Summary: So what makes a mother free? With a fresh anticipation mothers can begin life brand-new. Fresh. Filled with, truth. Love. Integrity.

Free Mothers Galatians 4:21-31NLT

What makes a mother free? Free like a family executing their carefully planned escape at midnight, dashing for the boarder… A man standing outside prison walls, gulping fresh air, awash in the new sun… A young woman with every trace of the ravaging drug gone from her system….They are free!

So what makes a mother free? With a fresh anticipation mothers can begin life brand-new. Fresh. Filled with, truth. Love. Integrity.

Remember, 1 Corinthians 5:17AMP Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

Free mothers walk and live in the rescuing power of God. Free mothers live free. Free mothers live fresh and new. Free mothers believe even in the wilderness. Believe in the dry times.

Free mothers choose, faith and grace over law, works, flesh and sin.

A free mother comes to realize that, “only Jesus makes her perfect!” P.H

It’s important to remember what an allegory means. It’s a story, poem, or picture that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one: "Pilgrim's Progress is an allegory of the spiritual journey"

Therefore the Apostle Paul gives us two allegories the first:

Galatians 4:21-27NLT  Tell me, you who want to live under the law, do you know what the law actually says? 22 The Scriptures say that Abraham had two sons, one from his slave wife and one from his freeborn wife. 23 The son of the slave wife was born in a human attempt to bring about the fulfillment of God’s promise. But the son of the freeborn wife was born as God’s own fulfillment of his promise. 24 These two women serve as an illustration of God’s two covenants. The first woman, Hagar, represents Mount Sinai where people received the law that enslaved them. 25 And now Jerusalem is just like Mount Sinai in Arabia, because she and her children live in slavery to the law. 26 But the other woman, Sarah, represents the heavenly Jerusalem. She is the free woman, and she is our mother. 27 As Isaiah said, “Rejoice, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into a joyful shout, you who have never been in labor!?For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband!”

We read that Abraham had two sons, first, from his slave wife, Hager. Secondly, of his free woman, Sarah.

Notice Sarah, wasn’t just a free mother, but Sarah is called, “the free woman.”

I realize this, “You’ve got to be a free woman before you can be a free mother!” P.H

Like Bishop TD Jakes prophesied over millions of women, “Woman thou aren’t lose!”

Listen, The first slave wife/slave mother, Hager, was a human attempt to bring about the fulfillment of God’s promise.

Human attempts always equal Hager. Human attempts equal the law. It’s never enough; Human attempts never fulfills God’s promises.

Here's a little secret, we are saved by faith through the blood of Jesus. Moreover, when this meta-morphias transpires, when we accept Jesus as our Savior, God forgives all our sins: past, present, and future. P.H

1 John 2:2ESV He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

ILL. Get a thin blanket, cover myself. “Its too good to be true, but Forgiveness comes as a total package; God does not forgive us partially, but wholly!”

As a woman/mother, Sarah’s seed, you aren’t just human, Mothers are new. New creations. Fresh. Anointed, Saved by the blood! And that’s a mothers confession.

In, Hebrews 10:35 — God’s strong warning that urges us never to quit and never to give up.

This verse says, “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.”

This ‘casting’ is the same thing as tossing a ball, or a rock. -It’s getting rid of it. Hear me, never discard your confidence nor your confession! -You have to believe (Know) you are new!

New Mothers walk in the supernatural, they walk by faith. This new mother comes to realize that, “the just shall live by faith.”

In Romans 4:20-22AMP But he (Abraham) did not doubt or waver in unbelief concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and empowered by faith, giving glory to God, 21 being fully convinced that God had the power to do what He had promised. 22 Therefore his faith was credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God).

“Your faith credits you righteous!” P.H

This allegorical interpretation of Abraham and his difficulties with his two wives, one of a slave wife, Hager, and the other, the free wife named, Sarah.

I want to make a few points along the way: First Point, Mothers aren’t perfect, but they know they are forgiven.

Free mothers know they are justified by faith through grace alone. -It’s never by works!

Romans 5:1-2TPT Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us. 2 Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory!

Again, free mothers know they are justified. Because Jesus was declared righteous and justified, free mothers are too!

Point 2, Women/Mothers, who receive Sarah’s anointing, Sarah’s faith, they represent the heavenly Jerusalem.

Again, Galatians 4:26ESV But the other woman, Sarah, represents the heavenly Jerusalem. She is the free woman, and she is our mother. 27  For it is written [in the Scriptures], “Rejoice, o barren woman who has not given birth; Break forth into a [joyful] shout, you who are not in labor; For the desolate woman has many more children Than she who has a husband.”

Hear this word, We find the passage where Sarah laughed in the Bible in, Genesis 18:12-15. Sarah’s laughter was of doubt and skepticism. Sarah laughs because what God tells her seems impossible.

Sarah needed to remind herself of the encounter with God.

Sarah’s present laughter, now the laughter of a free woman/mother, is something quite different.

After Isaac is born, Sarah does indeed laugh with joy, saying in, Genesis 21:5-6, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me.”

The Jerusalem that is from above, is filled with laughter, freedom, liberty, joy, and peace in the Holy Ghost!

Romans 14:17AMP for the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking [what one likes], but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Again Point 2, Sarah’s anointing represents the heavenly Jerusalem.

Point 3, All women/mothers long for an encounter with God.

In John 4, Jesus had a need to go to Samaria, There, Jesus encountered a slave, a woman by all probability had children. A slave mother/A slave Hager.

A woman who identifies solely as a slave. Mount Sini was as far as she could go.

However the law couldn’t free her. She made identity with many men, she lived with a slaves mentality. Her legalists mind-set could take her no farther than sorrow, and with time, even the law had made her numb to sorrow.

By all probability this woman was sorry for her wrongs. This was her lot in life, she was a slave, slave-woman/slave-mother; A Hager mentality.

This woman had taken life in her own hands and made a mess of it.

How about you, have you made a mess of it?

I’ve made a mess, I’m guilty. -But Jesus.

And by Jesus’ own confession, this woman in John 4, had 5 husbands, and presently she’s living with a man.

This slave woman with a Hager mentality needed an encounter.

Therefore an encounter she shall have: John 4:22-26NLT You Samaritans know very little about the one you worship, while we Jews know all about him, for salvation comes through the Jews. 23 But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. 24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.” 25 The woman said,“I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”26 Then Jesus told her, “I am the Messiah!”

Again Point 3, women/mothers long for an encounter with God.

Point 4, You are children of the promise.

Identify yourself as children of the free woman/free mother.

That brings us to the second allegory found in: Galatians 4:28-31NLT And you, dear brothers and sisters, are children of the promise, just like Isaac. 29 But you are now being persecuted by those who want you to keep the law, just as Ishmael, the child born by human effort, persecuted Isaac, the child born by the power of the Spirit. 30 But what do the Scriptures say about that? “Get rid of the slave and her son, for the son of the slave woman will not share the inheritance with the free woman’s son.” 31 So, dear brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman; we are children of the free woman.

Again Point 4, You are children of the promise.

Paul commands, “Get rid of the slave woman/Hager mentality, and receive, Receive the fullness of freedom found only in Jesus.

-Live as a free mother; Expel all slave mentality!” P.H

Jesus states in, John 8:32AMP And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin].”

Fact, If received, This truth of Grace verses the Law, has full ability to set free, It has full authority to produce free mothers!

Free mothers break away from bad choices, while all along growing in the grace of God.

Children of Sarah, Children of God, Free mothers, learn:

1. The steps. Faith, Hope and Love.

2. They learn to live inside the fullness of freedom.

One time a little boy was called up front to solve a math problem. The teacher asked him, “You have a pie with 6 pieces. There are 5 in your family: your brother, your sister, your mother and father and you. Each one gets one piece of the pie. Now you only have one piece left. We don’t want to cause any disagreements so it is decided to divide that last piece of pie evenly among your family. Tell me with a fraction how it will be divided up.” The little boy said, “1/4th.” The teacher said, “No, it would be 1/5th because there are 5 in your family and it will be divided evenly.”

The little boy said, “No, teacher, it will be 1/4th. This happens all of the time in my family and my mother divides up the piece of pie but she never gives any to herself.”

Mothers who possess this freedom mentality are easily satisfied. This free woman/mother lived out of grace.

Benediction. Every mother, every woman please stand to your feet. “I proclaim freedom over every woman, and every mother, in Jesus’ name.”
