KEEP DOING WHAT YOU BEEN DOING
Job 13:15
(15) Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
On Tuesday, April 30th, 2002, I laid a dear friend in the grave. Gone all too soon in this life to the next to meet God. Shortly after he took off on a 4-wheeler he was found dead, in a ditch, with his neck broken.
During times of heartache & or trials, it seems the hardest thing to do is to continue that which you have been doing. ON THE JOB You are doing better than the other yet prejudice chooses someone else to get the raise. IN THE FAIMLY Your cousin is voted most popular in school yet your religion has made you the odd-ball.
You know what to do when faced with burdens? Just "KEEP DOING WHAT YOU BEEN DOING!" (On The Job) God is watching and scoring you if the boss is not!
(In The Family) Be the odd-ball and stand for right if you are looked at as wrong!
This past Sunday was one of the hardest Sundays I recall ever having had to preach.
I was handed some bad news. I was told I lost a dear friend to an accident. My friend left a wife and three children. So what did I do? I did what he would have wanted me to do. After being handed the news right before service, I sung in the choir anyway! Sunday morning, I faced the congregation anyway! Sunday morning, I read our scripture anyway! Sunday evening, I preached anyway! You don’t quit when times get tough, you hang in there! You, "KEEP DOING WHAT YOU BEEN DOING."
Job was handed some bad news. Job too had to face hard times. But Job said, "…but I will maintain mine own ways before him." I will "KEEP DOING WHAT I BEEN DOING." Now then, there will come a time when you will be faced with the question;
1. "Do I Give up?" "Do I Quit?" 2. "Or do I, KEEP DOING WHAT I BEEN DOING?"
Make no mistake about it. That time will come.
In the end we find where Job had his best days yet ahead of him. Why? Because Job simply "KEPT DOING WHAT HE HAD BEEN DOING." Even though we cant see it or undestand it, Romans 8:28 promises us that our burdens are our friends. "All things work for the good."
"KEEP DOING WHAT WE BEEN DOING." My friend too would have wanted it that way.
