:12)

Saints, the scriptures teach that he who knew no sin was made sin for us that we might be called the righteousness of God in him. Yes, he made the way plain, and it is up to us to either accept his pardon for our sin or reject it and be found guilty before an angry God who, at death, will require his blood on our heads.

Church, let’s face it; there is no other religion that can take the guilt and stain of blood from a murderer’s hands, but Christianity is not a religion but is based on a personal relationship with God.

Saints of God, the scriptures teach that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all unrighteousness, therefore, Christianity is not a religion like all the others but a way of life maintaining a relationship with an extraordinary God who desires a family. When we accept Jesus as our savior, we are adopted into God’s family as heirs.

Dear Saints of God, the Bible takes sin very seriously, more so than perhaps any other religion, and there is no other name under heaven whereby men can be saved except through and by the name of Jesus.

Dear reader, did you know that Jesus is the only name God recognizes, and the scriptures state that there is no other name under heaven whereby men can be saved?

Beloved, we can spit at him, mock him, and even reject him, but the evidence of his birth, life, mission, and resurrection has caused millions to receive hope, meaning, purpose, and, yes, change in their life that was before angry and without hope.

Dear reader, I am talking about bootleggers, drug dealers, and criminals changing their lifestyle by accepting him as Lord and Savior over their lives, and some of these people have gone on to become great men of God who allowed the Living God to leave his signature through them to us today.

Beloved, the word states in John the first chapter that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all unrighteousness; therefore, yes dear, it can take the quilt and stain off a murderer's heart and even cause the family to forgive the murderer, but just like a bar of soap, the blood must be applied to our heart. We do that by reading and spending time in his word.

Saints, you can stand near soap and even work in a soap factory, but until you apply water with the soap, you will not get anything clean. The word of God stated in (Ephesians 5:26) is referred to as Christ making the church Holy by the power of the word and pure by washing it with the washing of water by the word.

(Ephesians 5:26-27) (26) "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word," (27) "That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

Dear reader, after reading this message, you may have a desire to whisper a prayer to the one God whom you are not sure exists and ask him to guide you to the truth, and who knows, you might be one of the ones he will choose to use to turn this messed up society around.

THE ULTIMATE TEST

Dear reader, Sin alienates us from the presence of God because Sin is rooted in the heart of man; therefore, Sin cannot be removed by any self-help program.

Beloved, no other religion but Christianity has any viable help to offer for the removal of sin and beloved; there is so much more that I could add to this message, like in (2 Samuel 6:13) where King David made a blood sacrifice every six steps bringing the ark the 5 miles back into Jerusalem but beloved, I close with a well-documented fact that happened in Chicago that caused a stir among the many world religions that had their representatives there to prove their religion was the way to God.

Beloved, in this gathering, there was a man named Dr. Joseph Cook in attendance. During one session in this meeting, Dr. Joseph Cook of Boston suddenly rose and said: ‘Gentlemen, I have sat and listened to each of you attempt to prove to us that your religion is the one that will get us to God and get his attention, but I beg to introduce to you a woman with great sorrow.

1. Bloodstains are on her hands, and nothing she has tried will remove them.

2. The blood is that of the murderer.

3. She has been driven to desperation in her distress.

Dr. Joseph Cook was speaking of Lady Macbeth, which used to be a required reading in school.

Dr. Cook took the mic and asked loudly, "Is there anything in your religion that will remove her sin and give her peace," an unexpected silence fell upon the gathering, but not a single reply was heard.

Saints, raising his eyes heavenwards, Dr. Cook cried out, "John, can you tell this woman how to get rid of her awful sin?" The great preacher waited as if listening for a reply. Suddenly, he cried, ‘Listen, John speaks; Chapter one, verse seven, "The Blood of Jesus Christ his Son, cleanseth us from all sin". (John 1:7)

Beloved, not a soul broke the silence; the representatives of Eastern religions and Western cults sat dumb as they had nothing in their teachings that would provide the needed answer.

Church, now we know why the songs in our worship services, such as "Are You Washed in The Blood" or "The Old Rugged Cross," "There Is A Fountain," and "Amazing Grace," wow, these songs sung from the heart of redeemed men and women, have such a ring of hope, as the words proclaim the gospel and the plan of God for his Creation.

Beloved, now we know and begin to understand why Mothers and Grandmothers who would stay up till midnight hoping to catch a glimpse of their boys fighting a battle on foreign soil would shout through the services of a spirit-filled church, knowing inside that the blood of Jesus covers their family.

MY CONCLUSION

Dear reader, did you know that the sinful nature passed upon the human race inherited through the fall of Adam demanded the blood of Christ, our relative's redeemer, to be shed at Calvary for the remission of sins?

Beloved, in the face of human need, the Gospel of Jesus Christ alone could meet the need. I do not care what our past is like or what we have done, even to the place of being confined in prison, the devil cannot hold our past against us to make us feel guilty because once we have accepted the blood of Christ as God’s requirement for our sin, we are set free from the law of sin and death.

Beloved reader, Romans the eighth chapter says, ‘For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set us free from the law of sin and death that we might become the righteousness (right standing with God) of God in Christ Jesus," (Romans 8:2) I might as well get happy and quote (Romans 8:1), "There is therefore no condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."

Saints, this peace with God will cause a person to be able to forgive someone who has violated them or their family, such as a rapist or even a murderer, for they now see the accurate picture, and that is that people without a changed nature who have not dealt with the sin problem will act like and serve their master which is Satan.

Church, thank God for the blood of Jesus that will protect us from evil and keep the enemy from bringing his facts against us because we have been cleansed by the blood of God’s precious lamb, for the fellowship we lost through Adam can now be restored by accepting the sacrifice of Jesus as God’s final payment for our sin.

Church, I have attempted to show you the importance of the blood of Jesus. There is so much more I could have used, like the same hyssop plant that Moses used to dip in the basin and sprinkle the sacrificed lambs' blood on the lintel and the doorpost, which is the same plant King David spoke of in (Psalms 51:7) asking God to purge him with hyssop and beloved, did you know that they used that same plant to extend vinegar mixed with gall to Jesus on the cross? (Matthew 27:34)

Beloved Saints, I want to close this message with the old song, “The Shepard gave his life for the Sheep."

Saints, until the death of Christ, little innocent lambs that were raised as a family pet gave their lives for shepherds, but thank God, His lamb, "The Lord Jesus Christ - Our great Shepard," gave his life for the sheep, and I thank God for the day his darling Son, became my dying Savior.

" Guilty, guilty was the plea; that o accuser said to me; the law of God says you as guilty as can be; But the Shepard gave his life; the wrath of God was satisfied, when the Shepard gave his life for the sheep, And I walked out of deaths prison; from my chains set free; I don’t have to pay sins awful penalty; for the Shepard gave his life; the wrath of God was satisfied when the Shepard gave his life for the sheep

Be Blessed and Be A blessing!

MY CLOSING PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, we want to express our gratitude for sending your Son, who willingly shed his blood on the old rugged cross, to pay the ultimate penalty for our sins. We are thankful that we have been granted forgiveness through his supreme sacrifice.

Father, we are humbled and grateful that by your grace, you have saved and raised us to be seated with Christ in heavenly places. We are honored to be heirs and joint heirs in your royal family, and thank you, Lord, for your love, mercy, and grace, which are new every morning.

Father, we ask for your continued guidance and blessings in our lives, and we are grateful for this wonderful fellowship. As we reflect on your word and discuss the significance of your blood in this message, we believe that emphasizing the importance and benefits of the covenant of the blood will release healing power to those who call upon your name.

Father, we also believe that people can be healed through this message if they reach out by faith and receive what has been purchased. We thank you for your Holy Spirit, who leads and guides us with his wisdom, divine revelation, and the knowledge found in the pages of your word revealed to us by your spirit of grace.

We thank you for the anointing that makes delivering and understanding your word easy. We praise you, Father, and with expectation, we recognize that this is your opportunity to bless us as your sons and daughters. We ask for these blessings in Jesus' name. Amen.
