Summary: Fulfilled predictions are one of the many undeniable proofs that Jesus is who He says He is, and He did what was predicted.

Note: All Scripture references in this lesson are from

The Bible by Jesus unless otherwise noted

A. ETERNITY PAST

1. I am the only begotten Son of My heavenly Father. “I am the Father of the universe, the Anointed is My Son, He is My only begotten Son” (Psalm 2:7).

a. Only. God has no other Son” (John 3:16).

b. Begotten. I am eternally generated, “This day” (Psalm 2:7, KJV).

c. Fellowship. The Father and I are One (John 10:30).

2. I am the Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1, KJV). “I tell all about God, My Heavenly Father. I was face to face with God throughout eternity past” (John 1:1).

B. PREDICTIONS OF MY MINISTRY

1. Because of sin I said. “There will be hatred between you and the woman, between her seed and your seed, Her seed (Jesus) will give you a crushing head blow even as you bite his heel” (Genesis 3:15).

2. I will come through Abraham, father of the Jews. “In you (Abraham), all the families of the earth will be blessed” (Genesis 12:3). “To get My Father’s blessing . . . come like Abraham by faith” (Romans 4:23-24).

3. I will come from the tribe of Judah. “The scepter will not depart from Judah . . . the lawgiver will come from him” (Genesis 49:10).

4. I will be born in Bethlehem. “Bethlehem . . . one of the smallest towns, in Judah. But out of you will come the One who will rule Israel” (Micah 5:2).

5. I will be born of a virgin. “A virgin will become pregnant and as a virgin, she will give birth to a Son . . . name Him Immanuel, which means God with us” (Isaiah 7:14).

6. I will preach, heal, and give salvation. “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. The Lord has sent Me to preach that prisoners shall be free, and the blind shall see, and the oppressed shall be released, and to proclaim that God will bless those who come to Me” (Isaiah 61:1-3; Luke 4:18-19).

7. I was betrayed. “Pay me my wages . . . so they gave me 30 pieces of silver . . . I the Lord told him to toss the coins to the potter in the temple” (Zech. 11:12-13).

8. I would ride triumphantly. “Rejoice, everyone in Jerusalem . . . why? Because your king is coming, He is righteous and victorious and humble, riding on a donkey’s foal” (Zech. 9:9).

C. PREDICTION OF MY SACRIFICIAL DEATH

1. Predicted a lamb from the beginning. “See that Man, He is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).

2. Gambled over My clothes. “They divided My garments and cast lots for them” (Psalm 22:18).

3. I suffered physical torment. “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquity” (Isaiah 53:3). It pleased (wrath satisfied), the Lord to bruise Him” (Isaiah 53:10).

4. I didn’t retaliate. “He was oppressed . . . yet he opened not his mouth, he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter” (Isaiah 53:7).

5. I was buried in a rich man’s tomb. “His grave with the wicked, and with the rich” (Isaiah 53:9). “Joseph of Arimathaea . . . Nicodemus . . . wrapped My body in swathes of cloth and anointed it with a hundred pounds of spices . . . no one yet buried there” (John 19:38-41).

D. MY RESURRECTION

1. Fulfilled predictions are one of the many undeniable proofs that Jesus is who He says He is, and He did what was predicted.

2. The skeptics/deniers say both Jesus and the church acted out the Old Testament predictions.

a. No . . . because it was right, they believed it.

b. No . . . no one would suffer and die for a lie.

3. The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls is credible proof the predictions were made 250 years before Jesus was born.

4. I know Jesus is real because of Galatians 2:20, “Christ lives in me.”

5. Billy Graham told Johnny Carson, “I believe in Jesus Christ because I talked to Him this morning.”

If you have never really accepted Jesus as your personal Savior, would you do it right now? Do not delay or put it off. If you would like to receive Christ by faith, pray this simple prayer in your heart:

Dear Lord, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died for my sins on the cross, and rose again the third day. I repent of my sins. By faith I receive the Lord Jesus as my Savior. You promised to save me, and I believe You, because You are God and cannot lie. I believe right now that the Lord Jesus is my personal Savior, and that all my sins are forgiven through His precious blood. I thank You, dear Lord, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you prayed that prayer, God heard you and saved you. I personally want to welcome you to the family of God and rejoice with you.
