2024 - Prayer and Fasting to open up the New Year
It's my year of FREEDOM, from all manners of oppression and shame
Day 1: Tue Jan 2, 2024
We are starting the new year with appreciation of His past, current and futures deeds in our life. It's an opportunity to speak from our soul and bless the Lord.
Prayer Focus: Thanksgiving
Psalm 107:8-9 (NIV):
8 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind,
9 for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.
Psalm 107:19-21 (NIV):
19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
20 He sent out his word and healed them;
he rescued them from the grave.
21 Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
Prayer Points:
1. Pray from your heart, thank the Lord for His unfailing love in your life, family, ministry, career, business, and all undertakings. Think of the goodness of the Lord and express your heartfelt thanksgiving unto him.
2. If you or any of your loved ones have experienced healing, give thanks unto the Lord.
3. Reflect on the hopeless situation you had experienced in the past, even if it's still present, give thanks for victory, success, freedom, Testimonies, etc, etc.
4. Overall, think of His goodness and the fact that your spirit still bears witness that you are His child and Worship him.
5. Sing to God old songs you know, sing unto him a new song composed by you in this prayer session.
6. Use the whole day to appreciate God for bringing you into this new year, 2024, for His purpose. Any moment you have today, while you drive, in the washroom, while you work, while you rest, etc you do not have to verbalize your prayer. Make sure your heart is in sync with the Lord.
7. Identify your lows and highs in the passing year and thank God for the experience, knowing fully well that “All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Day 2: Wed Jan 3, 2024
Prayer Focus: Walk with me in the year Lord
Leviticus 26:12 (NIV):
"I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people."
Isaiah 43:2 (NIV):
"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
It's needful for us to enjoy presence of God in our lives in 2024. It provides assurance that all will be well and we would be guided within His wills for our lives
Prayer Points:
1. Let me be able to enjoy your presence in my daily life this year and be among your people
2. Guild me through the difficult part of the year (Isiah 43:2). Never leave me nor forsake me in the burning fire, flood and other dangerous situation of 2024.
3. Shower unto me the grace to walk perfectly with you like Enoch (Genesis 5:24 (NIV):
Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.
4. Fill me with grace and power to do good this year, all to your glory.

Day 3: Thurs Jan 4, 2024
Prayer Focus: Fulfilling Purpose in the year 2024
1 Samuel 17:45-50
45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied .
46 This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
47 And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands.
48 And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose , and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted , and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.
49 And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth.
50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David.
David by divine purpose happened to be where the people of God were being humiliated in the battle front. He was sent an errand to check on his brothers and presented to them, foods, however, it was divine an arrangement for David to be there at a time when an uncircumcised philistine was humiliating the people of God and no one, including king Saul there challenged the giant warrior who was 9ft tall with a huge frame and all manners of weapons around him.
David inspired by the spirit of the Lord to challenge goliath in the name of the Lord and gave his people victory, freeing them from defeat, slavery and humiliation.
Prayer Points:
1. Divinely place me this year oh Lord, where your purpose shall be accomplished in my life.
2. Bless me with Insights to know what to do per time in my career, business, ministry, academics, and all undertaken.
3. Bless me with boldness and prophetic words to speak against all "mountains" like David who spoke prophetically to cut the head of Goliath without a sword in his hands, and that eventually happened. And also " This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel".
4. Pray for divine freedom from all manners of oppression and humiliation
Day 4: Fri Jan 5, 2024
Prayer Focus: Prayer for the Leaders in our nation, Ministers of the Gospel, and countries of of the World
1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV): I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Prayer Points:
1. Prayer for all Leaders in Canada for guidance and wisdom to make the right decisions that would fulfill God purpose in our country.
2. Prayer for all the Ministers of the Gospel, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers, Apostles, all church leaders, Missionaries, etc, etc for protections, wisdom, insights, power, direction to help in their callings and bring perfection to the work of Grace in their hands
3. Special prayers for Pastor in the United States, that the Lord will help them to stand in the face of Suicide, backslidden, depression, mental illness, etc.
4. Prayer for Church in Nigeria and Government that God will intervene in every situation that question the authority of the word of God.
5. Prayer for Northern Manitoba that the gospel of God will reach the unreached , that the people will commit themselves to Christ, and all oppression of the enemies will give way.
6. Pray for revival in the nation of Canada and the Church of God in general.
7. Pray for personal revival in relationship with the Lord.
Day 5: Sat Jan 6, 2024
Prayer Focus: Healing
Jeremiah 30:17 (NIV): But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord because you are called an outcast, Zion for whom no one cares.
James 5:14-15 (NIV): Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.
Prayer Points:
1. Prayer for the sick people you know for a full recovery.
2. Pray for good health on every family members of yours this year.
3.Pray that the signs to lay hands on the sick in prayer and recover will be upon you and very believer that desire it. "And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover" Mark 16:17-18 KJV
4. Pray for all people in the medical professions that God will fill them with wisdom for breakthrough on their jobs and divine protection.
5. pray for good health and extra strength to fulfil god's purpose. Health is Wealth.
6. Prayer for freedom from all manners of oppression and humiliation of the enemy
Psalm 107:13-14 (NIV): Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains.
Isaiah 54:17 (NIV):No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me," declares the Lord.
Pray for a total deliverance in any areas of your life that the enemy seems to have a foothold. Pray a prayer of Authority.
Day 6: Sun Jan 7, 2024
Prayer Focus: Finances and Economy
Philippians 4:19 (NIV):And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Proverbs 3:9-10 (NIV):Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
Prayer Points
1. Economy situation of several countries of the world are currently in a technical recession or something close to that, as a result of the effects of Covid-19 Pandemic which ravaged the world more than 2 years. Pray that God will intervene and revive economies around the world. Pray specifically for Canada and Nigeria.
2. Pray for the provision of God in our households at a time like this. God that made provisions for Elijah in famine should provide for our needs.
3. Pray for promotion this year in all areas that can help our finances e.g. job, business, etc
4. Pray for intervention of God in all that you do.
5. Pray for sufficient grace to be upon your life so that you could also bless other people and honouring the works of God laid upon your heart for support.
6. Pray that the Lord bring you insights, wisdom and their application to get wealth. Pray for total victory over poverty.
7. Identify any area in your life and pray
Day 7: Mon Jan 8, 2024
Prayer Focus: Children and Young Adults
Matthew 19:14 (NIV):Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.
Psalm 127:3 (NIV):Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.
Psalm 119:9 (NIV):How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to
your word.
1. Pray for the young adults for grace to keep their way pure and not to be influenced negatively by peer pressure.
2. Pray for both children and young adults for protection
3. Pray for both children and young adults that they would understand the word of God and be proud of their faith
4. Pray that they would make the right choices all the time and would grow to fulfil the purpose of God for their lives. Pray that they would bring joy to their the parents through the choices they make.
5. Identify Youths and Children that comes to your mind in this prayer session, mention their names in prayer and pray for them.
