Letting go of the Unknown
As we go through life, we learned to deal with different things involved with Adulting! Some are known and some are unknown. The ones that we know about we think that we can deal with usually and when we can’t we call on the Lord and expect him to come running to our rescue!
Which, if we are to be truthful! Countless thousands of times, the Lord has come to our rescue in our lifetimes! But, it seems as there’s always a butt doesn’t?
But when we don’t know what the Unknown, of a situation is going to lead too, we have a hard time processing, because we want to know!
We think it’s hard enough to let go of what we do know, let alone what we don’t know! And in doing so, what that does is. Make a statement of our faith to God, that we are willing to rest in the fact that he knows, and In, his ability, alone, and not our own!
For those of you who think that resting sounds like an easy thing to do, as it is something we all like to do. When it comes to our spiritual concerns, and our relationship with the Lord, it’s not as easy as One might think!
That’s why people become anxious. That’s why people get nervous and get anxiety about situations and there outcomes.
Matthew 11:28-30
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
We’ve all heard the old expression. “give it a rest“ in essence that’s what the Lord is telling us to do! The Lord says make it easy on yourself and let me (thats the key right there, when he says, let me) Have faith in me, trust me and not your own understanding!
And if we need to be truthful and honest with our self, how much in life do we really understand? Oh yes, we think we have a lot of understanding of how things work, but how much do we understand?
Can you see the wind, no, but you think you understand, yet you have no idea where it comes from and still trust completely in it!
How about electricity? You understand, it’s ability to shock you and to light your path, or heat and cool your home.but if you were put on the spot to create it, could you?
There comes a time in every Christians relationship that they claim to have with Jesus and the Almighty God. That they have to lay all their concerns down and their worries and leave them at the feed of Jesus, and walk away!
By faith come to realize how much the Lord really really wants to do for and will do for them! Over and over and over time in and time out again!
Psalms 143:8-10 NIV
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,? for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go,? for to you I entrust my life.
9 Rescue me from my enemies, Lord,? for I hide myself in you.
10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God;?may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
To trust or not to trust, that is the question. And the decision that is made between those two choices, is what either gives you sweet peace of mind, or makes you worry, from worry to worry your whole life through!
Zephaniah 3:17 NIV
The Lord your God is with you,? the Mighty Warrior who saves.?He will take great delight in you;? in his love he will no longer rebuke you,? but will rejoice over you with singing.
I absolutely love how it says, and what it says not only in that scripture, but in multiple scriptures in the Bible. How the Lord, is always with you and celebrates and sings because of you when you trust in His ability to deliver His promises and keep His word to you!
TBS.(the Bible says) in Mark 6:34 NKJ
34. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
I hear you, I hear what your saying, but what about the ?what ifs??
You know, what if this, that and might happen tomorrow?
What about the what ifs?
TBS. (the bible says) let the what ifs, worry about the what ifs!
That sounds like a fabulous idea, doesn?t it? Let what ifs worry about the what ifs! And that?s exactly what every believer should do.
Let me ask you a question? Have you ever talked with someone and gave them your advice which was good and sound advice, and they completely ignored your advice and said they were to go ahead and do their own thing and told them Shrugly, W e l l…. I guess you’re on your own!
Aren’t you glad that God‘s not like that!
We all know, Gods Grace is greater than any problem we will ever face, right? Then How’s come, so many people have a problem, putting in their trust and faith and what they claim to know?
It’s certainly biblical, we just read it didn?t we? Amen?
Then tell me why do so many people, let so much stuff get to them all the time?
Because when we worry, we make it about the capabilities of self, ourself!
We try to make it all about right living and right doing, all of the things we think we can somehow control, instead of right believing! Let me ask you a question and be honest can anyone really live, right?
We say we all want more free living! Well, we find the answer to worry free living, in the verses right before our text scripture!
Mark 6:31-33 NKJ
31. ?Therefore do not worry, saying, ?What shall we eat?? or ?What shall we drink?? or ?What shall we wear??
32. For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
The answer to stress free, worry free living, is to seek God, seek out His righteousness and trust Him to see you through!
One word from God is all you need! One obediently applied word from God, will change any situation! If you will let God, if you will give Him a chance, He will show you His capabilities in a big way!
We, if we will admit it, know our limitations don?t we?
And no amount of effort, or worry on our part will ever increase them!
We, also on the other hand, know that God?s abilities are limitless
Some people like to defend their actions by saying, well God can do whatever He wants! He certainly can because our God is a sovereign God! But when it comes to God working in our lives, we can either turn on His ability, or we can shut it off, like a water faucet!
Worry ties God?s hands in our lives, Faith sets Him free to do as He pleases, And bible history tells us, that God likes to do amazing things in our lives, when we untie His hands with our faith?
Ephesians 3:20 NKJ
20. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
Matthew Henry said: God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. There is an inexhaustible fullness of grace and mercy in God, which the prayers of all the saints can never draw dry. Whatever we may ask, or think to ask, still God is still able to do more, abundantly more, exceedingly abundantly more. Open thy mouth ever so wide, still he hath wherewithal to fill it. Praise God!!
If everyone knows, how much is available from God and all He longs to do in our lives, how's come everyone's not seeking out what God has prepared and are experiencing what's been made available to them?
Everyone cares about the poverty level of mankind in the world, no one wants anyone to suffer lack! But it? seems to be a completely different story we’re willing to accept, when it comes to our spiritual poverty level!
When we worry and trust only in our self effort and don?t trust in Gods endless capabilities, Even though by the world’s standards we may achieve some form of success, we are spiritually all sitting in the poorhouse and starving ourselves to death!
Sad to say, but there are a lot of spiritually mal nourished Christians in this world! And the devil delights in the fact there is, and pounces accordingly, far far too often at will! Don’t believe? Look around, have you ever seen a more chaotic time in your life, on the worlds stages?
Anytime you rely on anything other than God, it becomes your source!
Be it self, job, spouse, parents, doctors or your own knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 3:5-10 MSG.
5-10. Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
don?t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God?s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he?s the one who will keep you on track.
Don?t assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
Honor God with everything you own;
give him the first and the best.
Your barns will burst,
your wine vats will brim over.
NKJ. Says; lean not on your own understanding
Sometimes we like to lean on everything but what we know we should. There is such a sweet peace, that only God can give, when one finally just places it all in His hands. And it?s a wonderful place to live!
Have any of us arrived completely? I know I haven’t, but I do know and have discovered this! Gods word and Gods promises are true! And the more you place in His hands, the more He pours into your life and the more He takes you to new levels in your relationship with Him.
You know, when you first become born again, its like a babies progression, first you just lay there, it seems like nothing is happening, but you are growing
little by little, the more you trust and depend on Him.
Then you learn to role your self over, with His help and it?s a big deal, The next thing you know your sitting up experiencing new blessings,
like grace and favor, and there?s another growing period.
Then more trusting and more waiting on Him and more blessings follow.
And before you know it, you?ve learned to crawl around. And all the while you continue to depend on Him as your source, growing and getting
stronger every day,
Then one day your learning to walk, and you start to take a few steps, but stumble, funny thing is you don?t worry about it, because you know,
matter what happens, you can trust Him and He will never let you down.
Before to long, walking is no big deal, its effortless and you realize, that there is nothing God won?t do for you, or keep from you, everything, and I mean everything is possible with Him first place in your life!
And the most beautiful thing you come to learn come, is when God says, if will trust me, there is still more for you, so much more, you?ve only
just begun!
And you begin to run, and you run, and you run, and you run
and you try to, but you can?t imagine all the possibilities that
God has opened your world up to, and you can’t even begin to fathom
What you’ve been given!
And God says, Child of God I Love you, you have only scratched the surface of what lies ahead for you, you ain?t seen nothing yet!!
The apostle said; ?I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me?
Praise God!
If you can believe, I tell you this from my own personal experiences. I tell you this because it’s the truth! God will take you places you?ve never dreamed of,
He is ready, willing and able to deliver, your best life now!
If you’re not living the kind of life that I’ve been describing today, then why not start the pursuit of living that life? The life that God has promised you and created for you!
I encourage you, take that step of faith, and get out of the boat and trust what God has prepared for you, and know that it is good, and it is tangible and something far beyond you could’ve ever imagined!
Get to know Him on a whole new level, take your relationship with Him, to the next step,
Realize that you can be and are a friend of God and friends take pleasure in each other?s company.
They laugh together, cry together, talk to each other, and spend time with one another.
If friends spend enough time in each other?s presence, they usually learn to trust and confide in one another.
Proverbs 18:24 MSG
24. Friends come and friends go,
but a true friend sticks by you like family.
Ill. It?s like the story I heard of two older ladies who were playing cards? One lady said, ?I hate to ask you this ? I know we?ve been playing cards together for years ? but you know, I?m getting old & my mind is growing feeble ? but, What is your name??
The other lady looked at her real surprised and said, ?Let me think about it ? how soon do you need to know??
God not only knows your name, He knows everything about you
and still calls you friend. Still wants to be involved in every detail
of your life, if you will let Him.
Still wants to and will always be your everything you will ever need.
I pray like I discovered many years ago, you will realize as long as God is in charge of your life, you too can have His peace in your life.
And no matter what happens, you?ll be able to say, as long as I have God in my life,
I?ve got a feeling everything?s gonna be alright? Praise God!
