Summary: Series outline on rediscovering the simplicity of sharing Jesus. A simple exposition of John 1:29- looking at Andrew’s experience w/ Jesus

This is an outline for a 3 week series called: "Learning to Breathe - rediscovering the simplicity of sharing Jesus." Who taught you how to breathe?

Andrew has become famous for his invitations. Before every Billy Graham crusade they do something called "Operation Andrew." The basic idea behind Operation Andrew is that people who know Jesus go out and grab their loved ones who dont and get them to the crusade. Becoming an Andrew is really simple - it involves three steps.

Week 1> The Exciting Promise - John 1:29-40

Andrew became excited about Jesus through a couple of different experiences:

1. The Pointer (he spent time with John the Baptist)

2. The Personal Encounter (he spent time with Jesus)

Week 2> The Inviting Personality - John 1:41-42a

Andrew went and got his brother Peter. His invitation was not passive but:

1. Active

2. Agressive

Invite someone a total of 30 times and they will say yes.

A recent Barna poll says that the majority of teenagers would go to church if a friend invited them.

Week 3> The Delighting Payoff - John 1:42b

How cool must it have been for Andrew to see Jesus and Peter hook up? How much delight must Andy have felt when his big brother preached at Pentecost and saw 3000 people saved!
