Read -- You need more than a teacher to scratch your itch, 2 Tim. 4:3,

2 Thessalonians 2:11, warns that they should believe a lie.

Today, I am pondering distortions.

Man seems to have the ability to twist and twist things to ease his conscience or hide the real facts, until he really believes his case.

This kind of distortion can be very dangerous.

lOOK HOW WASY IT IS TO TWIST THE WORD OF GOD.

Eve started twisting things and we today seem to like to continue the twisting until there is distortion that we hide the real meaning and thus it is easier to do wrong.

Gen. 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, YE SHALL NOTEAT OF IT, NEITHER SHALL YE TOUCH IT, LEST YE SHALL DIE.

What did God really say?

Gen. 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest eat freely.

17 But of the tree of the good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, for in the day that thou eatest thou shalt surely die.

EVE ADDED THE PART ABOUT TOUCHING.

Eve added her opinion to the word of God?

We can add our opinion and distort the truth?

God never said that, Eve did.

Rules are not bad.

Rules and following rules can test our nature and our heart.

Did you hear the story about the lady that had a very expensive bird?

The bird developed a terrible cough,

the owner fear the

bird was dying.

The cough got worse and worse.

Finally, she wrapped the bird in a towel and took

it to the veterinarian for a check up.

The doctor gave the

bird a physical examination,

and could not find anything wrong.

But the vet did give the lady a few pills for the

bird just in case.

The lady took the bird home.

The terrible, hacking cough grew worse and worse.

In the morning the bird would almost cough it’s

head off.

The lady was very concerned, and called the vet

again. He told her to bring the bird back to his

office.

This time the doctor heard the terrible cough.

But the bird’s lungs appeared clear.

The vet drew some blood to send to the state

university

for a complete analysts.

They would develop a medical plan for the bird,

to possibility save the bird’s life.

Several days later, all the test had been completed.

The vet called the lady and said all the test were

within the norms.

They could find nothing wrong with the bird.

The vet asked the lady to bring the bird into the

office, a bird specialist would be there.

The vet went out into the office and brought the

bird into the exam room.

The owner sat out in the waiting room.

The specialist listened to the bird cough and cough.

He stepped back, the specialist heard something in

the distance,

the lady in the waiting room was coughing and

coughing.

The specialist told the doctor, I have solved this

case.

The bird was just mimicking or imitating the owners

cough.

The lady was a chain smoker with a terrible cough.

The bird heard her coughing all the time, and the

bird just modeled or copied the owner.

The problem was a distortion.

The problem was real, but it was a distortion.

2 Thessalonians 2:11, warns that they should believe a lie.

Any one can twist the words and distort the facts.

Is abortion a lady’s right?

Or is it the baby’s right to life?

The old preacher was very tired.

He had been over worked and the stress was terrible.

The Queen had promised to have the preachers skin,

to nail it to the wall.

No one was there to encourage him.

While he was so tired, he never looked back to see

what God had accomplished through his hands.

He cries out to God, I AM THE ONLY ONE SERVING YOU,

GOD.

That was a distortion. God says, Get up Elijah,

there are over 7,000 in one place

that still serve me, and have not kissed the gods of

this world.

(1 Kings 19:18)

Elijah had let a tired spirit distort the truth.

Being tired will make a

coward out of heroes?

Are you tired? Are you believing distortions?

Jonah chapter 4 is so sad.

The preacher let the enemy distort a revival to the

point the preacher says,

it would be better to be dead than serving the Lord

here.

Jonah believed the enemy’s distortions.

History records the fall of the city that had

revival, the preacher distorted

what happened and never taught the rest of the story.

Mark 8:24 And he looked up, and said, I SEE MEN AS TREES, WALKING,

This shows that even after being touched by Jesus,

things can be distorted.

The blind man could see, but the men appeared as

trees.

Not only trees but walking trees?

Often times we need a SECOND TOUCH of the heart and hands of Jesus.

There was required a second touch and a looking up, then things became clear.

We can’t fall for the enemy’s distortion of facts and feelings.

Your emotions will play games with God’s Spirit.

We must control our hearts to follow truth.

This walk is by faith.

Our enemy can use dangerous distortions, and dam good people.

Read 2 Peter 3:9-18,

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

16 --- which some are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also other scripture, unto their own desrtruction.

18, But grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord ...

It is easy to twist the truth until the truth is hidden.

Untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction --

the Scriptures. Read --- study --- apply yourself.

You need more than a teacher to scratch your itch,

2 Tim. 4:3,

you need the truth exposed.

In the last days the people will cry for entertainment.

The showmanship preachers and gospel entertainers will get people to accept fables for the truth, and the truth will become as fables?

The compromised Gospel has little effect on sin.

An art enthusiast displayed on the walls of his office a collection of etchings that included many masterpieces. He was so proud of all the work he had acquired.

His work included a picture of the Leaning Tower of

Pisa.

Every morning the man noticed the picture of the

leaning tower was crooked, so he straightened it.

Finally one evening he asked the cleaning woman if

she was responsible for moving the picture each

night.

"Why, yes," she said, "I have to hang it crooked to

make the tower straight!"

In the same way, many have the habit of twisting the Scriptures to make their imperfect lives look better or to justify their own opinions or to put others down.

The apostle Peter warned his readers about the kind of people, who do not approach God’s Word with honest motives and respect for authority, and who distort its message. They will incur God’s judgment and this distortion is dangerous.

Unless we study the Bible prayerfully and humbly, we may get a distorted message and be drawn away from our faithfulness in Christ.

God gave us His Word as a light, to guide our steps.

We must obey it each day, we can find in it an unfailing source of strength and truth.

Distorting the meaning of the Word of God to fit our preconceived ideas is a dangerous practice and a terrible sin.

Let’s be careful how we read and interpret the Bible.

Let’s seek preachers that will tell the truth and teach the uncompromised truth, not looking for the applause of men.

I know you have heard the story of the man that was on the ocean on a huge yacht. They had cruised for days, and somehow had gotten lost.

The captain notice, the owner’s little son had

placed his toy magnetic to the casing around the

compass.

The magnetic force had distorted the readings

on the compass.

They trusted the compass, but the magnet had

distorted the real direction they traveled.

Please, come to the Word of God, read it, study it, apply daily. Don’t fall for the enemy’s distortions.

God, please send Your Word and Your Spirit, unto us that

You may touch our eyes and make us see truth;

may the balance of the truth concealed within the Bible,

be opened to our hearts. God be so real and revealed,

Rama Word, that we see the cross and the Savior -- as LORD.

Many read the Bible to prove their points and to argue,

may this not be in our hearts.

We must align ourselves with the Bible, never the Bible with ourselves.

Read Proverbs 22:13, there is a man that is so lazy he does not want to go to work.

He looks out the window, and says I better not go to work today,

there might be a lion out there and the lion might eat me?

This is a distortion of the facts.

The man lived right in the middle of a big city.

There were no lions out there.

It was an excused based on distortions.

May distortions is why we say:

Tell the truth,

the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Why are you there?

Why do you not grow?

Why are you unfaithful?

You better evaluate distortions of the heart and of the Spirit.
