Summary: Ministry is...Finding, Focusing, Financing, and Fulfilling. Ways we can see ourselves as ministers, and better equip ourselves to perform ministry. A general guideline of a short sermon to a small group such as visitation committee...etc.

Good morning,

I. Thank you

II. Illustration-Have everyone stand, and turn to right. Then extend arms and rub each others shoulders. Then reverse to the left.

III. Are you aware of what just took place?

IV. Illustration explained- “ You over on this end, what happened the first time we were turned to this way?”

V. Everybody can’t always give and receive can they?

VI. Shouldn’t this be our goal? Our perfect goal as ministers is to be in a circle, so that everybody gives, and everybody receives. II Corinthians 1:3-4 tells us, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”

VII. So what is ministry?

VIII. Ministry is finding!

a. We have to develop the mindset to look for ways to minister to people in need.

b. How do we do this? --ask!

IX. Ministry is focusing!

a. We focus on whether or not the need will represent this church in the way we want to be represented.

b. In ministry you can do something or you can do nothing. But who we are as a church and as Christians will be reflected in the choices we make.

X. Ministry is financing.

a. When my life is over do you think that men will judge me by the intent of my heart?

XI. Ministry is fulfilling.

XII. Like Nike says, “Just do it”

XIII. So today my question for you is simply this. Are you doing it? Are you doing some type of ministry? Are you calling an old friend to see how they feel? Are you visiting the sick? Ministry will not be hard for you, if you will find where you are gifted and then, and find what you love to do, pray to God for direction and Just do it!

XIV. Let’s Pray
