Your Way Has Been Paid

Romans 3:21-26

I. Each of us owes a debt of sin

A. All of us owe this debt v. 23, 1 John 1:8

B. The price is high Rom. 6:23

II. What is sin?

A. Sin is the result of our fallen nature - Began with Adam and Eve

B. What are some things God considers sin? - Galatians 5:19-22

1. immorality

2. impure thoughts

3. wrongful deeds

4. idolatry

5. hate

6. jealousy

7. anger

8. selfishness

9. drunkeness

C. So how many of these have you violated in your lifetime

III. What’s the solution

A. God is love - John 3:16

B. Jesus was your personal sacrifice - Romans 6:6

C. He paid a price, He didn’t owe - Ephesians 2:4

D. This payment is a gift, it is neither earned or deserved - Ephesians 2:5, 8 -9

IV. So how does this apply to you

A. God’s grace through Jesus Christ is the only way - John 14:6

B. Believing in Him is not enough - Even the demons believe James 2:19

C. Christ paid the way, but He doesn’t force himself upon you - Rev. 3:20

D. So how does it work

1. Admit that you are a sinner - 1 John 1:9, Psalm 32:5

2. Believe that Christ died for you and rose again - Romans 10:9

3. Ask Jesus to be Lord of your life - Acts 3:19-20, Rom. 10:13
