The object of this mini childrens address is to demonstrate that just because we can’t see God doesn’t mean that He doesn’t exist. In fact by looking at what he has created we see the evidence of God’s presence.

Props:-
I use a remote controlled toy car, though any other interesting battery powered toy could also work.
Also required are two sets of batteries: one that works and another dead set. To ensure that the dead set hasn’t got even a trickle of life I have covered the contacts with clear vinyl tape.

Has anyone seen a car with a fish sign on the back?
Does anyone have a fish sign on the back of their car?

What does this sign mean?
It means that I’m a Christian, that I follow Jesus and what’s more think being a Christian is SO good that I want to tell everyone. Even down to putting a sticker in my car.
Now some people don’t believe in Jesus OR God. Now they are wrong but I sometimes meet people who say that there isn’t a God because they can’t see him.
They say If I see him I’ll believe - but I if you can’t see God then God doesn’t exist. That’s what they say. ONLY Seeing is believing.
Well I actually have two cars and I have brought the other one to show you.
This car runs on batteries.
Well not actually the batteries – it runs on the power in the battery.
Two batteries here – one of them has no power in and the other has lots of power.
Can someone tell me which one has the power?

Well if it were up to my doubting friends there would be no such thing as power – because if you can’t see it - it doesn’t exist.
Shall we try them out.
Put in the dead batteries and see nothing – then change for the live ones and get one of the youngsters to come and demonstrate it to everyone else.
There you have it – Although you can’t see the power in this battery you can see what it does – and that’s just like God’s power.
You can’t see the power – but you can see what it does. It makes the flowers grow and the trees and the birds, animals, the weather, the everything.
You can’t see God’s power but you can see it when it’s working.
